Butt Implants...Is Your Derriere Too Flat?

So you want a bigger tushy? Well...guess what? It can be yours with the help of buttock implants. Who knew that one day the average flat as a pancake behind could be reinvented? Today, there are procedures that can fix this. The procedure I speak of is also known as gluteal implants or buttock augmentation this surgical procedure involves the insertion of artificial implants in order to improve the size and shape of the buttocks. This surgery is most often sought after by women who feel that their derriere is too flat and not round or sensuous enough looking for their taste. For myself, the rear has never been an issue. I have it and so do my other women family members...but, a lot of women don't have it and they want their behinds to stand out. So why is it now that so many women might consider this type of procedure?

The rise in this type of surgery in recent years has to do with the popularity of actress/singers that have nice behinds such as Jennifer Lopez, and she does have a very shapely figure. Singer Beyonce Knowles is another celebrity whose behind many women wish to replicate in themselves. Buttocks implants can plump up an underdeveloped backside and give a woman a much more proportional looking figure, they enhance the physique and sexy behavior of women. This makes a woman feel more confident and sexy. When we don't like our appearance, we tend to try to hide if from others., especially from your partner. Feel good about YOU! It's all about confidence ladies...We sell fabulous lingerie for women of all sizes that will certainly help in accentating your derriere! Browse our website today! www.SimplyDeliciousLingerie.com.

Thinking of having such a procedure done? Look into a variety of cosmetic surgeons that do this, and look outside of the box. This means, search near your home and around your proximity's for the best not the cheapest...remember, often, you do get what you pay for, so choose wisely and do your homework. Seek references before you choose any physician.

At your initial consultation with the plastic surgeon a number of things will be discussed. First of all as the patient you must discuss why you want to change the appearance of your buttocks and what you hope to achieve by having buttocks implants. It would be helpful if you bring pictures with you of buttock sizes you personally like the look of for your own. The plastic surgeon will be able to inform you of what size buttocks implants will be needed to reshape your backside. He/she will also discuss options for the surgery with you at that time.

There are some really important things that you'll want to know; Some of the items that are necessary for you to know include the type of incision that will be made, the kind of implant that will be used, as well as the exact positioning of the implant. At this time you should make your doctor aware of any pre-existing health conditions you have as well as any medication you are taking. Find about the type of anesthesia that will be used during the procedure, what the procedure involves, how long it will take to perform, whether or not you will suffer discomfort afterwards and how long the recovery period will be. Any and all questions you have should be addressed at this time. This is the perfect time to ASK QUESTIONS...and lots of them!

This type of surgery generally takes place over a period of two to three hours and depends on a variety of factors including the technique that the surgeon decides upon, the patient’s anatomy, the positioning of the buttocks implants and the type of anesthesia that is used for the procedure. Most of the time for this kind of surgery a general anesthesia is used (patient is asleep), however some surgeons prefer to use a local anesthetic accompanied by a sedative to allow the patient to be both relaxed and drowsy.

The incision for buttock augmentation can be made either down the crease of the buttocks or where the cheek of the butt meets the back of the thigh. The majority of the time the incision is made in the crease because the scars from the surgery will not be evident. However the drawback to this type of incision is that infections are more likely to occur here than if it is made in the back of the thigh.

The surgeon needs to create a “pocket” that is big enough to allow for the insertion of the buttocks implants. The implants can be placed in one of two places, either on top of the gluteus maximus muscle or under it. In some cases liposuction is also performed at the same time to remove excess fat, thus making for even better looking buttocks.

After finishing one side the surgeon then does the same to the other, making sure that both sides of the buttocks are natural looking as well as symmetrical. Finally to conclude the operation he/she stitches up the incisions.
Unfortunately this form of surgery carries with it the risk of a lot of pain afterwards as buttock augmentation stretches and pulls the tissues. The stretching is the worst if the implants were placed under the gluteus maximus muscle. The first 48 hours can be the most difficult for pain but it lessens after that time period. Taking a pain medication could help to relieve the discomfort somewhat. Many plastic surgeons will prescribe both an antibiotic as well as an anti-inflammatory medication to their patients after surgery. Ask your physician what he/she feels you may or may not need.

Here is what to expect:

Upon waking after the procedure, the patient will feel sore, stiff and most likely, very tired. These symptoms are all normal. You just had some major surgery! A compression garment is put on patients after surgery for support and it should remain in place for the first few days following the surgery. Taking your medication as prescribed is very important in regards to healing. The patient will not be able to drive herself home and very likely will need someone to help her around the house for a couple of days afterwards. Cushion your new tush. Get something very soft to sit on. Most people find it necessary, and more comfortable to stay in bed for the first 24 hours after surgery. Take it slow...ease back into your schedule, and remember, your tush is your asset!

