Making the Perfect Martini

Apple Martinis are my favorite drink. For years my friends and I went to the club to enjoy one an others company, to relax, discuss our weekly schedules, family, personal lives and to have our favorite martini.
A splash of dry vermouth, two shots of gin, an olive or two – and your classic Martini is ready to serve,...but we don't like simple, and we surely didn't like the same martinis. Each drink that one drinks quotes who you are by class. Sooo what class are you? Do you drink martinis? Drinking a cocktail doesn't make you classy, make certain that you can back it up. The martini epitomizes style and sophistication; it is the most glamorous of all cocktails. If you snap your gum and twirl your hair the martini is NOT a drink for you.

Making a mean Martini
A traditional martini is made with gin and dry white vermouth, topped with a crisp green olive. Gin is strong liquor flavored with juniper berries and is generally used as a base for making other drinks. Vermouth, the other key ingredient of a martini, is a fortified dry or sweet wine flavored with various herbs, seeds, and plants. The amount of vermouth used in the modern martini has become considerably less. Martini connoisseurs would know that the dryness of the martini is determined by the amount of vermouth added. The drier the martini, the lesser the vermouth used to make it.

The classic Martini
A classic martini is prepared with equal parts of gin and dry vermouth. The key to a well-made martini is to chill the bottle of gin, the cocktail glass, and the shaker in the freezer prior to mixing. Some prefer to use cold vermouth, but tradition calls for it to be kept at room temperature. Ice is often dismissed as insignificant while making a drink. However, it is intrinsic to a martini because it helps combine the gin and vermouth.

The ‘shaken, not stirred’ martini ordered by James Bond raked up a controversy as to whether the drink should be shaken or stirred. Martini purists claim that shaking the drink ‘bruises’ the liquor, as the ice melts quickly, making the martini slightly weak. Also, shaking the drink is said to make it cloudy instead of clear. Clear drinks are always subject to a gentle stirring, so you do not lose the original flavor and yet succeed in blending all the ingredients. The classics that goes into making a good martini are often overlooked. The long-stemmed martini glass, often called the “classic cocktail” glass, adds an elegant touch to the drink itself. An authentic martini glass will hold 900 milliliters of liquid. A good cocktail shaker or mixer is a necessary tool behind the bar. There are three types of cocktail shakers – Cobbler, Pitcher and Boston. The cocktail shaker serves not just to mix the drink, but also to cool it quickly.

Sprucing up the Martini
There are primarily two variations of the classic martini: the Sweet Martini in which one uses sweet red vermouth and the Perfect Martini prepared with equal parts of sweet and dry vermouth. Vodka has become a common substitute for gin although purists frown upon this practice. A vodka martini, however, is as enjoyable as a gin martini and is sometimes infused with various fruity flavors.

While there are hundreds of evolving recipes for martinis, there are a few that are frequently-ordered. The ‘dirty martini’ is a popular version wherein olive brine is added for that extra zing. A Gibson is a typical dry martini garnished with pickled onions instead of olives. A gin martini prepared without ice but by using chilled ingredients is known as ‘naked martini’. For an ‘in-and-out’ martini, a small amount of vermouth is poured into the glass, swirled around and the excess is disposed. The Cosmopolitan martini has a combination of various fruit juices, the most common ones being orange and cranberry.

The image conjured up by the word martini is incomplete without the quintessential green olive. It is the Spanish olive that is commonly used in a martini. Different martinis call for an assortment of unique garnishes like lime, lemon twist, orange, peppers, stuffed olives, anchovies, etc.

Martinis today have become a fusion of various liqueurs, fresh fruit juices, and enticing flavors. Thanks to experimental martini epicureans all across the world, we are exposed to a variety of zestful martinis. After all, who can refuse a delectable Chocolate Martini – a wishful blend of chocolate and liquor? You may keep your life private, but what you drink says a lot about who you are and tells all the naked truth...

Great Relationships Don't Just happen...

Great relationships just don't happen, they take years of practice and a lot of growing. True or False? I don't personally think that it takes years, nevertheless, it does take patience and understanding. We'll let's see...Contrary to popular belief and, perhaps, our own fantasy life, good relationships don't just "happen". They take thoughtfulness, time, love, and work. Progressing through recognizable stages, all relationships experience crises and demand at least some flexibility on our parts. A willingness to stay together through the storms is the only way to get to the peacefulness on the other side. Yet (in my opinion) it is all very much worth it. In order to succeed, you need one thing, and it's quite simple...You need TRUST and you must communicate! It's real simple folks. You either have it or you don't.

Trust  is the glue that holds your relationship together, especially when times get rocky. As important as trust is to the well-being of your relationship, the need for your partner to be able to trust you is often times taken for granted or disregarded all together. Of all the relationship skills that you will read about, there’s no skill easier to execute than acting in a trustworthy way. Here’s a simple formula for building trust in your relationship—make sure that your words and actions match. Always do what you say that you’re going to do!

Great Relationships
Want to maintain a great relationship? Here's what you need to succeed:
Respect – the single greatest part of a relationship. Do you respect your partner? You should. If you don't you need to start doing it. How do you show it? Do you say nice things about them in front of your friends or other people, or do you criticize and whine about their weak areas? Lift your partner up, it's good for the mind and ones ego.

Do something nice for your partner – when was the last time you did something nice for your partner without them asking? How about giving them a massage, helping out with dinner, making them coffee, cleaning up around the house – there’s a thousand things you can do. The little things help so much in a relationship – do something nice often, it will make a world of difference.

Pay compliments – You should always try and compliment your mate/partner/spouse on a regular basis. Compliments are not fake statements made to get something back for yourself – a compliment has to be genuine! If you don’t believe what you’re saying, don’t say it – really. There’s gotta be many good points about your partner – when you appreciate something that they do, for goodness sakes, tell them. Do they look nice today? Do they look sexy? Should they shop at www.SimplyDeliciousLingerie.com? YES! When? Now! Have they done something nice? If so tell them to check us out. Our prices are affordable!

