Dating, Relationships and Cheaters

Cheating...None of like to assume it happens, nor do we anticipate it ever happening to us, but it can and sometimes it does. At some point or another, we all have that one bothersome thought or two that crosses out minds...is my partner cheating? My guess is that you're likely to experience trust issues in your relationship. Why? We are all a little insecure at times. The thing is, whether or not we are secure with who we are has absolutely nothing to do with how honest mate is acting. It does make it a bit difficult when statistics say that 85% of women who feel their lover is cheating are correct and 50% of men who feel their lover is cheating are right. If you have suspicious, warnings or signals of infidelity by your spouse or partner, listen to your gut.

Whether it's brought about by infidelity, a decrease in your own self esteem, your partner's newly hired young assistant, someone constantly flirting with them, or a simple change in your partner's behavior, your relationship can weather this storm and rise above feelings of uncertainty. You have to first of all believe that you can get through everything!

Follow these tips as we walk you through the trust issues you may face
This will assist you in experiencing the thriving relationship that you truly deserve:

1. Work on your self-esteem. Many trust issues in relationships that were once thriving stem from personal insecurities. If you've experienced significant changes in your appearance or noticed a drop in your self-esteem, it's important to build up your body image and self worth in order to rebuild the trust in your relationship. You must feel confident in who you are or you sure as heck won't be able to have faith in someone else.
  • It's common to become suspicious of the company that your significant other is keeping when your self-esteem plummets.  Many times, we are not given the opportunity to understand much less process what to do or how to react if and when we learn of infidelity in your relationship.Sometimes, you have to have some faith and give your partner the benefit of the doubt. The way you perceive yourself may be the only thing in your relationship that has changed.
2. Reflect on your past. Did something happen in your childhood that has caused you to become wary of trusting your heart to anyone? Did your parents choose to divorce when you were young? Were you sexually abused in the past? Or did you experience cheating in a past relationship/marriage?
  • These things and more can be responsible for your inability to trust others. When you've endured emotional trauma, especially during your youth, its effects can last decades. Speak to a therapist to help you find the root of the issue and learn how to work past the event.
3. Talk about your problems and issues with trust... and WHY you have these issues;
If there has been infidelity within your relationship, it's vital to hash out all hurt feelings and future expectations.
  • If you've cheated in the past or in an other relationship that you were in with someone else, it's normal for your partner to want to know where you are, what you're doing, and what time you'll be home. They'll ask if you'll be alone with anyone. Answer their questions truthfully and understand that they are hurting. Try to put yourself in their shoes? You might see things a bit differently.
Once a Cheater, Always a Cheater?

That's what most people think, and if you've ever been cheated on, I can guess that is why you would feel as such. When most people get caught cheating, they make promises and vows to never cheat again. Sound familiar? Unfortunately, such promises often get broken. The desire to cheat is complicated and it is not solved by feeling sorry or by making promises to change. If you want to change any behavior, you must first determine why that behavior occurred. So, when it comes to infidelity and cheating, what factors led the person to cheat? Was it too much opportunity, was it due to problems in their relationships, was it due to a need for excitement? Did your appearance change? Did you gain weight? Are you a workaholic, or an alcoholic? What caused this? This is the million dollar question.

Dating and Relationships are good. Not everyone cheats, or lies. Talk to your partner if there is tension, or distrust. If you feel like something is going on, speak up. Trust is about more than believing that your partner will remain faithful. It's about trusting that your partner will always be there for you in times of need, while also being a prominent part of the most important events in your life. Work on your trust as romantic partners - and as best friends - to truly guarantee a long healthy future and a happy ever after. You can get past this.

How to Tell If She Is Interested in You?

The million dollar question? Is she interested? What are her eyes telling you? The eyes are the gateway to your soul. These are easy non-verbal motives. The act of locking eyes with someone is an incredibly intimate act, which is why we avoid prolonged eye contact with people we aren’t close with, well, that and the fact that it can be quite awkward. However, we instinctively recognize the power of eye contact, which is why it is a strong indicator of interest from a woman. A woman who’s interested in a man will often initiate eye contact, deliberately break contact – often by looking down, a submissive gesture – then looking back. The act of breaking contact and looking away is a way of catching his attention; looking back is to check to see whether he’s taken the bait, as it were. When she re-initiates eye contact, it is frequently followed by a slow smile; a subtle way of saying “yes, that was a message for you."

