12 Tips to Keep Your Relationship Uncomplicated

From across the room, you notice him noticing you…then there is the eye contact that leads to a smile. You have a brief moment to retaliate because you've already caught his eye. Saying hello could be the beginning of something really good so open your mouth and say it. This could be the threshold of a fantastic relationship that will grown over time, but you have to work hard at it to keep it. So here comes the anticipation… this leads to you wanting to see him/her more which leads to more dates and more excitement. The intrigue is there for you and you'll be wanting to see this person more and more as the time passes. Your sweet dates at the coffee shop or a nice dinner out move to dinner at his/her place and then next thing you know your drinking wine in his jacuzzi tub while he smokes his cigar starring into your eyes telling you how pretty you look.

Some people jump into relationships hoping that something will become of it and often that just doesn't happen, nonetheless, there are those people that are so fortunate enough to have met that one person that makes them smile and who leaves them longing for so much more. You can't fake this, so don't try. You either have it or you don't. Couples need affection and love. Massages, holding hands or hugging your partner shows him/her that you care. Affection is a necessity. It may not seem all that essential for the man but a women needs this sense of security and to feel wanted.

Relationships take weeks, months or even years to form and to grow and can take only minutes to shatter so do everything that you can to keep the energy moving in a positive effort. It takes two to make a great relationship. I've said it so many times and I continue to say that communication is key and if you can't communicate with your partner you are failing my friend. Find ways to show them that you genuinely care. Whether you choose a romantic evening with your bed covered in rose petals or a sexy piece of lingerie to wear while serving him dessert, crank up the heat, it's up to you to set the mood and the tone.

Relationships on the other hand can be quite vulnerable. You see, life is really simple, we just insist on making it complicated. We all make mistakes in relationships that we criticize ourselves for. Relationships are not meant to be complicated.

12 TIPS to keep your relationship uncomplicated… so that you can focus on the two of you and more romance:

1) Accept and embrace your flaws. We all have them, so accept that no one is perfect.

2) Stop comparing. Do not never ever compare your mate to any one else.

3) Let your partner be who they are. No need to camouflage your mate, don't try to change them. It won't work!

4) Don't be insensitive for heaven sakes…show them that you are listening and that you care.

5) Start showing your love this person. Show them affection, and that doesn't just mean sex when you go to bed. Touching is something that we all need and it is so easy to do. Rub their neck, kiss their cheek, hold their hand on the couch while watching a movie, or put your arm around them.

6) Say the words "I love you" to him/her. You ponder, are these words powerful? YES so why is it that a lot of men/women get them stuck in their throat trying to say them? If you love her, then tell her.

7) Don't judge your mate. They aren't your ex husband, or ex-wife, or your ex partner…they are themselves and you should adore them for their own quarks and qualities.

8) Stop examining the outer beauty and concentrate on their inner beauty. No woman likes to see her man starring at her tummy as if he is embarrassed of it, accept her beauty for what it is or find someone perfect…oh and good luck with that!

9) Let mistakes slide. What do I mean by this? Couples make mistakes, so learn to forgive the other person. Let the little things slide, we all make mistakes. We all get aggravated, but at the end of the day this is the person that will always have your back…and that is a good person to have in your corner.

10) STOP letting your high expectations of what you want out of a relationship get in the way of what you need. Every one deserves good things in life…so if you are with someone that is a Debbie Downer, this is dead weight and it very well could be a time to consider leaving this relationship. We need to be built up by positive people not brought down all the time by negative people. Surround yourself with positive people!

11) Stop saying YES when you want to say NO. You aren't always going to agree with one another on everything so voice your opinion even if it means not being the answer that they wanted to hear. This all happens with good communication. You have to tell your mate how you feel, or don't feel.

12) STOP making it ALL ABOUT YOU! You aren't the only person on this each that is having a bad day, or a bad life. Work might suck, life might suck, but suck it up. Your life isn't going to fall to pieces, and if it does, chances are you caused it, so don't drag your mate into your life of drama. You are in a relationship with someone so make it about the both of you.

