Most people will never tell you their real age, especially if they are pushing 30 or older than 30. What is the fuss about turning thirty anyway? What about the men who are pushing 60 and 70 and lie through their teeth? Women are often guilty when it comes to lying about their age and will go to any length to maintain a youthful look by undergoing surgery, Botox and spending money on expensive fitness trainers. Ok, I get that...Why do people lie about their age? What's wrong with stating how old you actually are? We are all going to get old...personally I feel that too many people worry about age and their are going to regret it later in life when they realize that they let theirs pass them by.
I discovered that the major reasons people lie about their age are for the following 5 reasons:
It is considered bad manners to go around telling people your age because "a lady never asks and a lady never tells anyone her age". It is believed that when people know your age, they put you in a particular place in their minds and when you do certain things, they'll say stuff like "is she not too young (or too old) to be doing that?" They always want you to do things according to your age and not according to what your heart tells you. That's why many people would rather lie about their age than have you scrutinize their actions each time. It's funny,..my grandmother used to always say, "If they are going to lie about their age, you don't even want to know what else they're liying to you about!"
Some companies will never hire a man or woman over a certain age, hence, the need to lie about your age in order to secure a plum job. Some organizations want to hire people in their early twenties and would not even consider a candidate who is above 30 years of age. Many job seekers are guilty of not being truthful about their age. Why on earth should a clueless 23 year old get the job when a 30 or 40 year old can do far better? I don't get it. Personally I want the more experienced candidate, age really doesn't matte to me, it's how smart and business savvy they are for the job that I need done.
To Fool The Opposite Sex
Women are mostly guilty of this kind of deception. They do this in order to get men whom they hope to settle down with. In a news report sometime ago, a man broke up his engagement when he found out that his fiance lied to him about her true age. He found out her age when he saw her driver's licence (by accident), he said he didn't break up with her because she was older than him, he said he was breaking up with her because she lied about it! He said his mother always said people who felt the need to lie, will always do something worse!
Some people lie about their age because they are living in denial. There are actually people who are known to age backwards after turning 30! Seriously? I'm 47 and still feel youthful! Why on earth would women think that 30 is old? You can deny all you want...but for those of you women, and men who think that you can go on a dating site and upload a photo of you that was taken, oh I don't know say maybe 20 years ago that someone isn't going to notice it? I met a guy who asked me for help because he was looking for love on a dating site. I read his bio and reviewed his data and was shocked to a certain degree.This gentlemen lied through his teeth about a lot of things. His age was nearly 70 this past June, his bio stated 48. Are you fu$&ing serious? Why?????????
Well, they lie because serious if you looked at an ad and same some guy who was a bit attractive state that he was pushing 70, would you go out with him? No.Why men and women can lie about age and think someone won't find out is beyond me, yet they do it all the time.
I'm proud to say that I am 47. Most people tell me that I don't at all look like a woman who has a 27 and a 25 year old. I take that as quite the compliment indeed. Age is just a number...
