Dating, Relationships and Cheaters

Cheating...None of like to assume it happens, nor do we anticipate it ever happening to us, but it can and sometimes it does. At some point or another, we all have that one bothersome thought or two that crosses out minds...is my partner cheating? My guess is that you're likely to experience trust issues in your relationship. Why? We are all a little insecure at times. The thing is, whether or not we are secure with who we are has absolutely nothing to do with how honest mate is acting. It does make it a bit difficult when statistics say that 85% of women who feel their lover is cheating are correct and 50% of men who feel their lover is cheating are right. If you have suspicious, warnings or signals of infidelity by your spouse or partner, listen to your gut.

Whether it's brought about by infidelity, a decrease in your own self esteem, your partner's newly hired young assistant, someone constantly flirting with them, or a simple change in your partner's behavior, your relationship can weather this storm and rise above feelings of uncertainty. You have to first of all believe that you can get through everything!

Follow these tips as we walk you through the trust issues you may face
This will assist you in experiencing the thriving relationship that you truly deserve:

1. Work on your self-esteem. Many trust issues in relationships that were once thriving stem from personal insecurities. If you've experienced significant changes in your appearance or noticed a drop in your self-esteem, it's important to build up your body image and self worth in order to rebuild the trust in your relationship. You must feel confident in who you are or you sure as heck won't be able to have faith in someone else.
  • It's common to become suspicious of the company that your significant other is keeping when your self-esteem plummets.  Many times, we are not given the opportunity to understand much less process what to do or how to react if and when we learn of infidelity in your relationship.Sometimes, you have to have some faith and give your partner the benefit of the doubt. The way you perceive yourself may be the only thing in your relationship that has changed.
2. Reflect on your past. Did something happen in your childhood that has caused you to become wary of trusting your heart to anyone? Did your parents choose to divorce when you were young? Were you sexually abused in the past? Or did you experience cheating in a past relationship/marriage?
  • These things and more can be responsible for your inability to trust others. When you've endured emotional trauma, especially during your youth, its effects can last decades. Speak to a therapist to help you find the root of the issue and learn how to work past the event.
3. Talk about your problems and issues with trust... and WHY you have these issues;
If there has been infidelity within your relationship, it's vital to hash out all hurt feelings and future expectations.
  • If you've cheated in the past or in an other relationship that you were in with someone else, it's normal for your partner to want to know where you are, what you're doing, and what time you'll be home. They'll ask if you'll be alone with anyone. Answer their questions truthfully and understand that they are hurting. Try to put yourself in their shoes? You might see things a bit differently.
Once a Cheater, Always a Cheater?

That's what most people think, and if you've ever been cheated on, I can guess that is why you would feel as such. When most people get caught cheating, they make promises and vows to never cheat again. Sound familiar? Unfortunately, such promises often get broken. The desire to cheat is complicated and it is not solved by feeling sorry or by making promises to change. If you want to change any behavior, you must first determine why that behavior occurred. So, when it comes to infidelity and cheating, what factors led the person to cheat? Was it too much opportunity, was it due to problems in their relationships, was it due to a need for excitement? Did your appearance change? Did you gain weight? Are you a workaholic, or an alcoholic? What caused this? This is the million dollar question.

Dating and Relationships are good. Not everyone cheats, or lies. Talk to your partner if there is tension, or distrust. If you feel like something is going on, speak up. Trust is about more than believing that your partner will remain faithful. It's about trusting that your partner will always be there for you in times of need, while also being a prominent part of the most important events in your life. Work on your trust as romantic partners - and as best friends - to truly guarantee a long healthy future and a happy ever after. You can get past this.

Boost Your Self-Image...Love Your Body the Way it IS!

Do you have the "I LOVE MYSELF" image? If not you should, but so many women do not and for reasons that shatter their confidence as well as self-image. Why do women feel down when it comes to their figures? Why do we suffer the blues every time we pass one of those three way mirrors in a dressing room or in a store? It's because of all the social media today focusing so much on super skinny women, it's hard to think that you could possibly be desirable if you don't look like the women on TV and in magazines. This hoopla has created quite the buzz.

The reality is, the average woman in America weighs 164 lbs. and is a size 14. That's the facts. Why on earth do you think that my plus size lingerie store, www.SimplyLusciousLingerie.com does so well? It's because regardless of a woman's age or size/figure, I preach that women should love who they are first and foremost and once they do and they feel good about themselves as they certainly should, they can love who they are along with whatever size they are and be happy. You should feel beautiful on the inside and the outside. It starts with your lingerie. I know when I get up in the morning I look for something that is going to make me feel fabulous, and so should YOU!

