Avoid Desperate Men

Women love dating men with high values, integrity, morals, and those who are honest and successful. They like to see men who are confident and real, not phony bologna. They want to feel like you need them... but only if you already have your own life, your own ambitions, and your own goals. Women do not like nor do we want men that drive us insane. The moment a man becomes too clingy in a relationship, a woman will run for the door, and who can blame her? Women are not attracted to the type of man who needs too much support, validation, and the ever so constant reinforcement. Remember guys, you are trying to attract women, not turn them off. Below are 5 signs that you are being too needy, so... if you suffer from any of these signs of neediness, you need to stop those actions immediately. If there’s anything a man shouldn’t be – it’s desperate.

1. You call, email, and text wayyyyy too much

You start calling and texting a woman you just began dating several times a day. You are over-texting her, leaving message after message on her voice mail, and even driving past her house to see if she is home since she is NOT responding to your calls or texts. You don’t need to be checking in every two hours. If you want to run a woman off quickly, this is one of the best ways to do it so chill...

2. You are overly-emotional and you whine....
You share all of your feelings with women right away, you always doubt yourself and you need constant reassurance about your relationship, work and friendships. Most women look for a strong partner they can lean on. So if you are always leaning on her, she might doubt your ability to do this. Remember, women want a man who is confident and independent--not insecure and dependent. Stop being a baby and act like a grown man.

3. You always make yourself available

You are too available. Women don’t want men who are always available because it makes them think that you don't have a life of your own, making you far less desirable. Listen, being a challenge to a woman makes you more desirable. When you meet a woman you like, show interest in her, but ensure that you keep your regular schedule and don't be available every single day.

4. You do whatever she wants
you to do....
You let a woman walk all over you and then continue to be her doormat and allow it over and over, giving up things you really value in an effort to align your life with her wishes. Wake up buddy...no one deserves to be treated like this, not by anyone. Women are not looking for a man who agrees with everything they say. They are looking for confident men someone who can stimulate their minds with intelligent conversations and not bore them out of their minds. Are you picking up what I'm laying down here?

5. You need constant reassurance
You constantly need to hear how great you are and you constantly need a woman to stroke your ego. This is a sign that you have low-self esteem and a poor self-image of himself. This behavior can become tiresome to most women because they don't want to deal with a guy that needs constant assurance. It's too much work, you are too much work.

What we want strong and independent men....So listen, strength does NOT mean that men cannot cry, they will and they must because before being man, they are human. It is vital that someone listens to how THEY feel as well, men are more fragile than women. Men,  If a woman is interested in you, you will know,  believe me you will. If she isn’t however, please STOP hounding her! It creeps the average woman out and you’re completely screwed if it’s a strong woman that you’re dealing with.

Most average women will say “Eww… he keeps bothering me all the time!” The strong, articulate woman will just know up-front that it’s the eww-factor because if there’s ONE thing a woman relies on a man for – it is for strength (be it physical or mental).  What’s the point of being with some needy guy who won’t let you out of his sight for 10 minutes and blows up your phone with messages of “Where are you? And why don’t you answer the phone”. Guys, if you do this – BE PREPARED for the woman to just to tell you to go straight to hell. Some will be polite about it; others like me will not be concerned at all about how we come across. It’s creepy guy won’t leave you alone and wants to make you “His World.” Just let it go....

Customer Service = Self Confidence

Let's face it, dealing with the public every day can be at times down right difficult, and nobody knows it better than those who work in the customer service industry. Hi! Welcome to my world. Not only do I own a few online businesses where I have to deal with people over the phone and via email regarding orders placed, but I also work a retail job a few days a week for a company that I love, love love! I took this job because I am a people person and as much as I loved working from home with my two lingerie businesses, I surely did miss the interaction with customers. I am a people person for those of you who don't know me, and I am the happiest when I am surrounded by my team at work doing something that I enjoy doing...selling!

With angry customers, and even demanding bosses that show little respect, it can really drag down your self-confidence. No one wants or needs that, and it's very unhealthy. Sometimes the job itself can cause a lack of confidence if the worker feels like he or she should have a better job. Don't feel bad about yourself because you're working in customer service. In tight economic times, many people turn to jobs in the food service and retail industries. I can honestly say that working again after so many years in the business most customers are very cordial, however, there have been stories that I have heard from others about how rude and ruthless customers can be. To these people I ask...have you no conscious? Do you not have any respect for normal honest people living their daily life trying to support themselves and their families? Do you actually think that you are superior to these retail employees and businesses? If so, boy do I feel sorry for you. Come down off your high horse and get a grip before someone smacks you into tomorrow. My advice to those of you who fit this description; have a little respect, it goes a long way!