Don't be a Schmuck...Be appreciative – everyone should take time out of their day to be thankful for the good things in their lives. Be thankful for your partner, for your relationships – take the time to realize you are blessed.

Do things together – What things do you have in common? What things do you not like doing with your partner? Find something you both like to do and just hang out. Building a great relationship is much easier if you actually like doing things together. Laugh! Play! Go for a bike ride, go to the movies, play a game of tennis, go swimming, play cards, go on a wine tour, go out for breakfast, play twister… Together, you are unique – find something you like and do it together, at least on a moderately regular basis.

Imperfections...Yup, we all have them! – listen up because this one’s important. After you have found that perfect person, life is sweet! You’re walking on air! Then one day you wake up and realize that your partner has a habit of leaving the milk out on the bench every day, and it irritates you. You discover they have bad nasal hair… You find out they have a snorty laugh that’s really annoying! The point is (listen carefully) nobody’s perfect! When you start to dwell on the other person’s imperfections, have a think about yourself! Are you perfect? Of course not – there’s just as many irritating things that you do. Try not to sweat the little things – and work on your own problems.

Grass is greener syndrome – ever wonder if you’ve found the right person? Finding someone else attractive? Do you realize many people regret affairs for the rest of their lives? Factor in the previous point on perfection – if you change your partner and go off with someone else, will you find something else you don’t like about them? Probably… I’m not suggesting you put up with a mediocre relationship just because it’s never going to be completely perfect in all ways – I’m just saying don’t let your mind fool you into thinking life would be great if only I was with that hot chick/or that sexy guy! Don’t wreck something great just because your mind (or eyes) are wandering. You will regret it!Hang on to what you have and be thankful each and every day that he/she came into your life, and stay in your own yard!

A True Friend...Who is Tantalizing Tina?

friend·ship [ frénd shìp ]
  1. relationship between friends: a relationship between two or more people who are friends
  2. mutually friendly feelings: the mutual feelings of trust and affection and the behavior that typify relationships between friends
  3. friendly relations: a relationship between people, organizations, or countries that is characterized by mutual assistance, approval, and support
Synonyms: companionship, amity, comradeship, closeness, familiarity

When you think of friendship what comes to mind? Someone that is there for you, to listen, laugh with and hang out with? Perhaps...

What do you need to be a friend? Be Real!!! Connect with people whose friendship you value and see as sustainable long-term. Good friendships don't arise from hoping someone else's popularity or networks will rub off on you. Rather, a good friendship comes about by being with people who connect with you at level and get the person you really are. If you're trying to be friends with a person just to be accepted into a certain clique, or because you'd like to get to know someone else that he or she knows, that's not friendship – it's opportunism – and eventually you'll regret the shallow nature of your involvement. Every new person you meet has the right to be accepted (or not) on his or her own merits, so it's better to just be yourself than to let anyone else influence you into being someone you are not. In turn, you have a responsibility to fill their life with good memories and happy moments. Bear in mind it's better to be detested for who you are, than to be liked for who you aren't and good friendships withstand differences of opinion or outlooks anyway.

Be Loyal!!! Real friends don't gossip about friends. If your friend tells you something in confidence, keep that confidence and don't talk about it to anyone else. It's what you'd expect in return and so be tight lipped about the matter. Don't discuss your friend behind their back and don't spread rumors about the confidences they've imparted to you. Rule out gossip or backstabbing when it comes to friendship! Never say anything about your friend that you would not be prepared to repeat to their face.

Be Respectful!!!  Good friends respect one another and show this by being openly and mutually supportive. If your friend has certain values and beliefs that don't align with your own, respect their choices and be open to listening about them. Don't mock or belittle what they believe in; instead, be understanding and try to keep learning. Over time, the differences will make both of you stronger and better people as well as stronger friends.

When I think of friendship and someone that has been by my side for years and years, I think of my good friend Tina. You all know her as "Tantalizing Tina." She writes for Simply Delicious Lingerie in the Q&A Fashionista column. https://simplydeliciouslingerie.com/blog/category/qa-fashionista

Tina and I met years ago when we worked at a company where we learned what true customer service was. We experienced first hand how to determine the good from the bad (people.) Regardless of what kind of person walked through the doors, what their appearance was, or their status, Tina respected each and every one of them as she would herself and her loved ones. Tina is someone that is there for you day or night regardless whether you ask for help or not. She has been and will always be that shoulder for you to cry on, that one person that would take your call no matter what time it was, and she would give you the shirt off her own back to see that you were warm and she would leave you with a smile.

I've watch her 3 children grow into such fine young adults. Through the process of being a single mother and a hard worker to make ends meet and to give her kids everything that they needed to succeed and turn into the fine young adults that they are, she nurtured and gave them love. While most people will tell you that it costs a fortune to raise children, and yes, that is true, the values and morals that Tina has instilled in her children were FREE! Love is the only gift that is free. There is no amount of money that can by this sort of happiness. This comes from within and has no price tag. What makes Tina, Tina? It's a combination of love, respect and a whole lot of spunk! While most people say that it is difficult to raise a family, especially as a single mother, like Tina and I were/are, you do what you do because when we had our children we, just like all of you, took the "mother oath" to be the best that we could be come rain or shine.

Now, you may think that your hard work will never be repaid. Guess what? Love isn't about being paid back, it is unconditional, just as is a wonderful friendship. Although I have many, many friends through out the USA and abroad, I know that Tina will be always be there for me whether we talk everyday or once a month. True friendship is not determined by what you do. That old saying when bad times roll in, most will run out...a real genuine friend will be by your side to say "Let's get this party started and fix this mess!"