Keeping The Sizzle In Your Relationship

Ask any man what happens most when they enter into a relationship with someone how they feel and they will tell you that they are with the hottest woman on the planet who seduces him ever chance she gets. He'll tell you that she is enticing and erotic. He'll say she has moves that rock his world. He'll tell you that he has a great love life and sex life. Men have a yearning for intimacy. They crave attention both mentally and physically. What I am hearing from a lot of men is that after they move in together or marry that it all goes from sizzle to fizzle. Why you ask? I'm not sure really...some women feel that they have to keep up a sensual portrayal in the relationship.

Some women do it in fear that they will lose their man if the sex diminishes over weeks, or months, or years. Ladies, if this is the case, you're out of your league and you went into a relationship with a lot of false expectations of what a real true relationship is. Sex is not the answer. YES it is fabulous, but there is much much more to a good relationship than just sex. That's the easy part. If this is what you've built your relationship on my friend, you are setting your relationship up for failure. Whether your relationship is new or you've been in it for 20 years, you have to keep it fresh and enjoy every day together.

Relationships are like a well blended recipe. You need the finest of ingredients to make the dish taste delicious. The same holds true with a good relationship. You need a friendship base mixed with a solid foundation first. You need to set boundaries. You need to communicate and most definitely know that you can trust this person. Without communication and trust you're relationship will sink like quicksand. My suggestion is to build a foundation with this person. Lay some ground rules and give one another the space necessary to not feel overwhelmed by a new relationship. Keep your friends, stay active and allow your mate to do the same.

Being in a relationship does not mean being attached to the hip with the person. It means that you have found someone that you like, or love and are fond of and want to develop more with them. Relationships don't happen over night. They take weeks, or even months to build. So many times I hear people say that they were all 'hot and heavy' at the beginning when they first started dating and after several months that went out the window. Teasing and pleasing are what keep a relationship alive.

I'm not a professional here BUT when you start off in any new relationship and give a man what he wants all the time at the drop of a hat, he tends to learn to expect it. Oh yeah sure sex in the middle of the night is erotic but what happens when you are together all the time and you have to cram for an exam, or wake up early for a conference call and you need your beauty sleep? He is not going to want to hear "baby no, I'm tired....not now!" Sex is a beautiful thing and being sensual with your partner is an intimacy that you share in and out of the bedroom. Sex isn't just something you do at night or in the bedroom for that matter. Try new things...and try them in new places. The kitchen, the billiard room or the laundry room? The bedroom isn't the only place to make whoopee!

I believe that in all relationships there is what I call 'give and take.' You give a little, he gives a little. You give a lot, he gives a lot. You have to learn what one another needs. You have to understand when you can lay it on thick and when you need to back off and give your partner space. No one wants to be suffocated in a relationship. You have to have much respect and trust for this person. You have to openly communicate with them and talk about your needs.

What mot couples tend to lack later in relationships is fun. The sizzle goes to fizzle because they laid it on thick at the beginning and now they seem boring perhaps? Not true...ask any red blooded man what he likes and he'll tell you foreplay. Ladies foreplay isn't a chore...it's a fun way of making your partner feel desired. Shop together online at SimplyDeliciousLingerie.com or SimplyLusciousLingerie.com for sexy intimate apparel that will crank it up a notch in the bedroom and every room. Role play in the bedroom. Step outside of your comfort zone every now and then. Try new things, but never make your partner feel that if you don't do something he'll be angry. Relationships are 50/50. It's a two way street my friend. Making it work is not easy, but my grandmother used to tell me that anything worth having is worth working for. The real deal is truly worth the wait and the effort.

Foreplay is something that you can do all day....Make your man feel the hunger. Give him something to crave. You need to slowly seduce him. Have fun, enjoy your relationship and build it day by day. Rome wasn't built over night, and neither are relationships. Chemistry is key and when you've got it, that's your main ingredient. Give him a sample of what is in store for him tonight when he arrives home. Make him thirsty for you. Believe me, making a man sit and think all day about what his lover is cooking up at home will be all that he has on his mind...and I'm not talking about dinner! Keeping the relationship alive and fun shouldn't take a lot of hard work. It takes knowing your partner well enough to keep the romance alive and with this the love will continue to grow. When you have this, your relationship will most definitely sizzle and in more ways than just bedroom fun.

One Sided Relationships...