If you start to believe that you're "better than" the job, you're only setting yourself up to feel down about yourself. Look at your work experience as an adventure, a chance to observe humanity. The saying may be that "the customer is always right," but don't believe in this at the expense of your own pride and self-worth. Customers aren't in the right when they are belligerent and belittling towards customer service representatives. Don't allow them to let you think less of yourself.

While many customer service jobs involve working face to face with customers, others involve taking phone calls. If you're working at a call center, the potential for abuse from customers can be even greater since they're most likely calling you because they have a problem. Don't I know it...I worked for a call center once in a mortgage department and people were down right nasty. If I heard the term "YOU PEOPLE" one more time I was going to throw the headset and the damn phone right out the window. Don't let a caller's attitude towards you affect your own feelings of confidence in yourself in and your abilities. If a customer gets angry, you should also avoid responding in kind. If a customer is upset, you'll only make things worse by becoming mean yourself and you'll only feel bad about the situation later. If you are going to talk negative about a customer, for goodness sakes, make sure that the headset is muted. Take it from me, it's not pretty if what you think you're saying is private turns out to be 'not so private' when you suddenly hear a pause and a scream on the other end followed by the sound of the phone being hung up and silence!

On a similar note, don't take anything too personally. If you're the cashier at grocery store, you're likely to hear complaints about the slow workers at the deli counter, the high price of milk and the number of sale items that weren't on the shelves. If you work for a gas station, you're going to hear people yap about the high cost of gas  when the barrel has now dropped below $85.00

If this happens, you should certainly be sympathetic of their plight and refer them to management if necessary, but realize that they're complaining about things that are completely unrelated to your individual job. You can only control how positive the customer's experience is when they're right in front of you. You shouldn't feel bad just because their discontent is being directed at you. Now, if a customer does lodge a complaint against you, then you should listen carefully to the issue. Make the necessary corrections, using the problem to your advantage to improve your work, but don't dwell on it. Everyone makes mistakes and one complaint doesn't mean you're a horrible person.

Treat everyone with respect, and you will get respect in return. If you're in a management position, assert your authority in a way that doesn't demean your workers. If you're the underling, listen to those in management positions, and if you have a problem with them, take it up through appropriate channels. Picking a fight with those in authority only leads to bad feelings and an unpleasant work environment.

Come to work with a positive attitude. Your fellow workers may be negative, but you don't have to let them color your view of the situation. Don't let someone else rain on your parade! If you have a good attitude about the entire work experience, you're less likely to let small things get you down and will feel better about yourself overall.

Do the best job you can, even if you're doing the most menial task possible. Cleaning bathrooms certainly isn't glamorous, but it's vital to creating a positive experience for customers. If you take pride in your work, you'll have pride in yourself. When you do quality work, you're also more likely to get praise, raises and promotions, which are always confidence boosters.

Overall, the best advice for workers is to have a positive attitude and maintain a sense of perspective. Will the customer that just yelled at you really matter tomorrow? Don't take it to heart...just brush it off. Don't let it eat away at you because if you do, it will! Then don't let it drag you down today. If you keep this in mind, you'll be able to emerge from the world of customer service with your confidence intact!

How Do You Manage Your Time?

There are a variety of ways that we can manage our time. I know myself, personally regardless of the ways that there are often for me the issues at hand are not how to manage it rather where to find enough time in the day to do it all? Sound familiar? You're not alone...there are days when I wake up and want to pull the covers back over my head because the list of things to do is so long. Needless to say, we find ways to cope with it. What we end up doing more often than not is stressing over this and that is not good for anyone. Clear your head, and take a deep breath. I have the answers as to how you can take some control over this issue.

I have listed  a few strategies you can use to manage your time in a better and more efficient manner;

1. Always define your goals as clearly as possible.
Do you find you are not doing what you want to do just because your goals have not been set properly yet? This is common, and you aren't the only one to be struggling sister...many of us do.

One of the factors which make successful and happy people stand out is their ability to work out what they want to achieve and have written goals which they can review them constantly. Your long term goals should impact on your daily activities and be included on your "to do" list. Without a goal or objective people tend to just drift off personally and professionally. If you have your list, stick to it. In the long run you will save time allowing more "you" time!

2. Analyze your use of time.
Are you spending enough time on the projects which although may not be urgent now but are things that you need to do to develop yourself or your career? If you are constantly asking yourself “What can I do to make things easier for me right now?" it will help you to focus on 'important tasks' and stop reacting to tasks which seem urgent (or pleasant to do) but carry no importance towards your goals. If you have a spouse and children your job i seven more difficult and the days just keep getting shorter. Try getting and using a personal calendar, setting reminders on your computer, cell phone or personal organizer.