Men...They Are Difficult to Figure Out

I'm often asked so many questions by women on a number of topics that vary from  how to dress for a date; what color lipstick to wear and which stilettos might be more suitable to nabbing the man of their dreams? OK, so here's the truth: when you are out, look around the room at the women who get the men. Are they the ones in luminous red lipstick with big hairdos and skirts so short that their hooha's about to fall out? Their outfits are so tight that  you wonder how they'll even walk across the room let alone be able to go up to a man and get his digits? Ladies, you are over emphasizing what a man whats verse what a man needs. A man wants class. A man can pick up a cheap one night stand anytime, and anywhere. Some men do this religiously and have no morals,...oh but you see, these are the men that fit this above woman's description of what kind of man will seek them out.

So what do the 'real' men want? Simple, fun, and witty. They want a woman who has character, one who can make them smile and laugh. They want a woman who listens to them as well as their needs. They want a woman who can support them in their jobs and decisions. They desire a woman who doesn't take 2 hours to get ready to go out and a woman that he will actually recognize after she takes her make up off at the end of the day. Men have articulated time and time again that it's the woman who can pull off jeans and a T-shirt with flat shoes or sneakers and go from Prada to Nike in seconds strikes a chord.  A woman in a little black dress with simple jewelry and very little make up is what generally turns their heads.

We sure don't make it easy on the guys though, do we? There are many things women fail to understand about men. Such as why men like sports. And why they like to watch sport while having sex. I don't get that one, (and I certainly would not tolerate it.) We often wonder why they'll commit to some women and not others. Why they're so obsessed with man food (you know beer and nuts, wings, ribs, etc.) Why do they get moody? Why they don't like to talk about their feelings? Why they don't like it when you talk about your feelings. Oh ladies...The list goes on ... but the theme is always the same: why are men so difficult to figure out?

The truth at hand here is this; understanding men is not so easy. When you finally think that you have them figured out something happens that blows your belief. Regardless of all the jokes and old wives tales men are complicated creatures that require the right balance of emotions and respect. It does not matter whether you are in a dating relationship, marriage or the beginning of a relationship, the following dating tips will work regardless of what stage you are at and, hopefully, this article will give you a good understanding of how men think, what they want and how you can have a successful relationship.

Let's face it; there's no handbook that explains a man's odd behavior, and any attempt at understanding a man's behavior often leads to even more confusion. It's no wonder that men confuse women at all. The fact of the matter is that the male brain actually operates extremely differently from the female brain, creating a perplexing situation for women. First, it is important to understand that men and women do not think exactly alike. Just because you think you understand a comment or behavior it does not mean that you have the correct outlook on the situation. It takes time as well as experience to understand men and the first step is patience. A good way to have a better understanding of the male species is to toss out the old tales that you have heard all of your life. Men have emotions, fragile egos and a fear of failing in your eyes.

What a woman sees as machoness or arrogance from a man may be a BIG defense mechanism. Sometimes this is a mask that men wear to be a hero in your eyes, they want to be the only one that can satisfy you or take care of you. That is the leading goal of most men and they work very hard for it. If they feel that they have failed you will see anger, frustration and them building a wall around themselves and believe me, they're try very hard to not let you in. You need to give them their space just as we like to have ours. Show them that you are in no hurry really, and that you are quite the patient and understanding woman. This is what men want, and need. What they don't need is some "a high maintenance woman" with a big mouth that doesn't know when to quit.

Make sure that you keep a little mystery or spark in your relationship. You do not need to tell everything or give them a complete rundown of your entire day. Men are not detailed creatures like women are so a play by play of your day can provide boring for them. That is not to say that you should not have a conversation, but do not center it around what a coworker wore, the gossip, or other negative occurrences. Leave a little mystery and understand that you are both entitled to a little bit of privacy in your life. Understanding that couples are entitled to a bit of privacy in a relationship is one of the most misunderstood dating tips for women ever, but is one of the most important.

And last, but not least...if your dating partner is in a bad mood, quiet or just not acting themselves do not automatically think that they are upset with you or there is a problem with your relationship. Instead take the focus off of you and try to help him with whatever is stressing him. It may have been an incident at work, with a friend or a financial matter, the point is, do not always think that it has to do with you.

My advise (strictly unprofessional here?) Despite all this, if you can break a man's armor and connect with the soft spot held within, you get to join an elite group of women who actually understand men, despite their confusing ways. As a result, you will enjoy greater success and be able to attract the type of men that you want to attract. Healthy relationships are a key ingredient to happiness, so learning to understand men is definitely worth the effort. Is your man well guarded and over protective? If so, isn't it time for him to warm up to you and drop the barrier just a little bit?

Boost Your Self-Image...Love Your Body the Way it IS!

Do you have the "I LOVE MYSELF" image? If not you should, but so many women do not and for reasons that shatter their confidence as well as self-image. Why do women feel down when it comes to their figures? Why do we suffer the blues every time we pass one of those three way mirrors in a dressing room or in a store? It's because of all the social media today focusing so much on super skinny women, it's hard to think that you could possibly be desirable if you don't look like the women on TV and in magazines. This hoopla has created quite the buzz.