Relationships are truly a give and take. It takes two to make it work, nonetheless only one to ruin it. Nothing in the world is as disheartening than when a man treats you poorly especially in a relationship that you thought was a relationship. Nothing is more inconsiderate than when he flirts, speaks of other women being 'hot' in front of you, or if he just ignores you. There are many ways of doing this so listen up. Before I start into this I must first state that given those of you who do treat your lady with respect and like a princess, you are truly the exception and perhaps the jackasses that think life is all about 'me, me, me' should read this and make some serious changes in their lives becoming more like all of you good guys.

When a women begins dating a man she has reservations. We all do. As days, weeks, or even months go by there is a certain limitation that one hits before she has to ask herself "Why do I even care about this man?" Have you made your relationship exclusive yet or is he beating around the bush? Is he seeing only you or are there others? Men love what they cannot have and men love the chase, ohhh but when they catch you the thrill is gone most often and we women end up with the short end of the stick clinging to promises and getting very little in return.

When a man that you have been seeing for some time hides his cell phone, puts it face down, or erases/deletes text messages that you asked to see, he is hiding something. Is he cheating? He may not think so, but he might as well be cheating. Flirting and sweet talking another woman while he is spending time with you is wrong, inconsiderate and uncalled for. When you are with someone and it has been long term (more than 6 months) and he has not changed his ways..ladies, it is time to seriously rethink your options regarding this one. He is not worthy of you or your love for that matter and I would say that you deserve so much better than the cards that you were dealt.

Relationships whether they have been deemed exclusive or not require honesty and most importantly communication. What happens though when the one you care for the most can't see the forest through the trees and can't make the connection that he is doing anything wrong? Does he have blinders on you ask, or is he riding today on the short bus? Some women, like myself stay single for a variety of reasons, but mostly because they fear getting hurt. How can we open our heart to love if we don't allow our heart to feel? Its a tough call, but when you meet that one man that makes everything else in your life seem minimal because he is all that you think about, breathe and dream about, you won't want to imagine your life with anyone else.Taking risks is what we do when we develop feelings for someone. They don't happen over night...but they happen if there is chemistry. Going out on a limb to make them happy before your own well being is a sign of compassion.

I believe that paths cross for a reason and I believe that we make our own destiny. I think that two people find their way and when they meet if it is real, the spark will never die. I believe that actions speak louder than words. Call me crazy but I want the fairy tale. I don't need the castle or the white picket fence. All you need is love. I want a groovy kind of love, with one man who wants me as much as I want him. Every woman longs to get complimented by a man and every woman desires to be loved. Wake up and smell the coffee guys...So, if you care for her, show her....if you love her, tell her...if you don't let her go, so that someone will love her the way that she deserves to be loved, don't you think she at least deserves that much?

2. Watch the Sunset

Find a great spot in your area to catch the perfect sunset together. Don't have one? It's time then for a 'road trip!' Find the perfect place to watch a sunset. Mine is at the beach with my toes in the sand and a good glass of wine in my hand. This is one of my favorite things to do and guess what? It doesn't cost a dime to do it.

Throw a picnic lunch together and find a shady spot to enjoy the day with your honey! Talk, laugh and make memories...its the little things that we women remember the most.

5. Play Card Games

My personal favorite!  Have a card night. Don't forget the wine and snacks to pass, that makes for even more fun! There are a lot of fun card games, but if this gets boring? How about a little strip poker? Now all bets are OFF! Make new fun playful memories as the layers literally unfold...

6. Have a Scavenger Hunt

Have a fun night out scavenger hunt. Think of some creatives fun ideas and work your magic! Making memories with your friends or that special someone is a special thing to do...and please... do remember the camera! Photos make the memories come alive years after the thrill and stories are gone. Loser has to make dinner for the winner!

7.How About Throwing a B.Y.O.E. Party?

This stands of Bring Your Own Everything. Guests are encouraged to bring food and drinks to share. Good times are fun times...and no one should get stuck in the kitchen making it all happen so help a friend out and have a BYOE party full of fun and good times with your close friends! It's a fun way to meet new people who your honey shops with, golfs with, works with, etc., and a great way to get out and have some fun on a weekend evening!

8. Have a Bonfire or Campfire

Make s'mores, cuddle and drink wine by the camp fire and reminisce about good times and future plans with your honey.

9. Go Get Some Ice Cream
Hit up your local ice cream shop and indulge in your favorite dish! Get that sweet tooth craving and march on out to your local ice cream shop. Not feeling like hitting up the local ice cream store...then go to the market and pick up some ice cream, cherries, whip cream and take it home to make body sundaes with your honey...that is romantic and erotic!