3. Have a plan.
How can you achieve your goals without a plan? I don’t even think that is possible. If I didn't have things written down each day I would not only forget half of the list but I would not manage my time well at all. Most people know what they want but have no plan to achieve it except by sheer hard work. What’s the point in doing hard work when you don’t know how to apply it? Successful people make lists constantly. It enables them to stay on top of priorities and enable them to remain flexible to changing priorities. This should be done for both personal and business goals.

4. Action plan analysis.
Problems will always happen when you set a plan. The value of a good plan is to identify them early and seek out solutions immediately. Good time management enables you to measure the progress towards your goals because "What you can measure, you can control".

Always try to be proactive in the achievement of successfully managing your time!! This is KEY!
Time management is not a hard subject to understand, but unless you are committed to building better time management techniques into your daily routine you'll only achieve partial (or no) results and end up right back where you started. You have to commit to managing your time better and remember to include time for yourself.
The lesson that you need to learn is that the more time we spend planning our time and activities the more time we will have for those activities. By setting goals, eliminating time wasters and doing this everyday, you may find you will have extra time in the week to spend on those people and activities most important to you.

Perfumes and Celebrity Endorsements

Everyone loves following celebrity gossip and news...who doesn't? Ahhh, and the celebrities know just how to keep us coming back for more too! Why not come out with a perfume or cologne that has their name on it? Whether it smells good or not to all of us is no big concern for them because they are selling it and we are buying it. There is a difference between buying a no name and a celebrity name perfume or cologne. In comparison, it's like walking into a local store and buying a little black dress or stepping into Michael Kors and buying one...is there a difference? Oh you bet there is a super huge difference. To some people it is all about the 'tag' or label' attached to it that really matters. Labels talk and along with the name on the label come a hefty price tag to boot! Let's talk about perfumes, colognes and celebrities.

Fragrance and perfume are big time business in the world market today, and nothing helps sell more than celebrity. In the United States alone, the fragrance industry was worth over $26 billion as recently as 2007. Putting a celebrity name with perfume is a much used strategy to help fragrance companies get a piece of that $26 billion pie. So are celebrity fragrances worth the price tag attached to them? They are often expensive, but in an effort to succeed, a lot of research and development may go into the scents. Whether or not they are worth it is more up to what it is you enjoy wearing more than who is endorsing it.

When it comes to these celebrity fragrances, you need to decide if you are paying for the fragrance or the name and marketing. Some of them are very generic or easily duplicated scents that get the name and a healthy price tag. Others, though, are actual unique scents that the celebrity actually helped design or at least endorses because of a genuine love of the scent. So before putting your hard earned dollars into a fragrance with a celebrity name attached, you should take a look at what is out there and whether or not you can get the same affect without that celebrity price tag attached.

Britney Spears endorses her own fragrance. In an effort to piggy back her Louisiana roots; Spears’ scent actually reflects that background. It is a mixture of the fragrance of magnolia with some jasmine added in. There are also hints of Anjou pear and lotus flower. Many enjoy the scent, but you may be able to find a similar blend without the celebrity name and price tag attached to it.

Donald Trump of real estate and “Apprentice” fame even has his own fragrance. It is described as spicy and peppery which comes from a mixture of mint, cucumber and black basil. It also has what the maker describes as an exotic plant they are keeping secret. The scent really is unique so that if it is something you enjoy it is unlikely you will be able to find a similar fragrance. This one is actually original and perhaps worth the price tag that comes with the celebrity endorsement.

Beyonce Knowles famous scent was called True Star. This is another original scent that may be worth checking out. True Star actually combines floral fragrances with toasted grain undertones making it a little unlike anything else out there. It is not necessarily something you could duplicate at home, but with the price tag that comes with it you should make sure it is exactly what want in a fragrance.

Paris Hilton, the heiress who is famous for being famous, has a fragrance as well, called, yes you guessed it, Paris Hilton. This is a very sweet and floral fragrance that is not unlike a lot of others out there. It may be difficult to truly duplicate the sandalwoods, jasmine, mimosa, and lily scents in it completely, but there is really nothing overwhelmingly unique to justify the celebrity price tag that comes with it. Is it worth it? It is obviously a judgment call, but make sure you look before you leap on this one. Hey, I really happen to like this one, but then again I am a floral kind of gal when it comes to perfumes.

My favorite perfume though is Jessica McClintock. Now that's a beautiful floral scent and you can find it at Macy's, Dillards, Nordstroms, Sax, Fifth, Neiman Marcus or any of your department stores and even some perfume boutiques and outlet shops.

Jessica Simpson has lent her name to Taste, a perfume. This one is unique in the combination and Simpson was actually involved in the development of it. It is a combination of vanilla, white chocolate, and even coconut and honey. It can be described as sensual and tropical and fairly unique. It may very well be worth a look for the money.

