How Do You Relax?

Relaxation is what we all say we want: to be relaxed, without stress, without tension. How do you relax? Does this really ever happen? However the reality is that relaxing can be very difficult for many people. Many people are not aware of the tension that they carry, especially the tension in their bodies. Then perhaps you get a shoulder massage and WOW, just the slightest touch and you can feel the pain. Or you lie down to go to sleep and you finally do feel the tension in your body and you can’t sleep, or you may feel it when you wake up and you are stiff and can’t get moving as easily as you’d like.

You may not realize it, but stress and tension hinders your forward movement, whether you’re walking or running. Any tension held in your muscles and tendons will restrict your range of motion causing you to have to work harder to move your body. Tense muscles are a primary cause of injury. When you don’t stay on top of it, tension can get deeper and deeper into your body. What you need to do is blow up a float, and find a lake or a body of water, get an ice cold drink, and get wet. Floating on the water is soothing to say the least and relaxing......put your cares away.....what doesn't get done today will still be there tomorrow! What do you to relax? What eases your mind? Where do you go t unwind? There are a variety of answers, and as long as you take care of you and find something or somewhere to go to occupy your time and to get some down time is jolly good!

We’re generally told to work harder to be successful, to push harder to be the winner, to do more to reach our goals. In today's day and age every one is in a hurry to be somewhere, grumpy, edgy, moody and non pleasant, why? Too much stress in our lives. Listen, life is far too short, so enjoy it. Soak up some sun,...but not too much. Wear your sunscreen, and relax!