10. Make Your Honey a Romantic Dinner

Plan a romantic, candlelight dinner for your spouse or loved one. Listen guys..romance need not be super expensive! It has been said that it is the thought that counts and how much time your guy/lady put into the thought process of the evening...those are the memories that you will endure and always keep close to your heart.

11. Try Grilling Something New...Get Sassy with some BBQ!

Try a new grilling recipe...every woman is addicted to Pinterest, so find something fun to make and give it a whirl! Add a little zing to your lifestyles and spice it up. It's time to take this relationship to a new level.

12. Go to the Zoo

It has been said that it makes us feel good when we vent, and by vent I mean; go talk to the animals! Zoos are fairly inexpensive if you pack your own lunch and avoid the unnecessary extras. Make a fun day out of it! You may even make some new fury friends too! Yes go to the zoo, and then go home and kick it up a notch by getting a little wild in the bedroom...Be the hunter and allow her to be your tigress...she will slip into something sensual and erotic for some bedroom fun from Simply Delicious Lingerie! Connections, Fate, and Romance...

Many times I am asked if I believe in fate? On occasion people ask me if I believed in paths crossing for a reason? The answer to both is YES, I do!  My question is "Are you a hopeless romantic?" Do you believe in paths crossing? It happens and this is called fate, my friend. You see, every now and again fate steps in and gives you a piece of happiness that you didn’t think you deserved, and then as fast as it enters your life, it exits. Sound familiar?   Have you ever gone somewhere and met someone who you just ‘clicked’ with and wondered if he/she could be the one?

Have you ever felt something immediately when you made a connection with someone who stayed in your mind, and in your heart for as long as you can remember? A place stands out in your mind, a special song, or the smell in the salty air? It might have been something as little as their smile…nonetheless, that person changed your way of thinking and at that moment put an extra skip in your step all of a sudden.

My advice (non-professionally that is) is that when you meet someone, when fate steps in, take a chance. There is no time like the present. Say hello to that person and make conversation. Laugh with them. Go out of your way to get his/hers attention and when you do, find a way to captivate them so that you stay in their head for a long time. Speaking of time, timing is essentially everything. There are times that people come into our lives when the connection just won’t work for a variety of reasons or because one or the other of you is not ready.

There are times where years go by, or even a decade and then one day you wake up after thinking of this person who has been tucked away in the back of your mind, and you ask yourself why you met him/her all those years ago? What was the purpose? Why did it not last, and is there a chance that you can rekindle the flame?  I am a firm believer in second chances. I am a true connoisseur of romance… I had a situation in my life-like this a decade ago when I met someone who stood out and stuck in my head. Regardless whether anything would now or could ever again happen, he will always be called my friend.

He was a vision of the perfect man who was funny and kind and when he smiled he lit up the room. We met at a bar on the beach while I was out with a friend. He approached our table and we immediately made a connection and clicked. For 4 days he spent time getting to know me and then when it was time for me to leave. I was given the most beautiful goodbye. A man who barely knew me standing on his pick up truck waving to me as my plane took off on the runway. He crossed over onto private property just so that I could see him. He took a risk for me. He hauled ass to the airport to see me before I boarded my plane, but he was too late. We boarded early. Was that a sign?

Everyday people do things that surprise us. People, who were complete strangers to me on my plane could not get over the affection that one person could display, and this man did something that will stay with me and in my memory until the end of time. Even though this man has not seen me in several years, he made me a better person. I can still see his smile, and I can still hear his laughter if I close my eyes and listen in my mind. He taught me not afraid to follow my dreams, and he gave me the inspiration to go after what I truly believed in, just like he followed me to the airport.  It’s been nearly 10 years since I met this man, and once in passing about 7 years ago I saw him again while visiting the beach with my friends. At a glance our vehicles passed at a supermarket and our eyes met. I knew it was him.

Second chances? I had always hope and believed in them...I had hoped that this was my second chance and I felt that if he truly wanted to see me he would make an attempt to contact me. 4 days went by and I heard nothing…so I figured that was it…he must have moved on and married or met someone and was happy, and I was not going to be the women to rock the boat. His happiness was important to me because that's the kind of gal I am always putting others needs before my own. It just baffled me that we connected again for a split second and that was it?