Celebrities will endorse anything they can. Let's face it, fame sells and marketers know that! So besides shoes, clothes, cars, games, and even soap, fragrances are also being endorsed and named after celebrities. The fragrance industry is a huge one globally and anything that will help a manufacturer get a piece of it will get their full attention. So, with that in mind, it is hard to know if the perfume is worth your dollars just because of the name on it. So is it worth it? It actually depends on what the fragrance is like. Sometimes it is a generic blend of colon fragrances with a celebrity name and price tag attached. In my opinion in this particular case, they're making money on something that they really don't use themselves or support, and in other situations it is unique and actually something the celebrity himself of herself enjoys.

The decision, in the end, is yours, but make sure you are cautious and as always with fragrances, try them on. Take the time to pop into your favorite store and go to the perfume counter. Sample several until you find what smells best on you. Remember, everyone's PH Levels are different so what smells great on your BFF might not smell all that great on you. Whether it be a celebrity perfume you wear or something that is just a favorite of yours, enjoy the aroma and feel good about YOU!

Nice Girls Finish Last...

When you are a nice girl, everyone loves you because you take care of everyone else. You are alluring, and have an exquisite way with words, your style is appealing, you are everyone's friend, your sense of humor is like that of no other and your mentality level is off the charts. What's wrong with that? Absolutely NOTHING, so don't change who you are for a minute! You have the positive outgoing demeanor, you have that 'conquer the world' type attitude, you put everyone else first before yourself, and you are a giver. Your presence is your mannerism, you know your true value, and you have a high level of sincerity and integrity.

Have you ever wondered why nice girls have a hard time getting the men they want? When does being nice become a turn off to men? What is it about nice girls that make guys run for the hills? My findings are that guys are turned on by nice girls but they are just as easily turned off by certain things that they do. Maybe women are too independent and men feel the need to be the power force in a relationship? Men love to come to the rescue like Superman and save the day. Guess what? In today's society, we women are very independent and we are Superwoman, or Supermom. We take control of our own destiny. Times have changed and we no longer are the type of women that our mothers and grandmothers were. We can actually stand on our own two feet quite well. If something breaks we fix it. If someone hurts us we bounce back.

Is there a down fall to being this way (nice)? There is absolutely nothing wrong with being nice. The problem comes up when you're just too nice because it makes you an easy target to get dumped, walked on or mistreated. Most men that I know of enjoy the thrill of the chase. Nice women lay their cards on the table and make it real easy to read what they want and how they feel. This is why some men are more drawn to girls who are more apt to say what is on their mind even when it's the complete opposite of what their men think. The one thing with nice girls that turn guys off is they cease to be a challenge. Sad, but in this day and age it is true. I guess being a bad ass bitch who will walk all over them is what they desire more? Perhaps this is why they go through relationships after relationships that only last a short time yet there is never no true commitment?

My guess is that they are dealing with some of their own inner demons and can't be happy with a nice girl because we get boring after a while. Some men like the rush, the excitement and everything that goes with it. Have you ever heard a man say "Its not you, its me"? He may be saying that but what he really means is "Its not me, its you". Chances are good that when it comes to commitment, the problem is you.  I know that's a tough pill to swallow. You may feel you do everything right and you are an awesome girlfriend. You probably are an awesome girlfriend but that is not necessarily what triggers those deeper feelings in a man. The things you are doing to be an great girlfriend could very well be the things that keep him from committing. You're too nice!

 Being Too Nice
Although guys like girls who are nice, there's such a thing as being too nice. If you're too nice that becomes a difficult thing to live up to. A guy may feel that he has to be almost perfect to be good enough. The other problem with being too nice is that, as a woman, you may feel that this means you always have to go along with whatever he says or whatever he wants to do. You don't want to argue or rock the boat in any way. Although your heart is in the right place this can old, pretty fast for a guy. He'd rather have some teasing and lively debates. He wants a companion; someone who knows her own mind, not a yes woman.

Share Responsibilities in Communication

Even though guys like to get their own way most of the time, and they may always think that they are right, believe it or not, they don't want that all the time.If you don't change, there will come a point where his frustration will boil over and you'll be left wondering what went wrong because you were always so accommodating. This is a big reason why nice girls finish last. We are the peace maker, the silent partner and the one who thinks before she speaks, and the one who listens, and the one who can read between the lines better than you think. Relationships are not one sided. It takes two to make them work. If the foundation is not set properly it will fail. Talking about it and being honest will help you to understand what went wrong, why you aren't the one for him, or vica versa, and you'll feel better knowing that you were open about it.

If You're Too Easy Going... STOP!