 It’s a simple and non-verbal way for women to indicate that she would be interested in you so by all means, go say hello to her. Women as a whole are socialized to be more touchy-feely than men are and tend to speak more with their hands.With regard to our communication, 55% is non-verbal, 38% is based on speaking signals and only 7% has anything to do with what you actually say. So, you want to get the girl? It is a great possibility that you will indeed, BUT be careful of falling into these topics...or you may just end up shooting yourself in the foot;

1. Do not consider yourself as unattractive.
Take a good look in the mirror. Do you like what you see? You certainly should, because if you don't why would someone else? You need to kick it up a notch and show that you like yourself. If you feel that you are not attractive then there is no way in which you can make the woman find you attractive. You want her to think you are a hottie and sexy right? Then you have to play the part and believe it yourself. This type of thinking will influence your body language and the way you think. Take some care over your appearance so that you feel at your best, and start telling yourself that you are attractive.

2. Do not bore her.
Women will tun you out faster than you know. Sometimes you only get one chance to make a great first impression, so don't muck it up! You want to sound fascinating and intriguing. There are times when men tend to bore women without even realizing that they are doing that. Never talk about your work, sports or weather when you are with a lady, unless you know that she is truly interested in the subject. She may listen just to be polite, but htat doesn't mean that she cares. You want her to care so that she will want to see you again, and again, and again.
If she is genuinely interested in a subject she will not just ask questions and listen, she will have a lot to say about it.

3. Know when to shut your yap!
If you talk constantly, you can make the lady turn her back on you. She will either think that you are babbling because of nervousness, or if not, she will find you boring. Try to get her talking too. Even with the shyest woman you can do this if you help her to feel relaxed and find out what she is really interested in. Don't give her the drama. Keep it simple...no work stuff, family issues, etc. You are trying to get to know her...you don't want to creep her out and chase her off. Just be you and keep it light and simple.

4. Never ask too many questions.
I know it is weird when you are with a woman and have nothing to talk about. However, this does not mean that you have to keep asking her questions after questions. Asking a few questions can make a conversation interesting but asking too many questions will make the lady want to run away from you. Instead of interrogating her, pick up on hints in what she says, that show you when she has some real feeling about something.
A good way to do this is to repeat something she has said back to her in a questioning tone of voice. This will encourage her to say more but it comes across as interest rather than another question. What am I trying to say here? It's real simple; Try to Avoid Yes/No Questions! Avoid questions that can have Yes or No. Why? This can kill the conversation and nothing is worse than that pause of silence when you have nothing else to say and it gets to where there is no speaking for a brief few seconds, which can seem like minutes or hours. You want to get to know more so try to elaborate a bit when you speak with answers to questions that are more detailed.

6. No treating a woman like your possessions or  prize.
That's right fellas, you heard me...we aren't some piece of meat, and we certainly are not your prize...so show us some respect how 'bout it? A woman does not like the idea of being a prize or someones  possession for that matter. She will not be attracted to you if she thinks you are showing off that you are with her, or if she suspects that you will boast about your conquest of her to your friends. She is not your arm candy and she certainly does not wish to be used as a tool for your own personal leverages.

7. Can you read her body language?
If not, you need to learn how to. This is going to be KEY. Many men do not think that it is necessary to read the body language of the women that they are interested in. Oh boys...you couldn't be more wrong. By reading her body language you will have some idea about whether she is interested in you, if she is happy, sad, pissed off or not interested in you at all. You can flirt a bit by using your own kind of body language techniques; How will a woman know that you are interested in her if you do not give her a sign? When you flirt with her, you indirectly let her know about your intention. It is generally quite harmless unless you let it get far too personal which you don't want to do when you are just trying to get to know her because what you want to do is give her space.

8. Just how confident are you?
Did you know that most women simply cannot resist men who are confident? We love men who have their shit together...(that's what we're really trying to say here) Do not be afraid to approach a woman because of fear of rejection. There are always risks in life and if you do not take the risk then you cannot reap the benefits.Chances are if you walk into a room wanting to meet a specific woman in general and you make it well known that you are enticed by her and her alone...you will get the chance to do all the smooth talking you want to do...just be open, honest and respectful for heaven sakes.

Men, Body Language and First Impressions

Men try to make a great first impression but most often, they fall short and it turns out all wrong. Is it what they say or what they do that turns the perfect moment into a complete nightmare? Truth be told, an awful lot of men focus on exactly what they’ll say to a woman when they approach. They wonder why they can use a line and get blown off, while another man can show up three minutes later, use the same line, and get her to go out with him. Some say that men are harder to decipher than ancient hieroglyphics. Not really...it's all in the body language, so pay attention!