A positive self-image is one of the top things most women struggle with. So, how can you learn to love your body the way it is? First of all ladies you need to focus on what you do like about your body. Soooo, here are a variety of questions to get you thinking about the things you DO like about yourself:
  • What areas do you get complimented on the most? What do others notice about you first when you walk into a room?
  • Do you smile and feel good about YOU?
  • Do you feel sexy?
  • Are you confident with who you are regardless of your shape or size?
  • Are you shapely with a larger busts and hips? Do you have a curvy figure?
  • Do you have nice legs? Or do you have cankles?
  • Do people comment on how pretty you are or often say that you have beautiful eyes?
  • Do you like to show off your feet with pretty sandals or open toed shoes?
  • Is your hair shiny and beautiful? Do you like to touch it or play with it?
Instead of being overly critical and negative, be grateful for the body and health you do have. So give yourself permission to see and accept the good and love what body you have!

Boosting Your Self-Image with the Perfect Clothing

Listen,...learning to love your body is important because having a good self-image empowers you in many ways. When you love the way you look, you feel more confident and confidence gives you the ability to do anything you set your mind to. Dressing for your body type also plays a big part in how you look and see yourself, so it's important to know what color, style, shape and material of clothing looks best on you. If it looks great on a model or someone else, it does not mean that it will work best for you. You can dress up or down, but either way you should feel comfy in what you are wearing for sure. If your closet is full of worn out t-shirts and old raggy faded blue jeans, it's time for a wardrobe makeover!

My very own unprofessional advice? Take a good, honest friend or family member shopping with you to help you choose clothes that fit well and colors that look best on you. Remember, what you may like is something that you have been wearing for years and years. Are you stuck in a time warp? Could be...and if so it's time for some outside reinforcements! Updating your wardrobe doesn't have to be expensive either. Begin by shopping resale stores. Oftentimes you can find brand name, never worn clothes at prices greatly below retail. However, don't settle for less than the best for your body type. If you can't find the perfect items for your body, then don't buy the clothes just because they're cheap.

Build your wardrobe from the bottom up on a budget; starting with the most basic necessities:
  • Black dress pants for work or an evening out
  • One dressy blouse for work or an evening out
  • One power suit for job interviews or business
  • A black skirt
  • Camisoles in a variety of colors for layering
  • A well fitting pair of blue jeans for casual days
  • 2 to 3 casual tops (by casual I'm not talking t-shirts either)
  • 2 pair of shoes: 1 for dress and 1 for casual
When you've got the basic necessities, then you can build your wardrobe up from there by adding dressy blouses or tops in different colors and styles, more skirts in various styles and colors.

Once you start loving your body by recognizing what you do like about it and dressing to fit your body type, you'll gain a whole new confidence like you've never felt before and other people will take notice too. You may notice others reacting somewhat differently toward you as they respond to your new confidence...and we all know that confidence does your body good. You have to think beauty to feel beauty regardless of your size or shape.

So hey ladies... start learning to love your body now. You're sexy and  oh so beautiful!

What is True Self Esteem?

Self-esteem is the way you regard yourself according to your worth and value. You cannot be fully happy in life if you do not have enough self-esteem and confidence in your abilities. You can't touch it, but it affects how you feel. You can't see it, but it might be there when you look at yourself in the mirror. You can't hear it, but it's there when you talk about yourself or when you think about yourself. Confidence is essential for healthy living.Without self-esteem, you will feel depressed, unhappy, and insecure all the time. You will always disapprove of the things you accomplish. You will not seem to do anything right, thus making you stumble and fall in your every endeavor. My non-professional advice? If you’re interested in self-esteem, and are attempting to design an intervention to improve it, try thinking outside the box.

Let's get real shall we? Self-esteem isn't about bragging, it’s about getting to know what you are good at and not so good at. A lot of us think about how much we like other people or things, but don't really think much about whether we like ourselves. It's not about thinking you're perfect, (even though you might think that you are) because in all truth, nobody is perfect. Even if you think some others are good at everything, you can be sure they have things they're good at and things that are difficult for them. The most important thing to know about self-esteem is that it means seeing yourself in a positive way that's realistic, which means that it's the truth.

Improve your self-esteem and confidence. Now is the time to do it.