As a nice girl it has for so long been said that you may not want to make waves, take my advice...make them! MAKE BIG WAVES! Stand your ground and be YOU because you can't let a guy walk all over you. Get angry once in awhile and speak about why you're upset. If you just accept whatever he does without saying anything, he'll only keep doing it. Then you'll be left stewing in silence with your blood boiling over.So if he's supposed to take you out, or call, and he doesn't do it, let him have it. Otherwise, he'll use you, knowing that you'll let it go. And guess what? Things will only get worse. Some men however find that nice woman are just that, super sweet, loving, good looking and kind...sometimes that's still not enough. Cut your loses. You deserve someone who is in it to win it, and by winning it I mean your love and affection whole heartily. Never settle for less ladies, there is someone out there just waiting for a nice woman like you, so don't give up and don't think for a minute that a month from now he won't be kicking himself for a bad decision based on how his penis thinks and not his real head.

Can you see now why nice girls finish last so often? If you can, that's great but what are you going to do about it? Remember, you can be nice without being one of those nice girls who can't keep the guy.
I listen to men talk over and over about what they want in relationship and physical attraction. Chemistry I say is important but communication is key just the same. The problems lies within, most men are far from perfect and have their own insecurities and bad habits but they all want the dream girl. What does this dream gal do? Well, she inspires a man to want to be with her, spend time with her, respect her, possibly take her to forever. She does this with a feminine grace that is hard for a man to resist. She is fun, playful, has boundaries and does not badger or nag to get what she needs out of a relationship. Fellas, you are in la-la land if you think that this dream girl is going to love you more than someone with all of the other rare qualities I mentioned above. If you want a fantasy girl, by a blow up doll. She'll be everything you want her to be.

Relationships are like finding the perfect fitting shoe. They just don't come in your size, you have to grow into them.

What is Greed?

Greed is a term that describes ruthless people with naked ambition, people with an insatiable appetite for riches, those who give new meaning to the word selfish. Greed evokes images of the rich and famous playing with lavish toys such as luxurious yachts, expensive furs, and mansions that resemble palaces. Think women dripping in diamonds and middle-aged men in expensive sports cars. To greedy people, it’s as much about flaunting material trappings as it is about winning the game...but greed isn't just about being rich, in fact there are greedy people that I know that have little money, but they are ruthless in a variety of ways that shames the society in which we live. You cannot bring greed out of a selfless person; you can only bring up to the surface personality traits that were already there. People blame "society" for their problems when they don't want to take responsibility for their own actions.

It’s critical, however, not to equate success and wealth with greed. The fact is, many successful people give generously of their wealth and/or their time. It’s also true that you don’t have to be particularly wealthy in order to be able to give. As Mother Teresa once said, “If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed one.” Sad as it is in today's society, I know people that wouldn't even want to feed one. My question is what the hell happened? For me, this is quite difficult because I was raised in a household where we loved not only one an other, but we loved and cared for many. I was raised to do for others and then do for myself, which is how I still am and how my children have been raised. Not all people think like me though and put everyone else ahead of themselves.

Let's look at stages of greed shall we?

How many of you recognize this type? I worked for a woman that fit this to a "T" a few years ago. I call her the “bystander." Oh they do everything they can to get out of work which makes them very greedy people. While colleagues work at a frantic pace doing all of the work, selfish people work hard to avoid it at all costs. They spend their days looking busy and important moving piles of papers on their desk and acting like they have a lot of work to do while they watch everyone else go crazy. These people wouldn’t lift a finger if their life depended on it...and why the hell should they, they'll sit back and reap the rewards of doing the job by them self while the person (people) that actually did all the work gets little or no credit at all.

How about those who "cheat the system?"  Greedy people look for clever ways or loopholes to outsmart rules and regulations, designed to protect the system, for personal gain. Although their actions may be entirely legal, greedy people evade their responsibilities by offloading the costs to others. This type of person is the "all about ME" person that wants it all and basks in the glory. Greedy people also have very strong opinions about issues but expect others to shoulder the burdens.Shame on you.

Greedy and selfish people are what I call the "something for nothing" kind of people....
I know this type and I'm sure that you do too! They are first in line to ask for more but last in line to put in the work required to earn the rewards. Instead of adopting the view that everyone benefits as the pie gets larger, they just want the pie...and they don't want to share any pieces of it.  To them, life is a competition. They feel they deserve a larger piece, even at someone else’s expense, and they’re going to take it.Greedy people care about their needs today and kick problems down the road for others to cope with in the future. They put band-aids on problems rather than solving the root cause. Why? Well it's far easier for them of course and far less work.