Watch his eyes girls! You will be able to tell what he's feeling just by looking into them.Watch a man's eyes for an indication of his interest. Men's eyes tend to roam around when they are looking for an available female. When they catch what they believe is a positive response, their eyes widen and they may wink or smile and hold a stare. Men's pupils tend to dilate when they see someone or something that interests them. If he makes direct eye contact and holds your gaze, he is trying to show that he's interested. If he avoids eye contact completely, he is either trying to avoid you or he is feeling intimidated by you. A quick wink or frequent blinking both indicate interest and a desire to get to know the other person better.

The truth is that when you approach a woman, she’s evaluating you before you even say a word. Notice his stance as you look to decipher male body language. It isn’t so much what you say, but in the split second that she first sees you and forms her first impression of you, she has already subconsciously decided whether or not to give you a chance. It shows in your style, and your confidence.

She is watching you from a distance and waiting to see what type approach you will have, so make sure that you have your act together. Now is the time to be confident and as Madonna would say; "Strike a Pose." She wants to see positive assertion, not a shy guy afraid to step up to the plate and kick it up a notch. Now is the time to take a risk and get her attention. Sometimes you only have one chance, so make it count!Watch for negative male body language signals such as lack of eye contact, poor posture, hiding of the hands, mumbling, stuttering, mispronunciation, extraneous body movements and darting eyes. These gestures indicate that he is either insecure, uninterested, bored, keeping something from you, lying to you or he's nervous. Negative male body language is basically a sign that he is anxious to get away for some reason. If you feel that he is nervous, try to make him feel more at ease by shifting attention away from yourself.

Sure it takes a lot of work to undo a first impression if it is all wrong. The good news is that her first impression of you depends on how you behave. If you behave in a way that’s reassuring, calm, and confident, she’s going to be much more open to the idea of dating you. On the contrary to all that macho crap your guy friends talk to you about, we ladies like the soft sweet man with a sensative side.

If you behave as if you aren’t sure you should be talking to her, she might not think you should be, either. Hey, you have the same chance as the next guy so make this time matter so if you find the woman that you really wish to impress, make the moment matter. There are also some behaviors that will cause women to immediately lose interest in you, and others that will catch her attention. It's all about your body language and let me tell you...we can read you a mile away. Yup, that's right. You don't have to do a darn thing, we watch and observe. Nothing speaks louder than ones body language.
Body language can communicate that you are nervous or desperate, or it can communicate that you are confident and secure. Your posture may be accidentally telling women that you aren’t interested in a girlfriend now. Or, worse, you may be coming across as creepy, arrogant, or antisocial. You might think that’s a little silly, but remember that women’s brains work differently than yours. Women are highly attuned to both verbal and nonverbal language. Listen fellas...to a woman, it really matters if you stand up straight – it says something important about you. It also really matters if you approach her head on, from the side, or from behind. When she meets you, she creates an idea of you.

What you seem like to her determines the way she’s going to act toward you. Body language goes both ways. You can learn to read her behavior to see if she’s noticed you yet, if she’s interested, and if she’s likely to be friendly when you introduce yourself. On a date, you’ll be able to tell if she’s comfortable with you. Reading her cues will make you seem smarter and more in tune with her needs. She’ll feel that you’re really listening to her and that she’s important to you. That will make you more important to her, and you’re well on your way to a great relationship.

Independent Relationships...Do They Work?

Living in a close relationship with your special someone is invigorating, exciting and can be oh so fun! Maybe you've heard this described as when the Spice Girls sang "when two become one." OK, perhaps that was a tad bit cheesy...But this isn't the whole picture, so let's look at that now, shall we? In reality, a healthy relationship is made up of two mentally strong people. They each lead independent lives and have the desire and ability share their lives as well. I think that this is quite common these days to remain somewhat independent don't you? Don't you think that it makes it stronger perhaps? Even if you don't see eye to eye, you can have a wonderful caring relationship!