When you take on the role of a mother or a friend, you are making a statement. Only you can determine what kind of friend you truly are. When you need something such as advice or just someone to talk to, Tina is a friend to hundreds and hundreds of people. Next time you go digging through your closet and can't find something to wear, your partner plans a last minute weekend rendezvous and you haven't lost that last 10 lbs yet, you are going to the beach and your dryer shrunk your swimwear, you need to hide dimples on your tush, or that belly that still is a reminder of that little bundle of joy that you had a short time ago, or you are flipping through our website at http://www.simplydeliciouslingerie.com/ and you need to find that "perfect" piece, call on Tantalizing Tina for some assistance. Tina is my lifesaver, let her be yours when you need fashionista help!

What Makes a Strong Relationship Even Stronger?

We know that relationships aren't always easy, and we all know that they require work. We know that there are risks of break-ups and heartaches.A strong, healthy relationship can be one of the best supports in your life. Good relationships improve your life in all aspects, strengthening your health, your mind and your connections with others as well. However, it can also be one of the greatest drains if the relationship is not working. Relationships are an investment. The more you put in, the more you get back. Love and relationships take work, commitment, and a willingness to adapt and change through life as a team. Learn about ways to keep a healthy relationship strong, or work on repairing trust and love for a relationship on the rocks.

What makes a healthy love relationship?
  • Staying involved with each other. Some relationships get stuck in peaceful coexistence, but without truly relating to each other and working together. While it may seem stable on the surface, lack of involvement and communication increases distance. When you need to talk about something important, the connection and understanding may no longer be there.
  • Getting through conflict. Some couples talk things out quietly, while others may raise their voices and passionately disagree. The key in a strong relationship, though, is not to be fearful of conflict. You need to be safe to express things that bother you without fear of retaliation, and be able to resolve conflict without humiliation, degradation or insisting on being right.
  • Keeping outside relationships and interests alive. No one person can meet all of our needs, and expecting too much from someone can put a lot of unhealthy pressure on a relationship. Having friends and outside interests not only strengthens your social network, but brings new insights and stimulation to the relationship, too.
  • Communicating. Honest, direct communication is a key part of any relationship. When both people feel comfortable expressing their needs, fears and desires, trust and bonds are strengthened. Critical to communication are nonverbal cues—body language like eye contact, leaning forward or away, or touching someone’s arm.
What makes the Great great. They are willing to be different from those around them. Friends and family may tell you to give up or that you are trying too hard. Take their advice and thank them, but follow your heart. They may suggest games that incite a sense of jealousy. Whatever the case may be, you must decide whose calling the shots. You have to live with the decisions and the actions that you make. Make sure that this is done to the best of your ability. Greatness as a partner demands that you expand your ability to love. Growing a better relationship will be in direct proportion to your ability to love. Strive to consistently love in all that you do. Be consistent in love with the words that you speak and especially in the words that you do not speak. Love requires sacrifice. It means doing things that you do not feel like doing and listening to the same complaint over and over again. Partner focused relationships are synonymous with love. Only through these sacrifices of love will you ever achieve greatness. When you are in his arms, you feel at ease. When you are in his bed, you are his and he is yours both physically as well as emotionally. Be sure that you have your sexy lingerie for this beautiful moment. 3 Rules To Follow When Hand Selecting Your Womans Lingerie

The #1 rule of thumb in the men’s guide to buying lingerie for women is to calm yourself down! Why? Because I have no doubt that you have fantasized about a hundred and fifty times different sexy outfits you wish your significant other would wear for you. Did you know that the most common mistake that men make is to purchase lingerie that they love without thinking about what the woman would want? True...so you think it's erotic and hot to trot...ask yourself this boys...would you be comfy wearing it? My guess is that your answer will be a big fat NO,..so then, think about your gal while shopping for a sexy seductive little number. Not sure what your woman actually would want? You can generally get a rather good sense by looking at what she already has. Keep in mind though that it is OK to go and be a little risky, just don't go overboard. You want her to feel confident wearing it, not self conscious in it.
Sexy Lingerie

Women who typically wear sweat pants and a tee shirt to bed will be happy with something comfortable. A complicated getup with garter belts and stockings may not be the best choice. A cute, soft babydoll in a soft fabric such as silk will offer her comfort and be sexy. If you are hoping for something racy, you may need to begin simple and slowly work more fancy lingerie into the bedroom. See if she loves the babydoll and then progress from there.

If a woman already has a fairly good sized collection of lingerie, this lets you know that she loves to dress up and will appreciate something spontaneous. There are many exotic, fantasy lingerie sets that this type of woman probably will love, but may want her man to buy for her. In this case, that cute sexy matching set  just might do the trick.

Rule #2 in the men’s guide to buying lingerie for women is to consider the woman’s size and the self confidence level of the woman. Not every female looks like a super model and a woman with a fuller figure may not be overly enthusiastic to slip into a tiny, silky g-string. If a woman generally wears shorts but covers up her top half, she may be self conscious about her arms or stomach. In this case you will want to choose a piece of lingerie that offers that same. If a woman is comfortable in jeans and a tank top, she may be a bit self conscious about her legs or rear. In this case, a beautiful lingerie set with a matching robe can be the perfect choice. In this way, the woman has control over how much is exposed.

Rule #3 in the men’s etiquette to buying lingerie for woman is to know your woman’s size is. Take a peek in that laundry hamper or her lingerie drawer; tags on bras are generally near the clasp, panties and garters on the back rear area. Lingerie that actually fits will be much more appreciated than any that needs a lot of wiggling to fit into. Select for her something at Simply Delicious Lingerie that makes her smile and feel romantic and full of sexual energy! Visit us today; Simply Delicious Lingerie

6 Suggests for Keeping the Spark in your Marriage....

1. Have really good sex.

That's right...that is exactly what I said. One marriage counselor and therapist after another will tell you that sex is a vital part of successful marriages. If you're having problems in the bedroom, talk it out with your spouse and maybe even consider seeing a medical doctor or sex therapist if the issue requires professional help to get resolved. Even if things are hot and heavy in the bedroom, you can always make improvements.