So when will they learn? Probably never...They’re like sharks that spend their entire life hunting and consuming. All the oceans in the world can’t satisfy these eating machines. A lot of this they learn from their upbringing. So, as I have stated in many articles before....take time with your family. Teach your kids to love other and to respect them as they would want to be respected. If you don't, chances are that  your child will become just like you if you are greedy and selfish. "Cat's in the Cradle" song was mentioned in an article not all that long ago and it is certainly the truth. I don't know about you all but I took the time the time to show my children kindness, love, an dhow to share what you have with someone who has very little.  Hate was never a word that was allowed in our household. I raised my children to love others and to be nice to everyone. Do for others as you would want someone to do to you.... for someday you may run into a situation where you need help and if you are selfish and greedy having made your life 'all about you' it will be quite difficult finding someone to bail you out.

Remember to be  kind and loving. Give to others who need it, not because you have to, but because you want to. After my divorce people came to my rescue and helped me out tremendously and without family and friends I would have had a really difficult time starting a life over when I was used to and expected so much, but because of of these wonderful people my life is better today and I owe all of what I am and who I am to a large number of them that had a positive effect not only my life but that of my children. I am not trying to 'harp on people about being greedy and selfish, I'm just simply stating to 'think before you DO' because it will come back to bite you in the ass one day!

Be True to YOU!

There are oodles of different approaches that people can take towards the idea of changing or improving how they function socially. Want my opinion (unprofessional that is)? Do it for you, not for someone else. The biggest one is the idea of being true to your natural preferences and tendencies and not trying to change them for other people. Find yourself and define yourself on your terms. Oscar Wilde once said with his usual wit: Be yourself; everyone else is already taken. As humorous as this might seem, it's a basic summation of the truth. Yet, you can't be yourself if you don't know, understand, and accept yourself first. It should be your primary goal to find this out. Find the time to dwell upon what you value and take time to consider what makes up the essence of who you are. As part of this, contemplate your life and choices. Try to think about what kinds of things you would or wouldn't like to do, and act accordingly; finding out through trial and error helps more than you might think it does.

Almost everyone can find a niche they fit into

It's not true that if someone is different from the norm, their only option is to conform or be lonely and left out in the cold. Whatever you're like, and whatever you're into, you can probably find a group of like-minded people to fall in with if you look hard enough (even if there aren't people physically in your area, there's always the Internet and Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and so many others to follow and make friends through). People naturally sort themselves into groups based on similarities. Obviously, you're going to be happier, more accepted, and feel less constrained around people you have a lot in common with, and that's great, but never think that you have to change your life style and patterns to appease someone else, that's just hogwash.

You can often get by just fine by being yourself...

There are tons of people out there who differ from their friends or partners in some way, but they're still perfectly accepted and they very well should be. Maybe their friends all like football but they're up front about not particularly caring about it. However, since they're solid people in lots of other ways, they're still welcomed into the group. As a general rule, the more you have to offer socially in other areas, the more you can get away with differing from the majority on some issues and still be accepted. I like what I like...I think that just by simply being yourself you will fit in just fine, and if you don't I would really rethink that group of friends you want to associate with. The common thing a lot of people do is copy others' actions because it seems like the better route to fit in, but really, shouldn't you stand out? Standing out is very hard, yes, but you need to try avoid assuming other people's perspectives of you, even if it's not something you would normally do; that's what being yourself is all about!

So you are a little bit different than the average Joe...

Isn't that what makes you stand out? My grandmother used to always tell me "Michele, stop trying to fit in when you were born to stand out!" I took that advice and I ran with it. I didn't care what people thought of me and I still don't to a certain degree. Sure in a professional setting, but even so, I'm just me, and either you like me or you don't. Really, what's not to love? Yes, sarcasm is my super power.  I'm not seeking any one's approval. I'm not perfect, I'm misconstrued often, but that's my personality. Occasionally you'll meet people who are walking embodiments of the totally average, mainstream person. It must be convenient to go through life having your every urge and whim just happen to fall into line with what society prefers. However most people have a bunch of traits that are out of sync with whatever the social ideal is. They stay true to themselves anyways.I do what I do for "me" first and foremost. If someone is going to like me it is going to be for all of me...that means the good and the bad!

It's often your individual differences that make you so unique!

When you're with people, to a large extent it's your differences that set you apart from everyone else and make you desirable to be around. Your sense of humor is a little bit different (and funnier) than your other friends'. You know more about a certain topic than everyone else. You have a different perspective on life. Yeah, people often do like to hang out with friends who are a lot like them, but it is often the case that we appreciate someone who brings something novel to the table. What does this mean? Develop and totally express your individuality whether it's your sense of style, or even your manner of speaking, if your preferred way of doing something strays from the mainstream and produces positive outcomes, then be proud of it. Be a character, not a type. Learn to communicate well - the better you can express yourself, the easier it is for the people who like you as you are to find you and the ones who don't to just steer clear

Spice it up... life becomes more interesting!