These are a few of the reasons why this balance of separateness and togetherness is important:

1. Independence makes the relationship more intellectually stimulating. If each party brings his or her individual interests to the table, they'll have some fascinating and different subjects to talk about with one another.
  • Perhaps he's interested in kayaking and she's intrigued with studying history. They can each engage their own pursuits fully, but also enjoy the other person's passion.
2. You can depend on your partner for support when you need it. If each partner is independent, each one is comfortable depending on the other when the going gets tough or when life gets hectic. A relationship is, in essence, a partnership. Knowing you can count on the other person is wonderfully supportive.
  • Having confidence that your partner can "be okay" without you while you're at work or otherwise engaged relieves you of having to worry about how your partner will manage in challenging situations.
  • Relationships do have an ebb and flow that requires that one partner lean on the other occasionally, and this is OK, I say Lean!!!!
3. Two independent people in a relationship can mean a more balanced relationship. When you're both independent, the relationship is healthier. Nobody is exclusively relegated to a specific role.
  • When balance isn't present, one partner might take the role of "the strong one" in the relationship while the other partner is consequently "the weak one." Equilibrium in the relationship means no one partner is more or less powerful than the other.
4. Your relationship becomes stronger. When two independent people make a decision to have a relationship, their time with each other is more special and sacred. Even though a sense of independence is important for each partner, being willing to share with the other what you love to do is a great way to spend quality time together.
  • Bringing independence to your relationship promises a deeper, more lasting partnership, since it's built on acceptance of each other as a whole human being.
5. A sense of independence makes you more emotionally secure. This works for and benefits both partners.
  • If a partner is emotionally secure, they're not afraid to show their strength and their softer side at the same time. Showing your soft side is a good thing, so damn it, let that guard down will ya?
  • Each person's sense of independence can help facilitate more openness and honesty in the partnership. No matter what you say or do, you know that your mate will ultimately be okay, since their independence already shows that they're able to take care of themselves.
  • When you come together at the end of the day, maybe one is tired or bored. The other can step in and revive the other or bring some ideas to the table.
  • Neither partner will feel threatened by their mate's autonomy and sense of personal strength and emotional security.
Partners in a relationship will enjoy a much deeper, longer lasting connection when they each have a sense of independence. Bringing up different interests for discussion, feeling like you can depend on the other and having a balanced relationship all stem from both parties having their own sense of autonomy.
For these reasons and more, independence is integral to healthy relationships. Enjoy your partner, and share your thoughts and feelings. This brings a sense of balance to your relation, so build on that...and you will accomplish what many others have not, and cannot. Trust me, when you do the sky is the limit and there may even  be a little wedding bliss in your future!

10 Ways to Tell You Are a Lousy Lover...

Ladies, most of us at one time or another have all questioned  how good we are in bed, well, maybe not all of us, so women think they are the bomb-diggity...but are they really or is their ego as big as some of the men they date and they just think that they are sexual dynamos under the sheets? Do you ask yourself if you are a good lover? Sure, you say you are, but if you were to ask a few of your ex's, what would they say? What if their they may have a different opinion? Many women think that they were really incredible only to find out later that what the man thought was that they were a real dud...that's right, not fizzle to sizzle!

If you'd like to be just as good (bad) as these women, here are your tips for you to follow: DO NOT do these things...,did you hear me DO NOT! (otherwise you'll earn the lousy lover award)

1) Taking ex-lover's opinions
Any guy that wants to play sheet-hockey with you is going to tell you how great you are. I'm sorry, but the guy lies to you not to hurt you, but to prevent you from being an even worse - or scarce - lover. Men have enough to worry about with just getting good sex to add to it.

Here's a bottom line you should adopt: don't use the salesman's opinion to judge the quality of the product. Of course men are going to tell you that you're awesome! Sweetheart, they just got laid...they are just glad to have sex!

2) Now...assuming you're good in bed
Every woman I know thinks she's a great kisser and at least decent in bed. In fact in my experience, less than 10% are either. You don't have to take my word for this however, according to my own research; most other men put the number at around the same place!

Assuming that you're already skilled can actually prevent you from gaining the skills you really should have. Being "confident, but curious" will take you to that glorious 10% very quickly. Moral of the story...never assume anything!

3) Not knowing your own sexuality
Many, many women don't focus on their own sexuality and assume that a man will come along to teach them everything they should know. Don't believe it. It is YOUR job to learn about your own sexuality so that you bring this to the table in a relationship. After all, if you don't understand your own sexuality - what works for you, what doesn't and what else you want to explore - how are you ever going to communicate this to your lover? Some men may stay in a relationship with a lousy lover, but they are forever constantly think about how it'd be with someone else. If you think that takes the pressure off of you fine, but don't be surprised when your lover decides he want to taste a little of that other fruit.

Now is the time to take a little time for yourself and evaluate.  The key to really understanding your own needs - and getting comfortable with them! This can be a powerful source growth if you use it that way.