It was the end of our long 4 day Memorial Day Weekend at the beach. It wasn’t until we were picking up last-minute souvenirs at a local beach store when a friend and I were sitting in the car and noticed something under my windshield wiper. When I got out of the car and pulled the card from underneath the wiper blade, it was wet and the writing was smeared, but it said “I’m sorry, I wasn’t ready then…” on the reverse side was his phone number on the business card. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry? We communicated after I made it back home again for a short while and then just like the first time he disappeared into thin air.

Every year around this time I think of him as we met on Memorial Day Weekend on a hot sticky muggy night at a little bar on the beach called Harold’s on the ocean. Every year around this time I ponder “what if?” Every time I go back to the beach I walk into Harold's on the ocean hoping for that connection again to rekindle the friendship that started all those years ago.  Every visit I hope to open the door and just see him standing there with a smile.  Life is full of surprises and we are blessed with those around us and who grace us with their presence. I am and always have been a live for the moment kind of gal and although this man left my life as quickly as he entered it, he will forever remain in my head. Sometimes, something like this only comes around once in a lifetime; so if this is happening to you, seize the moment. Take the chance...you may never have another one. Your heart will guide you to make the right decisions. You must have fate my friends...for special circumstances often only come around once.  Don't let your dreams get washed away...

Are You Crazy... or Just Falling in L-O-V-E?

L-O-V-E... is probably one of the most powerful words in the English language. These four letters are a whole lot more than just telling someone you love them. What about showing them? Often, it can be a constant struggle resulting in endless efforts to show your mate that you truly mean it by your actions. My grandmother used to always say that actions speak louder than words, and I believe that to be true, nonetheless, those three powerful words are the words that every man/woman longs to hear. When you start dating someone, you never really know where it is heading? It could go well, or it could turn out as a big disaster.

Chemistry is key, but communication is imperative. Before you find love there is friendship. The two after time go hand in hand. Some might ask themselves..."Am I crazy or just falling in love?" You my friend are the only one that truly has the answer to that question. Please do not misconstrue what I say from what I mean as my intentions are not to make anyone angry. You can be quite happy with someone in a relationship and just date them. You do not have to ever feel pressured to say the words "I love you." If there is pressure, there is possession, (your first red flag) and you my friend better run for your life now before it's too late.

Word of Advice; Don't tell someone that you love them one minute then do something hurtful and selfish the next like sleeping with their friend, revisiting a dating site ‘just because’ someone may have shown some interest in you, or ignore their calls. The list of “no-nos” is forever endless. Women take things so personal where as most men don’t even think that they are doing anything wrong. Really? Guys you better shape up or that woman that you’re telling you love will hit the road and by the time you figure out what it was that you did wrong she’ll be long gone and you my friend will be like the song goes “Dust in The Wind!”

You don't tell someone you love him or her and never make an effort to show them. There are countless ways that these simple words can express your feelings such as cuddling with them or holding their hand and reassuring them you will always be there for them no matter what. Drawing them a hot bath at night with a glass of wine to end the day, tucking them into bed and ‘not’ expecting to have sex because you know that they’ve had a rough day, cooking them dinner, planning a weekend getaway, or just smiling at them with that look in your eye that you get when you are with her/him that makes you go absolutely crazy!

Love is something rare. Love is something that if you are lucky enough to experience once in your lifetime you should be most grateful. Twice, or more is simply like seeing a shooting star. So many people say that they love their partner but do they really know the true meaning and how much emphasis goes along with it? No, saying that you love someone doesn’t mean its followed by a marriage proposal, it simply means that you’ve met your match and he/she is all that you can think about, want, or need. It means wanting to spend your time getting to know them more. It means opening your heart to new things and letting your guard down.

There is a certain sense of reassurance that also goes along with love. To love one must first trust. Without trust, there is no love nor should there even be a relationship for that matter. No woman or man wants to go around second guessing what their partner/mate/lover is or is not doing and with whom. Love is about maturity and communication. My grandmother used to say that  to love is like making the perfect casserole. You need all of the right ingredients. Without even just one of them the dish won’t be the same and it certainly won’t have the appeal, desire or taste. Love and communication go hand in hand. One must build a relationship on a solid foundation. If the foundation is not solid, and if you or your mate lies, cheats, and or is deceptive in the relationship in any way, you’ll sink like quick sand. It’s not to late to rebuild that foundation if you’re beginning to sink now…Love is about fault, and mistakes and learning to accept that person for the good and bad. Love is about understanding why one does the things that he or she does. When two people love one another, there is nothing that can or will get in their way.