2. Woo your spouse with lots of hugs and kisses.

Kissing and touching your spouse is a great way to keep the heat between you burning. Increase the romance factor by surprising your spouse with an extraordinarily passionate kiss every so often. It doesn't always have to lead to sex, but it plants the seed for future encounters and makes the day a little more exciting.

3. Don't take your spouse for granted.

Too many couples fall into a rut because they start to just expect their partner to always be there and they quit courting one another. But marriage -- at least in part -- is an agreement to court each other forever. Continue to go out on dates and getting silly with each other. My parents just celebrated their 49th anniversary and they still have date night. Take the position that the fun does not have to end just because you said, "I do."

4. Resolve issues that get in the way of romance.

The biggest obstacle  to romance is tension and stress that arises between couples who are having problems -- from an overly intrusive mother-in-law to unpaid bills. Discuss problems as they arise and try to find solutions that will satisfy both of you. If the problems are too big for the two of you to handle on your own, seek help.

5. Create a love nest.

Make your home conducive to romance, a sanctuary where the two of you have privacy and tranquillity. Setting the mood for romance in the dining room the bathroom, most definitely the bedroom, and certainly anywhere else in between is not difficult, nor does it have to cost a lot of money.

6. Try being more adventurous.

Regardless of your ages, or how long you've been married....after a couple has been together a while, they may at times tend to get a little bored. Sure it happens, but it doesn't end here. When this happens you're going to need to spice it up...yes you heard me, kick it up a notch sister by foregoing your usual routine. Take a weekend getaway, try a new move in the bedroom, get dressed up for a night on the two with each other. The unexpected always makes life a little more exciting.

Lingerie...It's What We do Best!

When you think about true beauty and sex appeal, what comes to mind first? Is it the alluring and stunning way ability to light up a room when you walk in, or is it the sheer glimpse of confidence that one catches in your walk, talk and stance that captures an audience? What is it that really makes a woman a woman? It is the way she carries herself? Is it how she dresses? The way she walks? Maybe it is the way she talks? There is no one definition and it most likely depends on a woman's image of herself. One thing is true, though; sexy lingerie can make a woman feel like a woman. Feeling sexy is being and feeling confident. Women are on the go so much that we rarely have time to stop and ponder something for too long, yet there is something unique and captivating in a woman that one can spot a mile away, or so it seems.

Lingerie is key, as is communication with a relationship. You have a relationship with your lingerie. Being intimate and wearing that piece or two of sexy apparel gives you the upper edge. There is more intimate wear for all types, shapes and styles of women today than ever before ' from panties and thongs, to teddies and camisoles, to bras and bustiers. They are made to help women feel sexy and confident about themselves.
Let's talk about panties. Those undisclosed items of underwear worn under slacks or dresses that can be comfortable and revealing on any shape. We sell a variety of bra and panty sets and sexy matching sets. They come in many fabrics from cotton to silk to leather depending on your tastes. They can be made to cover all or nothing. These sexy lingerie items are unique in that, unless you want someone else to know, no one can see them. You can show the outside world a polished businesswoman sporting a jacket, silk shirt with matching slacks. Underneath might just be those tiny thongs you dearly love. Perhaps it is that pair of crotchless satin panties that always makes you feel secretly sexy?

So, while we're talking about sexy lingerie...tell me? What do you wear to bed? Lingerie makes you feel much more feminine and also makes you have a lot more self confidence. If you are wearing sweats and other jumbled wear to bed, you should start wearing sexy lingerie and watch your nights sizzle.

It is important to wear lingerie to bed especially if you have been married a while. It keeps the romance alive and keeps your spouse guessing and always wondering what his naughty but nice wife is going to do to rock his world tonight? While many women will wear sexy lingerie in the beginning of a relationship, many stop wearing this type of lingerie after they have been married a few years and have had a few kids. One of the reasons that women give for not wearing sexy lingerie is that they do not feel good about their bodies.

At Simply Delicious Lingerie we believe that you look sexy and deserve to strut your stuff regardless of your shape, size and or weight. We sell lingerie and women's intimate apparel from size Small to a 5X. Why? We know that not everyone is a size "0" and we feel that everyone should take pride in their body regardless of her category. Other women simply feel that they do not have to make the effort any longer to attract their mates. Most are afraid to spend the money on themselves because they can use it on other things other than lingerie. None of these reasons are good reasons to stop wearing sexy lingerie. With the hustle and bustle of the holidays, and all the traveling that we do...the tempting treats and party food, and the general disruption to our normal routine, many people feel that weight gain is inevitable for them over the holiday period. Ok, Granted, it can be difficult to squeeze physical activity into our busy schedules with so much going on. Unfortunately, those who take a break from their exercise routine sometimes find it extremely difficult to get back on track again.

We already know the huge benefit exercise has on our bodies, including helping to reduce stress levels, giving more energy, lower cholerestol levels, blood pressure, and blood, and helping with weight maintenance. Exercise is also known to help reduced our risk of developing heart diseases and stroke. Be careful. find the time to exercise for a few minutes each day. Find ways to burn those unwanted calories, and yes, while most of you are thinking no surprising trips to the fridge in the middle of the night, or to the pantry with a spoon for some yummy peanut butter, it can also be in the form of burning up those calories with exercise that involves having sex. Yes you heard me SEX.

Avoid overindulgence, NO ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFETS!

While it’s totally fine to indulge from time to time, regular travelers need to say no to excessive buffet eating (especially prevalent at all-inclusive resorts and Grandma’s table), and to ordering restaurant meals laden with fat and calories. Try this,...Choose healthy salads, grilled lean proteins and steamed vegetables for regular meals this holiday and keep your portions reasonable. We aren't bears, as Ellen DeGeneres once said, and we don't hibernate, so we DON'T need a shit load of food to eat.