I know this sounds cheesy, but life would be more boring if we were all exactly the same. Getting to be around a range of different people makes socializing more unpredictable and rewarding. In small doses even people's personality flaws spice things up a bit. If someone is totally flaky or bossy, that's just irritating as hell, and no one wants a control freak either, but if they have mild versions of those same traits, it just adds a little color. Jazz it up a little and have some fun with it...let your hair down and get a little crazy! You might enjoy it!

Some of the best things in life have come from people doing their own thing!

There are hundreds of examples so much so that it would take me all day just to name them but here are a few; in art, in science, in academic thought, in fashion. Someone went against the grain of the time and came up with something new and better. The only way they we are able to do that is because they held an outsider, non-majority perspective. They may have drawn some disapproval, but they didn't care because their vision was more important than getting along with every last person socially.Listen, there is something to be said about marching to the beat of your own drum...1) I find if more becoming, and 2) being different and wanting to do something else is fabulous! Never be afraid to take chances...life is far too short not to.

Treat yourself as you'd treat your own best friend!

You value your friends and those close to you; well, who is closer to you than you are? Give yourself the same kind, thoughtful, and respectful treatment that you give to other people you care about. If you had to hang out with yourself for a day, what is the most fun/enjoyable/fulfilled/calm/contented type of person you could be, while still being yourself? What is the best version of you? Believe in this idea and use that as your starting point. Love and accept yourself as you are now, just as you do for your close ones.

Gratitude...Let It Be Your Miracle

How often do you take things or life in general for granted? Most of us do often. With life, I have learned over the past few years is far too short to not take the time to really appreciate life in general. We get sick, and we certainly have bad experiences that we've encountered in our lives. I think that if you learn from them, you grow. I have been through more than most people in a lifetime, or than I had ever anticipated I would go through in 'my lifetime' yet I still feel so blessed to be alive and with my sense of humor.

I feel that with each ordeal I live through, I learn from it. Everyday I ask for miracles. Sometimes I think that I have used up pretty much all of my 9 lives, but looking back now it has been about 6. I have 3 to go! Life is good for me and I am a happy camper! So what is a miracle? A miracle is traditionally defined as an extraordinary event by divine intervention, but we also use the word to describe an occurrence that was previously thought to be impossible. Much of what happens to us comes from not having faith in our own inner abilities. We need to be strong and not weak.

Gratitude can be one of these miracles in your life if you let it.
How? By giving you the power to turn any difficulty, any challenge, or any heartache into a blessing.
The thing about miracles is that you have to be willing to see and acknowledge them. If you wanted to keep a pessimistic or cynical outlook, you could easily ignore what appears to be a miracle. I see this all the time!Any miracle can be explained away if a person has a vested interest in remaining cynical. The question to ask yourself is: do you have such an interest? Or are you willing to allow a gratitude focus to perform miracles in your life? Everyday is a miracle if you can wake up and take a breath. Be very thankful, some people are not as fortunate. One must learn how to use gratitude to invite miracles into your life.

1. Never ever say "NEVER".
How many times have you been absolutely certain that something couldn't happen, only to find out later that you were wrong? Oh it happens a lot! When someone tells me that I can't do something, like when I wanted to build my businesses for instance, they said I'd never do it..I proved them wrong. Sure it's a battle of hard work and drive, but their negative energies were the fuel and food that I needed to push myself even further. No is not a word that is located in my vocabulary. Begin to open your mind to the possibilities and believe that what you think is impossible may not be so at all. Just because you can't see any possible way for something to happen doesn't mean a way doesn't exist! Express gratitude for the possibilities you are aware of, and also those you haven't even considered yet. Open your heart and mind to gratitude for the miracles that might be coming your way.

2. Even if something does appear to be totally hopeless by all the laws of physics and tangible reality as we know it, allow gratitude to turn it into a miracle through the grace of acceptance.
Embrace what you cannot change. Let it become something that blesses you rather than hinders you. Even better, let it become something that blesses others. Use your impossibility to change lives and by extension, the world. A way exists if you are open to it. Lean on family and friends. My friends have been my lifeline for the past several years and regardless of what I have done to make a mess out of things, these wonderful people (and you all know who you are) have been there to pick me up when I am down, to catch me what I've fallen, and to hug me when I was sad. Through ups and downs, I have been blessed with some really awesome people in my life, family and friends! My grandmother always told me that "God puts certain people in our lives for a reason" and to those of you, all of you in my life, I say thank you for being a friend. Like the Golden Girls theme song with me you have all traveled down that road and back again, your hearts are true, you are pals and my confidants!