4) A lack of experience
If you're saving yourself for marriage or for some knight in shining armor, just consider what you're going to have to give when it or he finally arrives. I can't tell you how many women just assume that everything will be incredible - and how many relationships break up because it's not.

Not many men these days want virgins (but some do). For those of us with some experience, we realize that this is just too much work! Men don't want to have to spend the next 5 years helping a woman just get in touch with her own sexual side - she should bring this to the relationship in the first place!

You've no doubt heard that sex "isn't the most important part of a relationship" and while that may be true, it's in the top 3! Why would you spend so much of your time working on becoming the woman of your man's dreams, only to fail where it's most important to him?I'm not saying that you should go out and screw every guy you meet, but you should see every sexual relationship you are in as a chance to grow your own skills for that guy that finally does sweep you off your feet. Doesn't he deserve this from you? (Answer: yes, he does!)

5) Reading books and articles written by women about what men want in bed
If I want to learn about car maintenance, I don't usually go to a guy that sells books and ask. I'll go right to the mechanic. Women spend countless hours reading articles and books written by other women about how to satisfy men sexually. The trouble with this is that many of these women are just as inexperienced! Many men look at these articles too and most of them honestly  just roll their eyes.

6) Not communicating
If man asks you what you like in bed, NEVER give the answer, "Oh, I like just about everything!" It's a cop-out and we all know it.  Being with someone sexually is an opportunity to get your needs met - and to explore new ones. You can only do this by communicating honestly, openly and without embarrassment.

7) Not asking
Wouldn't you love to hear your partner ask you, "Honey, is there anything you really want that you haven't told me?" Very few of the men are the insecure jackasses that women make them out to be. If you know you want something, most men will almost always find a way to give it to you.

8) Complaining
When you ask for something and get it - even if it's not exactly right - don't complain. There are far better ways to improve things! That especially means right in the middle of sex. NEVER, EVER EVER do that.
Recommendations are taken far better than simply complaining about something. If you tell men what you want, they may still not exactly understand it from your perspective, but they'll try most of the time. Women are much more complicated than men in this department. As If men know that we want something, they will  almost always try to give it to you. If it's not exactly what or how you like it, then you need to help them to understand it. trust me on this one, you'll be the benefactor!
On the other hand, if you simply complain, get used to the idea that you're not going to get what you want - and it'll be your own fault.

9) Lack of enthusiasm
If you think holding back is the way to get us to be more interested in you, let me set you straight on this: it won't work. We'll simply find someone that won't hold back and leave you wondering what happened.
Your sexual enthusiasm also communicates your interest in us. That doesn't mean you have to bounce off the walls, but at least be interested in sex and want to grow with us. We'll return the favor in ways you can't imagine.

10) Being self-conscious
I know, I know, you're worried about the lighting, mood and every other little issue:
"Does my hair look good?"
"Am I making enough noise?"
"Am I making too much noise?"
"Does this pillow make my ass look big?"

Listen, if you make it a habit of doing any of these in #10....you've got some shaping up to do. No man wants to hear women whine and pout. Suck it up sister and get your confidence game going.

Communication is KEY in Relationships!

If I said it once, I've said it a thousand times,...Communication is KEY! Effective communication and sharing is quite crucial in relationships. Discuss these pivotal subjects to better acquaint, inform and increase understanding between you and your partner. These are things that can't be ignored, these issues need addressed as they can weight on a new relationship if not resolved.

1. Your financial history. How you manage your money is important to share with your partner.
  • Talk about your credit history, including whether you've ever been unable to pay your bills, if you make it a point to pay bills on time, and the extent of your debt.
  • Also, you'll want to know if your partner is a "saver" or a "spender."
  • Even if some of your money management history isn't optimal, this is a topic to be fully open about when you're about to solidify your relationship.
2. Thoughts about religion. How important is your faith? What religious traditions do you follow? Do you and your partner need to make some changes to incorporate your spiritual aspects into your relationship?