Carry low-calorie snacks in your travel bags

Getting from point A to point B over the holidays can be stressful, flight changes. delays, weather issues, and lets not forget the already thought of having to sleep in your old room that you parents haven't touch (decorating wise that is since you left) Air Supply poster? Seriously mother? Think about it...how many travelers make poor food choices because they don’t know when they will have time to eat their next meal. If you are traveling with children, it can be even more difficult. Carrying snacks and filling all your bags with fruit, protein bars or trail mix can help ensure you will never go hungry. The more ravenous you are, the more likely you are to head straight for the drive-through...plus this stuff will cost you a small fortune in the airport shops.

Watch your alcohol consumption

People don't realize how many calories liquors have in them. Hey, that beer gut didn't just pop out over night! Calories from alcohol can add up quickly. Drinking regularly at holiday dinners, cocktail receptions and the airport will contribute to and accelerate weight gain over a period of time. To avoid overindulging, try the "one for one" rule. “Drink one glass of sparkling water or club soda with a lime between each alcoholic beverage to help curb your alcohol consumption,” Tomor says.

Drink tons of water

Yes you heard me, WATER! Thirst can actually be mistaken for hunger. By drinking at least eight glasses of water per day, or more if you are flying, you may help reduce the amount of food that you eat and avoid overeating. Not to mention that it’s always important to stay hydrated, no matter the season. Keep a reusable bottle with you no matter where you are so you can easily sip on the go.

Always find time to exercise

Pack your workout clothes and shoes before you pack anything else so you have no excuse not to exercise. She also advises planning ahead and finding a gym or running trails near your hotel if it is not equipped with workout facilities. You can also upload workout videos to your laptop or carry compact exercise bands with you in your suitcase to ensure you work out while away. "Think 'when,' not 'if' when it comes to exercise," she says.

Don’t go to restaurants hungry

Being away from home also means eating out -- a lot. Restaurant eating is not only taxing on your wallet, but your waistline, too. To avoid any diet sabotage, Might I suggest tending to your stomach before heading out to eat by drinking water to curb some of your feelings of hunger. Better yet, sip on water with a twist of lemon or lime en route to the restaurant.

Say yes to salad

When you are on vacation (even if it’s just to another city to visit relatives) it can be easy to eat more than usual, especially at restaurants. Avoid that by filling up on greens. “As soon as you sit down to eat, order a side salad along with your beverage,” she says. “That way you will avoid eating chips and bread, which are full of calories.” Salads are so good and so much better for you,...providing you don't pile on the cheeses and thick creamy dressings.

Customize your meals at restaurants

Apparently, Victoria Beckham has been known to order “steamed broccoli” at restaurants – as her meal. We’re not suggesting you go that far, but you can trim calories easily when you eat out. Avoid eating fried foods or meals laden with heavy sauces and butters. Instead, she suggests ordering meals with sauces or dressings on the side. You can also ask the chef to prepare your meal with no butter or less butter. If the restaurant isn’t busy, your request will likely be accommodated.

Skip the calorie-laden condiments

One tablespoon of mayonnaise has 100 calories, and chances are that whatever is on your club sandwich is more than a tablespoon. (at least it sure is with mine.) We know condiments help boost flavor and improve a meal, but it’s all about making smarter choices. “If you need condiments, choose lower-calorie options, such as mustard, which only has three calories per teaspoon.”

Stay energized between meals

Having healthy snacks on hand means you and your family will stay energized between meals and never get too hungry. “Pack snacks in all of your bags, so you are not reaching for doughnuts and fried foods when you're hungry." Some portable snack options include protein bars, raw nuts, fresh or dried fruit, bagels, pretzels, low-sugar granola bars, low-fat energy bars and mini carrots.

Follow these tips to help you make wise choices throughout the day:

  • If you're cooking use substitutions to trim the fat; for instance, use chicken broth or skim milk instead of cream or butter in mashed potatoes.
  • Avoid portion distortion by eating off of a salad plate.
  • Tell yourself that you will not go back for seconds unless you are still hungry
  • Indulge where it doesn't count - feel free to eat as many vegetables as you would like!
  • Relax - stress can lead to overeating.  Exercising early in the day can help with this.
Enjoy your company - remember that the holiday isn't ALL about the food.  It's about taking time to remember the things you are thankful for. Now then, lets talk turkey.....watch what your body consumes over the holidays! Be careful! Your body is your home and you can't put it up for sale, unfortunately it's the only one you'll ever have...so take care of it and keep it safe. If you follow the few things I've mentioned above, you'll stay health and keep the pounds off.

10 Sure Signs that You're FALLING IN LOVE!!!

So many times we date people, or meet people and that night we lay in bed wondering to ourselves... "would he/she be a good fit for me?" Well, its often difficult to tell after one date, sometimes even two or three...but if you see this  person then stop seeing them and continue to think of them often and wonder how they are doing or where they are or who they are with...you might have some stronger feelings for them that you were not aware of. Could it be love we often wonder? As Whitney Houston once sang..."How will I know if he really loves me?"

Here are 10 Signs You’re Falling in Love, whether you like it or not!

1. You forget to eat.
Super telltale. Forgetting to eat means you’re not only distracted, but that you also want that person more than you want food, so you forget all about it.
2. You catch yourself smiling.
A little love in your system can surprise you so much, you can’t help but smile. Hey, that's great! Smiling is good for the body, mind and soul! It’s half because you feel so good, and half because you’re laughing at yourself  for feeling like a 16 yr old again, but..... oh ain't love grand?
3. You can’t look at the person.
Suddenly, they drive you mad and you want to jump on them and squeeze them tight! It is impossible to hold a decent conversation with the object of your affection, because you’re afraid if you look them in the eye, they’ll be able to tell you’re melting for them inside. A good trick: talk to their forehead. Yes you heard me...look at their forehead, not their beautiful eyes...all the while knowing that  inside this man/woman is driving you completely insane and you want to kiss them like there's no tomorrow!
4. You think about them when you’re getting dressed in the morning.
Don’t pretend you’ve never done it. You start analyzing whether he or she would like the blue shirt better, and putting a little more effort into your hair. No harm done.