3. Apply gratitude to every hardship, challenge, obstacle and pain in your life.
Be thankful for the ways they help you grow in wisdom and inner strength. Love your illnesses, your heartaches, your struggles and your enemies. I believe in karma and what goes around does come back around! Through love and gratitude, all things are possible. Perhaps the healing will not come in the form you expect or in the exact timeline you hope for - but healing will come and when it does you will appreciate life even more so than you do now. Life is good. Appreciate the little things, for they are truly what means the most. Simply open your heart to it and embrace it, and you will have created your very own miracle. Don't let anyone or anything hold you back! Believe in yourself and you can do anything!

How Much Time Do You Have to Seduce a Woman?

This isn't like "How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood..." No...this is quite different. I write almost on a weekly basis that if you have something you want to share, or if you think that I am being too 'one sided' to feel free to step in at anytime and give me your two cents because surely I don't hesitate to give you mine. Since some of you tend to think that I only write things from a girls perspective, and I guess since I am a girl that might only make sense...nevertheless, here you go boys, this one is for you. I asked some men to be responsive and to be honest when I questioned; "How does a man seduce a woman?" I'm looking for tips here on just how they know when to make all the right moves? Read on because this is what I learned. I'll give my perspective on these views and what women do and how they react and I'll share how men pursue the woman and what he does to capture her attention.

Listen, No matter how ‘modern’ we have become in today's day and age, it is still much better for men to approach women instead of the other way round. Call me old fashion but I would never think to approach a man while out and about that I wanted to pursue for myself..I would talk to him if one of my girlfriends showed interest in him, then it's OK...no not double standard, I'd be playing the 'match maker!' For me to pursue a man would be unheard of honestly. I was not even allowed to call boys growing up and if my Mom caught me doing it, oh there was hell to pay! Besides, we ladies appreciate it all the more when a man that we think is a cutie takes charge and makes a first move, which is always our first impression.

Dating techniques and society may have changed but it is what it is and we still like to be chased sometimes. If you want to learn the art of seduction then you should be able to hold romantic conversations, have a good command of language, look quite confident and know the right way to flirt.

When you talk with a woman, you will get some idea about her personality and it is through this idea that you can find out the speed at which you should move forward with her. Not all women are alike or the same so don't think for a minute that we are. Always focus your attention on the woman that you are with...it doesn't matter what the other women in the room thinks or what your old ex-girlfriend would have thought...it's now about you and this new woman.

Look at her body language. Is it open, or has she closed herself off from you with folded arms or crossed legs? Is her body turned toward you or away? Is she copying your posture or doing something different? You will know from her body language whether the lady in question is interested in you.

When you first meet a woman that you are attracted to, think before you speak...these were the answers as to "how" men begin to get acquainted;

3 Situations May Arise;

1) You only have few minutes to attract and seduce her.
Let us assume that you have met this really attractive woman in a corner coffee shop and you want to get her attention...No, don't spill coffee on her. In such a situation, you should say or act in a certain way that will draw her toward you. Maybe, excuse me is that a hazelnut espresso you have? Tell her it smells delicious and then open up the conversation. You don't have a lot of time so make it good! If you are unable to do that then chances are she will be gone from your life forever. The most important thing to do in this situation is to develop a bond with her and make yourself trustworthy so that she can trust you. This is NOT going to happen solely at the coffee shop, but this is your first impression chance to do it right! Women will never go for men whom they don’t trust so it is necessary to make yourself trustworthy. Do this quickly by creating a connection between you – see the section on similarity in a previous article. Since you don’t have much time here, you need to undertake rapid actions such as asking her out for a date at that moment or asking her for her email address or phone number. No stalking! Now, it make be a very short and brief encounter on the elevator...if this is the case boys, think fast on your toes, you're going to need to be slick and quick!

2) You have a few hours to attract and seduce her, so ease up my man!
This might be at a dinner party or a one-day event, or when you meet a woman on a plane. Now, take it from me (a woman) this is the best time to get to know someone because she is sitting next to you and guess what? there is no where else for her to go other than to the ladies room if you drive her too nuts! This situation is better than situation one because here you at least have a few hours which you can use to draw her toward you, so make it good! Still, you need to win her over rapidly. Make real good use of your time. Talk to her and attract her toward you by using your body language and conversation skill.

3) You have a few days or weeks to attract and seduce her...You've got plenty of time!
If you are in this situation then you can take your time to woo her and then seduce her. Women you work with or neighbors will fall into this category but a lot of guys prefer not to seduce those women because of the complications that can mess up that area of your life afterward. So a better example of this situation is a woman who works in a local store, or someone you meet on vacation or at a 3-day conference. You will meet her on several different occasions and you can move through the different stages over a longer period of time taking the time to get to know her better and later seduce her. Personally, I like this approach. My grandmother used to say "anything worth having is worth waiting for." Rome wasn't built over night and neither will a relationship be. Good things come to those who wait. Soooo Mr. Charming,  your horse can trot down my lane any day now!