3. Ideas about having children and parenting. You might feel like your relationship is a long way from reaching a point where you need to discuss having kids. But if you're thinking of marriage, this is a necessary talk to have first.
  • Some questions to answer include: whether you want to have kids in the future, the kind of discipline you want to practice, and how many kids you want.
  • Also, finding out your mate's desires in these areas will also serve to make your life path together smoother.
  • Parenting ideas and beliefs are often emotionally loaded topics and should surely be explored together prior to marriage, especially if one or both of you already have children.
  • If this is a point of contention between you, then come to an agreeable solution or move your separate ways. Don't expect to change someone's mind or sweep this issue under the carpet!
4. Your career goals. Have you considered how your career goals will be impacted by your relationship? Your work life and career aspirations are especially important because they stand to be drastically affected by your decision to marry or reside with your partner.
  • Inform your partner how much you aspire to career-wise. This is something they deserve to be aware of as your career pursuits can alter both of your lives.
5. Favorite ways to spend "down time." How you prefer to spend your spare time is integral to your relationship. After all, if you love to read and your partner is an avid sports fan and prefers to socialize with others, some disagreements could result.
  • Being aware of these preferences will go a long way toward a less bumpy road ahead for the two of you. Can you imagine not knowing your cherished partner loves to play drums in his spare time and finding that out after you marry?
6. Other life aspirations. When talking with your partner, consider all of your life goals.
  • Traveling to France, attending a sign language class, doing volunteer work, or even taking in foster children might be on the list.
  • When you consider these examples, it's easy to recognize why you and your partner can benefit by discussing goals in advance of marriage.
7. Discuss any other subjects you or your partner wants to know about. The purpose of this is to clear up anything else that's nagging at you regarding your own life or your partner's. This will help to address any doubts or questions either of you might have.
  • Doings this allows the both of you to start your precious time together with a clean slate.
Remember to try speaking openly and honestly about these topics before marriage will improve your communication and your mutual understanding. What Should You Look for in a Lifetime Partner?

Everyone wants the happy ever after. Everyone wants to live a good life. How important is finding the 'right' partner? Do you feel that finding the right partner a key ingredient in your recipe for a happy life? While the search can seem elusive, it gets much easier if you learn to focus on the qualities that are fundamental to forging healthy and positive relationships: character, background, personality, and chemistry. Before you say I do...make certain that you validate the intentions of all parties involved. Now, I know what your thinking...that sounds so legal and serious...hey, a life time partnership is serious and is something that shouldn't be entered into lightly.

Character
1. Assess their availability. For a loving relationship, both parties must be available for love. If one of you is already involved with another person, you're already off to a difficult start! Circumstances may change with time or you may need to look elsewhere.
2. Establish trust. Trust is basic to any stable relationship. You deserve a relationship that enhances your peace of mind, rather than creating new anxieties.
3. Look at how they manage conflicts. It's okay to disagree as long as you respect each other's positions. Arguments can even bring you closer together when you both aim for solutions that satisfy both parties rather than seeking victory.

Background
1. Resolve past issues. Regardless of what hardships a person has faced, focus on what they did to overcome adversity and challenges.
2. Discuss previous relationships. People have different comfort levels when it comes to talking about past lovers. Still, it's important to be aware of any patterns and know how to manage them.
3. Learn from each other's family history. Our family experiences often have a profound influence in shaping our lives and our reactions to new events. For example, knowing how your potential partner felt about their parent's divorce might help you understand them better.
4. Find common ground on money matters. Mingling finances is a big step. Get a sense of how compatible you are when it comes to making decisions about spending and saving.
  • Many successful couples have different perspectives on economics, but they make it work by balancing each other's strengths and weaknesses.
5. Know each other's expectations about parenting. Parenting is one issue where it's very difficult to make compromises. Before making a commitment, clarify whether you're on the same page with wanting a big family or a family of two. If you want kids and they don't you might want to rethink this one because if you think you can change them into wanting a family...you are in for a long haul and a big let down.

Personality
1. Communicate. Constructive communication is the lifeline for any alliance. Communication skills can be improved with practice, but it's helpful to know each other's habits.
2. Have fun together. After all, you're looking for someone whose company you'll enjoy. If your girlfriend makes you laugh even during tax season, this is a good sign that you may have a future together.
3. Share common interests. Liking the same things will also help you feel more connected. Whether you love film festivals or camping, you can create meaningful experiences and happy memories that you both will treasure.

Chemistry
1. Hey,...let the sparks fly. Physical attraction is one of the greatest joys in life. Sure we find a person who is attractive to us a big deal. As long as all the other elements for a healthy relationship are in place, it's wonderful to find a mate who makes your heart race and your palms sweat.
2. Stay fit & healthy. If your partner leads a healthy lifestyle, you may be more likely to preserve that initial attraction. You might even be rewarded with having more years to spend together.
3. Take a balanced view of romance. It's great to keep romance alive so long as it's free from illusions. Passions will fluctuate over time, but your sense of commitment and affection can keep on growing through the years.

Finding that special someone is vital. We all appreciate feeling validated and having someone to share our happiness. Knowing what to look for pays off when you're looking for love.