5. You realize you miss them when they’re not around.
If you’re used to seeing the object of your affection at work or class and then one day they’re not there, you’ll feel like your whole day was wasted. Does your bed seem empty? Wouldn't it be better to wake up with someone and hold them through out the night than be alone?
6. You get jealous about odd things.
You find out they saw a movie last night and now you are enraged. Why didn’t they think to invite you? Who did they go with?? Your ears turn red as you try and mask your jealousy., or what if you read their FaceBook wall and saw that a man wrote something cute on their wall? Maybe this guy is just an old school friend from way back when,..still it makes your blood boil?
7. You’ve pictured what your children would look like.
Oops. Maybe your baby making years are long gone....ask yourself then if she/he would be a good influence on your children? Would your kids like this person and do they think that this particular man/woman would make their parent glow and would you do the same for your partners? ...this then leading to my next response.....
8. People say you’re glowing.
The feeling of being in love is physical, and like laughter, it can have healing, rejuvenating benefits. This is one of the reasons it’s okay to revel in your feelings, even if they’re for the wrong person — just don’t make any stupid mistakes.
9. You’ve suddenly felt a rush of something and you like it!
Male or female, you start getting these feeling that are uncontrollable, and undeniable, and yet you still question them...why? You are scared silly...love is like taking a giant leap! Be careful....but for God sakes be brave. You don't want to move forward a few years and realize you let the best thing that ever happened to you slip away into someone elses arms, follow your heart....Yes, these are definitely signs you’re falling.
10. You can’t concentrate on work.
Maybe even as you read this article, you’ll glance and realize that half an hour has gone by. That’s because you’re daydreaming. And you are in looo-oooove.Oh La-La! Life is good! Enjoy it with that special someone! Sometimes you only get one chance!

Let's Talk About Sex ....

What is involved in the natural art of making love? Please don't say a bottle of wine and candlelight dinner,..but that is a starter, and quite the romantic one. A lot of thought generally goes into this big ordeal because it is a very big deal and quite the perfect preparation I might add. Love making does not only involve sexual pleasure but also a happier mood and a stronger relationship in the long term. You have to naturally test the waters first to see what you both enjoy...never assume anything, especially with a new partner, or it could very well backfire on you! In order to benefit from love making both partners should derive mutual satisfaction from the act which implies both partners should reach ultimate orgasm. You should know how and when to make love in the right way and form. I've listed a few tips, but only you know how to romance your partner and make it a night of passion to remember. First of all, buy your lingerie at http://www.simplydeliciouslingerie.com/ where there are a variety of selections and discounted prices!

First of all; Set the mood. Yes set the mood....make it a night to remember! In order to make love the right way proper mood is very important. You simply can not satisfy your partner is he or she is in a negative or a bad mood. This is the major reason why some couples feel love making was absolutely awesome sometimes whereas other times it's just ordinary. Your and your partner's mood has a big role to play in love making. To keep the heavenly magic intact in love making always do it when you feel the situational moods are right. Timing is everything. Plan this wayyyy in advance. Sure you can do it on the fly if it just happens to happen, but we gals like feeling special.

Romance- Love making is all about romance and emotional attachment towards each other. Romance is extremely important to add that extra spice before you start taking your clothes off. Romance normally leads to an exceptionally better love making and you get more satisfaction each time you make love. Amen to that!

Use words- Words are a very important part of love making and should be used wisely. As is body language! My grandmother used to say that you can speak with your eyes without every having to open your mouth! The pleasure from making love doubles when you tell your partners how much you love need or want him or her. Research has shown that couples which involve more feelings and emotions in love making are known to be happier in the long term...and isn' it long term that we all desire?

Take it further- Continue the above mentioned steps and take the next step into foreplay. This is when you break out the reddi whip and rhinestone handcuffs for play time! This is the final step of proper love making which leads to eventual orgasm. Oral stimulation doubles pleasure and you can make love for several hours.

How good are you in bed? - Are you good? Don't just think that you are, you have to know that you are. Egos can get the best of some of us, but seriously, at that particular time and moment it's not good to think we are rather we have to be. Do you have what it takes to satisfy women in bed? Are they having a real orgasm? Or do they fake it?  Do you know what every woman wants bed? Ever tried to wonder what's in a woman's mind? What is she thinking about? Do you know that women do not always mean what they say? They might say something and mean the exact opposite. But what do women actually want? Good luck trying to figure us out because sometimes we don't even know what we want! Enjoy your partner, practice makes perfect!

The 3 Most Popular Sexual Positions

In some recent research and unique findings I wondered what are the most popular sexual positions? There are several different kinds of love making positions that couples can adopt during sex. Some of the love making positions provides higher stimulation than the others and it will be good for you to try them out with your lover. I've found that foreplay as we all know it is something that gets the energy going and sets the mood...is it extremely necessary? No...but is it fun?....You bet your sweet ass it is. Being a pretty intelligent woman that I am and one who does her fair share of reading thought that I would share with you, my friends and family, (but hopefully not my mother) the 3 most popular positions that couples all over use. Remember, always wear your Simply Delicious Lingerie!

1. The Clip. This position is very easy to execute and it brings a lot of pleasure to both partners. The man will lie down with his legs outstretched. The woman will sit astride him and lean back, so that the man can play with her clitoris while she controls the thrusting movement. The man can just relaxed and enjoy the intercourse.

2. The 90 Degree. This position is best to be performed on a table, with the woman lying on it and her buttock at the edge of the table. The man will then enter her in a standing position. This position is ideal for the man to caress both her breasts as well as her clitoris. The woman should wrap both her legs onto the man's waist and pull him to towards her. This will cause the pressure to increase, giving both partners stimulating pleasures.