 Achieve it by following these simple steps;

1. Don’t let your fears overpower you. Face your fears. Fears are not as bad as you think they are. You will definitely boost your confidence if you effectively face your fears and eventually conquer them.
2. Learn from your mistakes. It is okay to fail. Just make sure you learn the lessons from these mistakes. Then, you won’t make the same ones anymore. Learning from your mistakes will also make you wiser and stronger when you face future challenges.
3. Assert yourself. Know what you want and work up the ways to get it. You can make your dreams come true. Do what it takes to reach your goals and materialize your dreams.
4. Reward yourself. You need to approve of yourself because if you don’t accept yourself, no one else will. Find ways to reward yourself when you achieve desired accomplishments.
5. Ask and know. If there is anything that you feel uncomfortable with, ask yourself why. Then deal with it. Do what it takes to rid yourself of that discomfort that you feel. Only then will real confidence show.
6. Do not allow yourself to fail. Failure happens when you let yourself be defeated. If you continue standing every time disappointment happens, you are not beaten yet. But if you stop fighting, that’s where it ends. You won’t get the confidence and the self-esteem you need if you stop the fight and fail to prove to yourself that you can do it.
7. Get help. There are a lot of good materials and people that can help in increasing your confidence. You can even get the help of a professional. Either way, if nothing seems to go right, there are other ways designed to aid you.
T

These are very simple things you can do to improve your self-esteem and confidence! What are you waiting for...get started! Follow friends leads; I'll have what she's having!

3 Ways to Improve Your Self Esteem

Women's identities certainly have gotten a bad rap lately. We are told that women think badly of themselves, and they have no self-confidence. Did you know that if you Google "women and self-esteem" you'll get over 7 million hits, most of them websites on the problems of women's self-esteem or how to boost women's self-esteem. Yeppers...isn't that amazing? We all know that women's identities are fragile and conflicted: at work we feel like frauds and at home we feel worthless. Why is this? The stifling opinions, personalities and interests pretend to be what they think boys want them to be.

Here's how to improve. Did you know that your self-esteem is to take conscious control of your self-talk. Negative self-talk is the prime cause for creating and maintaining negative self esteem. The things you say to yourself in your mind, as well as the meaning you attribute to events in your life, combine to create the reality you end up live. Most people's self-talk is roughly 95% negative. They see the worst in themselves and in everything that happens. Putting a stop to such self-destructive thinking is vital. It is our thoughts and expectations that shape and produce what we become. The quality of our lives is a direct result of them.

1. Stop comparing yourself to other people.
We are all individuals with different qualities and none of us are alike. Actually, none of us were meant to be the same. We start out life with different genes. We don't have the same values, desires, ambitions or dreams as other people. Would you really want to? So there is no point in comparing ourself against another person and judging our value on that basis.

Take for example a person who feels badly because he cannot afford to buy his wife that diamond watch she desires so badly for her birthday, like her best friend's husband did. He's not even thinking about whether his wife actually wants this watch. Maybe he and his wife have chosen to spend their money on creating a beautiful home instead. Or maybe the wife knows that her best friend's husband is unfaithful and it's guilt that's making him appear so generous. She values other qualities in her own husband. There are several reasons that cause you to compare yourself to other people around you, but stop beating yourself up already!

If there is any comparison to be made, it is just a question of comparing yourself with yourself!

2. Use empowering words when talking to yourself.
Try to avoid words like can't, should and must in your self talk. Talk to yourself as 'I' instead of 'you' and try to keep things positive. So for example, if you catch yourself saying to yourself, "You must improve your self esteem," immediately change it to, "I can improve my self esteem by following these tips."

3. Speak to others in an empowering way too.
People with low self esteem often have a hard time giving positive criticism to others. When people do something that we don't like, we tend to be afraid of the consequences of telling them. So we don't say anything right away. Instead we bottle up our feelings until they explode in an angry attack on the person.

You can use the same empowering words with others that you will use with yourself. Be good to yourself and stay focused and positive. Never think that you 'can't do something...you CAN do it! Your confidence is going to improve if you are having problems with it, fear not,...we'll get you back on the right track soon!  There are many effective ways to remedy low self esteem. However, the key to success in life is to recognize the existence of the problem in the first place! Therefore, consider where self esteem issues may be lurking in your life, but manifesting as apparently external problems. The key attitude for success in life is to take total responsibility for what happens to us. We must work upon ourselves continually in order to manifest what we want. Creating high self esteem is one of the best things you can ever do to totally transform every aspect of your life.

Be True to YOU!

There are oodles of different approaches that people can take towards the idea of changing or improving how they function socially. Want my opinion (unprofessional that is)? Do it for you, not for someone else. The biggest one is the idea of being true to your natural preferences and tendencies and not trying to change them for other people. Find yourself and define yourself on your terms. Oscar Wilde once said with his usual wit: Be yourself; everyone else is already taken. As humorous as this might seem, it's a basic summation of the truth. Yet, you can't be yourself if you don't know, understand, and accept yourself first. It should be your primary goal to find this out. Find the time to dwell upon what you value and take time to consider what makes up the essence of who you are. As part of this, contemplate your life and choices. Try to think about what kinds of things you would or wouldn't like to do, and act accordingly; finding out through trial and error helps more than you might think it does.