If you are middle aged like myself and you keep trying to meet the right man and time after time you are let down, then he is not the one for you. Many men and women have commitment phobias. My non-professional advice? Shit or get off the pot my friend. It’s real simple. Don’t say that you love someone if you cannot back that ass up. Words such as ‘I love you’  are so easy to say but so difficult to take back, so if you aren’t sure, don’t be a schmuck and say that you do. You never want to give someone false hope. That’s mean and so wrong on so many levels.

Dating Sites and looking for L-O-V-E or L-U-S-T?

Dating sites seem to be the route to take these days to finding love, and there are plenty of them out there to choose from…but what it if you don't desire love, rather lust? What if you aren't looking for the husband, kids and white picket fence? What if marriage was not an option? What if a past relationship went south and you just weren't cut out for more heartache? What if you don't want the whole enchilada that goes along with commitment or marital bliss? What if you are just seeking a lover, a NSA kind of guy? What if you just want a 'boy toy' if you will? Someone to give you an exclusive membership to their very own pleasure ride in the sky...their personal 'mile high club?' A man who you don’t want to be married to rather just share your private and alone time with a few times a month on intimate dinners, weekend getaways and travel, then you go your separate ways until your next encounter or get together? You might just find a certain kind of desired love and lust with this that brings you both together even stronger with every new rendezvous. Yes...sometimes you can have your cake and eat it too!

When I think about meeting a man and dating him, or being his lover, I think about two people, at first strangers coming together to form a certain sense of harmony and really connecting on a variety of levels. When I think about a relationship whether it be long term or short term, the questions is not how long will it last rather, how good do these two people mesh together each time the unite? It takes two special people coming together and feeling a connection, first via emails, texts, and the phone and then in person. Many things go into this to make all the good things unfold, but oh if you plan this out and together make goals and commitments of some sort it will all fall into place and it very well can be a win/win for both of you. What is this you ponder? It’s called synchronicity.

Need me to spell it out for you? It is the phenomenon of meaningful things happening together in such a way that they are creatively linked, although one thing did not cause the other. It is as if there is a pattern to the events that is showing you that you are going in the right direction...and the right direction is always good. When you put forth effort and enthusiasm, it shows you are genuine and sincere. You're not playing games, you're both adults and deserve to be treated as such.
So many things go into the full equation of asking; “Is he really the one that will make me happy?” or “Is he going to be discreet and respect me?” If he is the right guy for you, then getting together should be like a walk in the park. Don’t sweat the small stuff…that’s what I tell my friends. Making a connection with someone is not easy at all, in fact when you meet on line it can be even more difficult because you’ve viewed a profile and determined that you like or dislike him or her. If you do like them you proceed to get to know more about them because there is some sort of an attraction and there is so much more to an individual than simply their profile alone. As long as you are completely honest and have excellent communication skills all will be fine, not to worry. Just be YOU! You will find everything falling into place as if it was 'meant to be'. If there are obstacles now and then, they will be overcome; generally, your path will be smooth because you both went into this type of relationship with the same expectations not only as friends, but lovers.
Not every chance encounter is magical. There may be some negative affects to meeting someone; sometimes you may meet the right person at the wrong time. Synchronicity is not there and if you try to force a relationship to happen, it will hit a brick wall, and ouch, you don’t want that! My strong non-professional advice would then be that should this happen to you; you’d better to let him go. If he is your Mr. Right, he will come back into your life again later, when it is the right time for both of you. I always say ‘don’t push fate’ it has to happen on its own.

You may be looking for weeks or months for someone special and not find him, then one day you may be getting ready to close out a membership for a dating site and see a message from someone and decide to read it…it very well could be that one message that caught your eye was all that it took to produce a wonderful new friendship and passion in your life. Erotic and exotic fun may have just hit a new level. As Alanis Morissette once sang Isn't it "Ironic" don't ya think? Ironic that a cosmic connection such as this may just be explosive and then you can really kiss the dating sites goodbye!