3. The Doggie. This is a classic making love position and it is highly stimulating for both partners. This position starts off with the woman going down on all fours, using her forearms to support herself. The man will enter her from the rear, controlling the thrusting movement with his hips. This position will give a lot of pleasures to both partners as the deep penetration will not only grind and stimulate against the vaginal wall, but also the G-Spot too.

If you are looking for fun ways to get more excitement from your partner and you like taking risks, read this book.... I just did. It is intriguing and has that "wow" factor of seduction! You should explore more love making positions with your partner to spice things up as there may be some other positions that both of you find highly stimulating. Life is far too short, enjoy your partner. It burns calories!

Why do men chase "Cougars?"

Most often we have to wonder....Why do men chase Cougars? If you're familiar with the movie "The Graduate", where a young Dustin Hoffman has an affair with the older and mature Mrs. Robinson, you may have a small grasp of why younger men sometimes like older women. Come on now, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to connect the dots on this puzzle. Here in America, it's rare but not uncommon for a younger man to be with an older woman. It's appealing, its seductive but most of all it is also alluring. So what is it that an older woman seems to have verse a younger gal? A mature woman provides several attractive qualities.

The allure comes in several forms:
Older women are taboo; taboos are attractive
It's a cultural taboo for a younger man to date a mature woman. It's usually the other way around: an older male with a younger female.

Much like the forbidden fruit, older women are theoretically off-limits for younger guys. While it may be uncommon for a 21 year-old man to date a 31 year-old woman, it's certainly not illegal. People would probably view the interaction as a novelty. It is life though and it is going on all around us. I was approached by a handsome younger man who came right at me and told me that he prefers older women because we are more mature and less fuss. He is actually turned on by women my age. I am 48, he is a very mature 34. I suck at guessing a mans age so naturally I thought he was older....Flattered by this, sure I am.

So ladies...if you think hitting 40 or 50 has turned you into an old maid, think again...you're not too old to get hot and sassy with some Simply Delicious Lingerie and go after what you want, or to allow the chase to begin. Some young men prefer older woman, and I say that there is nothing wrong with that and everything right! It's nice at our age to be known as the "forbidden fruit" isn't it? Taboo? Nah, I just think that the men that are younger that go after women in my age group who still take care of themselves and look well, are ranking high in the friends talk...everyone wants to know how that match came about?

In theory, it's no ones business. Honestly, Imagine being at the bar a younger man with his friends where  many younger women are approaching him and he turns to the beautiful sassy older woman in the crowd? Not only has this just made every mans jaw hit the floor in the room, but he feels like a million bucks and you are honored for the opportunity to get to know this young man who went out of his way to get noticed by you. I'll say it again, the LBD works wonders. Ladies, guys like simple and sexy at whatever again...lose the layers of make up and go more natural...you will look more appealing than you ever imagined without even having tried to.
Much like the forbidden fruit, older women are theoretically off-limits for younger guys. While it may be uncommon for a 21 year-old man to date a 31 year-old woman, it's certainly not illegal. People would probably view the interaction as a novelty.
Mature women make men feel more comfortable.Young women have less experience with men and tend to be less stable in general than older women. Men like women who make them feel comfortable, emotionally. We are less work...that's what I'm trying to say I think....? Also, as far as sexual maturity goes, women tend to peak in their late twenties, while men peak around age 18. Hey, some women such as myself are still peaking...nothing wrong with that.

Very often, young women may have hundreds of men chasing after them; this makes a young man feel the pressures of competition from other males.Older women offer an alternative. It's nice to feel attractive; in the eyes of a mature woman, a young man may be a very attractive object.

Women chase younger men just the same...Perhaps there is something to be said about the chase? There is a class of women known colloquially as "cougars", these women are typically professional, attractive, and earn middle-class incomes without the help of a man.  These are the women who are determined to live a happy life with or without a man because they are well-balanced and happy with who they are. Personally I think that us older women have the edge on dating, and having a younger spouse. I think that age is just a number. It depends truly on one's integrity as well as their maturity level.Look out all you younger women who think that us older gals are heading down the road to loneliness, news flash! There is a cougar crossing...so get out of our way!

What is LOVE? Is it Real?

love [ luv ]
  1. feel tender affection for somebody: to feel tender affection for somebody such as a close relative or friend, or for something such as a place, an ideal, or an animal
  2. feel desire for somebody: to feel romantic and sexual desire and longing for somebody
  3. like something very much: to like something, or like doing, something very much
What is love? So many of us wonder if what we have is real, or like that of a dream awaiting the alarm clock to go off and bring us back to the real world, our reality! I will define it by describing what love is and what love is not. What is love varies from person to person but our need for it is the same. See if these descriptions ring true for you,...it sure did for me.

Self-love is the art of completely accepting our faults, completely appreciating our gifts, and completely acknowledging our individuality. (Individuality is the uniqueness that separates, and sometimes isolates us, from everyone else.) Once this is achieved, we are ready to love and be loved by another person.
Genuine self-love does not involve egotism, vanity, or self-valuation based on status or wealth. A person with true self-love is compassionate, humble, principled, and not affected by job titles or material possessions.
If you haven’t yet found love within yourself, then do it! When you begin to understand what is love, you’ll know that you are on the right path toward discovering self-love.

I can certainly tell you this......Real love is not possessive or exclusive. When we love someone, we want everyone to love them - we want them to live in the glow of loving and being loved by everyone. If you find the previous sentence challenging, please remember that true love is not sex or lust, and focus on the vital importance of keeping those concepts separate.

Real love is not possessive or exclusive. When we love someone, we want everyone to love them - we want them to live in the glow of loving and being loved by everyone. If you find the previous sentence challenging, please remember that true love is not sex or lust, and focus on the vital importance of keeping those concepts separate.