Almost everyone can find a niche they fit into

It's not true that if someone is different from the norm, their only option is to conform or be lonely and left out in the cold. Whatever you're like, and whatever you're into, you can probably find a group of like-minded people to fall in with if you look hard enough (even if there aren't people physically in your area, there's always the Internet and Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and so many others to follow and make friends through). People naturally sort themselves into groups based on similarities. Obviously, you're going to be happier, more accepted, and feel less constrained around people you have a lot in common with, and that's great, but never think that you have to change your life style and patterns to appease someone else, that's just hogwash.

You can often get by just fine by being yourself...

There are tons of people out there who differ from their friends or partners in some way, but they're still perfectly accepted and they very well should be. Maybe their friends all like football but they're up front about not particularly caring about it. However, since they're solid people in lots of other ways, they're still welcomed into the group. As a general rule, the more you have to offer socially in other areas, the more you can get away with differing from the majority on some issues and still be accepted. I like what I like...I think that just by simply being yourself you will fit in just fine, and if you don't I would really rethink that group of friends you want to associate with. The common thing a lot of people do is copy others' actions because it seems like the better route to fit in, but really, shouldn't you stand out? Standing out is very hard, yes, but you need to try avoid assuming other people's perspectives of you, even if it's not something you would normally do; that's what being yourself is all about!

So you are a little bit different than the average Joe...

Isn't that what makes you stand out? My grandmother used to always tell me "Michele, stop trying to fit in when you were born to stand out!" I took that advice and I ran with it. I didn't care what people thought of me and I still don't to a certain degree. Sure in a professional setting, but even so, I'm just me, and either you like me or you don't. Really, what's not to love? Yes, sarcasm is my super power.  I'm not seeking any one's approval. I'm not perfect, I'm misconstrued often, but that's my personality. Occasionally you'll meet people who are walking embodiments of the totally average, mainstream person. It must be convenient to go through life having your every urge and whim just happen to fall into line with what society prefers. However most people have a bunch of traits that are out of sync with whatever the social ideal is. They stay true to themselves anyways.I do what I do for "me" first and foremost. If someone is going to like me it is going to be for all of me...that means the good and the bad!

It's often your individual differences that make you so unique!

When you're with people, to a large extent it's your differences that set you apart from everyone else and make you desirable to be around. Your sense of humor is a little bit different (and funnier) than your other friends'. You know more about a certain topic than everyone else. You have a different perspective on life. Yeah, people often do like to hang out with friends who are a lot like them, but it is often the case that we appreciate someone who brings something novel to the table. What does this mean? Develop and totally express your individuality whether it's your sense of style, or even your manner of speaking, if your preferred way of doing something strays from the mainstream and produces positive outcomes, then be proud of it. Be a character, not a type. Learn to communicate well - the better you can express yourself, the easier it is for the people who like you as you are to find you and the ones who don't to just steer clear

Spice it up... life becomes more interesting!

I know this sounds cheesy, but life would be more boring if we were all exactly the same. Getting to be around a range of different people makes socializing more unpredictable and rewarding. In small doses even people's personality flaws spice things up a bit. If someone is totally flaky or bossy, that's just irritating as hell, and no one wants a control freak either, but if they have mild versions of those same traits, it just adds a little color. Jazz it up a little and have some fun with it...let your hair down and get a little crazy! You might enjoy it!

Some of the best things in life have come from people doing their own thing!

There are hundreds of examples so much so that it would take me all day just to name them but here are a few; in art, in science, in academic thought, in fashion. Someone went against the grain of the time and came up with something new and better. The only way they we are able to do that is because they held an outsider, non-majority perspective. They may have drawn some disapproval, but they didn't care because their vision was more important than getting along with every last person socially.Listen, there is something to be said about marching to the beat of your own drum...1) I find if more becoming, and 2) being different and wanting to do something else is fabulous! Never be afraid to take chances...life is far too short not to.

Treat yourself as you'd treat your own best friend!

You value your friends and those close to you; well, who is closer to you than you are? Give yourself the same kind, thoughtful, and respectful treatment that you give to other people you care about. If you had to hang out with yourself for a day, what is the most fun/enjoyable/fulfilled/calm/contented type of person you could be, while still being yourself? What is the best version of you? Believe in this idea and use that as your starting point. Love and accept yourself as you are now, just as you do for your close ones.