True love is never conditional. One can never say, "I'll love you, if you love me." That would describe some desperate bargain, but nothing approaching real love could be a part of it. True love is not diminished by circumstances. Can you imagine loving someone less because they broke a leg? Got an infection? Lost their job? A love that depends upon the talents and capabilities of the other is conditional, and not real love.

What You Will & Will Not Experience
How do you know if you are in love with the one who’s right? Don't we all wish we knew the answer to that, wouldn't it make our lives a whole lot easier, and allow our hearts not to break? The following lists will provide you with what you will and will not feel, think, share, and experience when you’re in love with the one who’s right. To be able to recognize what is love we need to know what it’s not as well as what it is.

You will:
  • Love yourself more.
  • Think of them before yourself.
  • Want to be with them all the time.
  • Harmonize with them without effort.
  • Share many of the same goals.
  • Share many of the same passions.
  • Share many of the same principles.
  • Share the same outlook on your home.
  • Share similar views on money matters.
  • Find humor in many of the same things.
  • Trust them with your deepest thoughts.
  • Get attention from them.
  • Experience sexual fulfillment.
  • Feel confident and sure about them.
  • Feel motivated by them.
  • Feel supported by them.
  • Feel relaxed and comfortable with them.
  • Feel better about yourself by what they say.
  • Feel secure that they won’t leave you.
  • Share the same vision for the future.
  • Have the same answer to: “What is love?”
  • Have the same feelings about what is love.
You will not:
  • Begin to hate yourself.
  • Think of what you want all the time.
  • Feel like spending time away from them.
  • Need to force your way with them.
  • Be pulling in different directions.
  • Be struggling to find common interests.
  • Challenging each other’s motives.
  • Have vastly different ideas on your home life.
  • Be poles apart on how money is spent.
  • Argue and fight all the time, if at all.
  • Be afraid to share your deepest thoughts.
  • Be ignored by them.
  • Flirt with other people.
  • Feel fear and anxiety about them
  • Feel pressured by them.
  • Feel they have little interest in your life.
  • Have to force yourself to be pleasant.
  • Feel bad about yourself by what they say.
  • Feel insecure that they might leave you.

Everything may not match exactly, but most of it should. Use these lists as a guide. I found that many of these hit home, and oh if I only knew then what I know now....You will know when you have discovered life’s greatest treasure, because you will have a glorious unquestioning feeling in your gut that you are in love with the one who’s right, and they will feel the same. And you will know the answer to the question: “What is love?” Is it real or is it just a game?

A Story about Sticky Boobs

Ladies, Ohhh have I got a story for you. There must be a time in your life, when you wore a dress, whether it be a cocktail dress, a clubbing dress or perhaps a sequins sleeveless blouse that you bought from a boutique where it was cut odd and at the time you had no special bra with straps that stayed hidden so you needed to use something to cover the ole' "hooters" .....because I was rasied in an old fashion home where you didn't expose yourself to complete strangers....your private parts remained private. Funnys isn't it, now I own two lingerie stores.

Lets talk about these items that you wear....Some call them "pasties" I call them "Sticky Boobs!" Easy to use, self adhesive strips that go over the nipple area to cover your girlie parts. These things work great! In fact every woman should have a set for those just in case emergencies, if not for you, for some poor woman in the ladies room trying to hide her unmentionables.

I'm describing myself here and let me tell you...I thought that they were great, but they should come with a WARNING LABEL! Never, ever, ever ladies wear these for a long period of time. These pasties, or sticky boobs as I refer to them as are a temporary fix for women. They are like a bandaid... they stick to you....and the longer you leave them on ladies, the more PAINFUL they are to take off. How do I know this, ohhhhh this experience is something that I will NEVER forget. My girlfriends laugh so hard even to this day when I tell the story, making some of them cry they alugh so hard.

A few years ago a group of us met in Las Vegas for our friend Brians 50th surprise birthday party. To celebrate, we had a private party in the Mirage at Jet Nightclub then went on to one of their elegant restaurants for a formal sit down dinner. I packed a beautiful sequin blouse and a silk black skirt full length and beautiful stilettos....but forgot a strapless bra. What was I to do? Lucky for me, my girlfriend Cindy that I went to Vegas with worked for a lingerie company at the time had a supply of anything and everything a gal could imagine if she forgot something while rushing to pack and scoot to the airport or for an overnight romantic getaway!

Cindy offered these sticky boobs to me and told me how to apply them. Easy,....piece of cake! Oh that was the greatest thing ever....Best things ever!....Until I partied, got way to drunk and came back to the room after gambling with my friend Nick playing the Wheel of Fortune where we won some $1600, then lost half of it so we gave up and walked with a lot less.....at 5am.

My blouse zipped up the back all the way to my neck so there was no way it was coming off so I figured why not just go to sleep dressed? Do you see where I am going with this story? I woke up as I had drawn the short straw to get 10 chairs at the pool at 8am and had to be there come hell or high water. Take one for the team Michele! So I did....when I woke up at 8am to that loud piercing alarm, I answered the phone. I was still drunk and still completely dressed. The alarm woke up Cindy so she got dressed to go to the pool with me. I sat up and realized that my clothes were all still on....as were the sticky boobs! I went into the bathroom, called Cindy to unzip me and when I pulled those stickies off I swear that it took off 3 layers of skin and I let out a scream that was heard all the way down to the MGM Grand! Consider this ladies, if this ever happens to you, act smarter that I did and get in the shower with them off, they come of a hell of a lot easier! Oh if I knew then what I know now!

The moral of the story is this; ...don't wear these things EVER! They should have a warning label on them. I've never experienced so much pain since childbirth, or at least it sure seemed that bad! Sure they work, but they are a bitch to take off if wore too long. Yes, they sure look pretty and sexy but they can cause some real damage! Mine were not at all this fancy, but I think you get the picture?