The reality is, the average woman in America weighs 164 lbs. and is a size 14. That's the facts. Why on earth do you think that my plus size lingerie store, www.SimplyLusciousLingerie.com does so well? It's because regardless of a woman's age or size/figure, I preach that women should love who they are first and foremost and once they do and they feel good about themselves as they certainly should, they can love who they are along with whatever size they are and be happy. You should feel beautiful on the inside and the outside. It starts with your lingerie. I know when I get up in the morning I look for something that is going to make me feel fabulous, and so should YOU!

A positive self-image is one of the top things most women struggle with. So, how can you learn to love your body the way it is? First of all ladies you need to focus on what you do like about your body. Soooo, here are a variety of questions to get you thinking about the things you DO like about yourself:
  • What areas do you get complimented on the most? What do others notice about you first when you walk into a room?
  • Do you smile and feel good about YOU?
  • Do you feel sexy?
  • Are you confident with who you are regardless of your shape or size?
  • Are you shapely with a larger busts and hips? Do you have a curvy figure?
  • Do you have nice legs? Or do you have cankles?
  • Do people comment on how pretty you are or often say that you have beautiful eyes?
  • Do you like to show off your feet with pretty sandals or open toed shoes?
  • Is your hair shiny and beautiful? Do you like to touch it or play with it?
Instead of being overly critical and negative, be grateful for the body and health you do have. So give yourself permission to see and accept the good and love what body you have!

Boosting Your Self-Image with the Perfect Clothing

Listen,...learning to love your body is important because having a good self-image empowers you in many ways. When you love the way you look, you feel more confident and confidence gives you the ability to do anything you set your mind to. Dressing for your body type also plays a big part in how you look and see yourself, so it's important to know what color, style, shape and material of clothing looks best on you. If it looks great on a model or someone else, it does not mean that it will work best for you. You can dress up or down, but either way you should feel comfy in what you are wearing for sure. If your closet is full of worn out t-shirts and old raggy faded blue jeans, it's time for a wardrobe makeover!

My very own unprofessional advice? Take a good, honest friend or family member shopping with you to help you choose clothes that fit well and colors that look best on you. Remember, what you may like is something that you have been wearing for years and years. Are you stuck in a time warp? Could be...and if so it's time for some outside reinforcements! Updating your wardrobe doesn't have to be expensive either. Begin by shopping resale stores. Oftentimes you can find brand name, never worn clothes at prices greatly below retail. However, don't settle for less than the best for your body type. If you can't find the perfect items for your body, then don't buy the clothes just because they're cheap.

Build your wardrobe from the bottom up on a budget; starting with the most basic necessities:
  • Black dress pants for work or an evening out
  • One dressy blouse for work or an evening out
  • One power suit for job interviews or business
  • A black skirt
  • Camisoles in a variety of colors for layering
  • A well fitting pair of blue jeans for casual days
  • 2 to 3 casual tops (by casual I'm not talking t-shirts either)
  • 2 pair of shoes: 1 for dress and 1 for casual
When you've got the basic necessities, then you can build your wardrobe up from there by adding dressy blouses or tops in different colors and styles, more skirts in various styles and colors.

Once you start loving your body by recognizing what you do like about it and dressing to fit your body type, you'll gain a whole new confidence like you've never felt before and other people will take notice too. You may notice others reacting somewhat differently toward you as they respond to your new confidence...and we all know that confidence does your body good. You have to think beauty to feel beauty regardless of your size or shape.

So hey ladies... start learning to love your body now. You're sexy and  oh so beautiful!

Blepharoplasty...Let's Get Rid of the Bags

Do you have saggy eyes? Do you feel like at your age you look 10-15 years older than you should? Does the skin under your eyes droop and just sort of hang there? No, it may not be super noticeable to many people, but if it is you that has to deal with this issue day in and day out, you'll know that it is bothersome and can break the confidence level at best. Now your eyes can look, see and feel better! Your eyes are often the first thing that people notice about your appearance and are probably the most important aspect of facial attractiveness. Did you know that loose skin around your eyes can make you look tired or sad or older than you really are. Fortunately, with modern treatments and advances in an eyelid rejuvenation procedure called blepharoplasty, your doctor can help restore a more youthful, alert, and healthy look to your eyes. Statistics have indicated that blepharoplasty has become one of the most popular cosmetic procedures for both men and women because of its high level of patient satisfaction. I'm going to get a bit technical on you here because unlike stories about love, relationships, Cinderella, single parenting, sexy lingerie and and my store www.simplydeliciouslingerie.com I'm in uncharted territories with this topic. I have researched this for many of you that wrote me about it so please allow me to explain what I discovered.

A common side effect of aging is the development of bags under the eyes. It generally occurs because the protective layer of fat surrounding the eyes begins to sag in response to gravity and decreased elasticity of the skin. This problem not only makes the face look older, but it also gives the person a perpetually tired look. Through an eye bag removal procedure, the patient can look younger and wide awake.

A Closer Look at the Causes of Eye Bags
A variety of factors can actually contribute to the formation of eye bags. The pressure of the fat around the eyes can cause the ligaments, skin, and muscles to become more lax. Sometimes, there is extra fat behind the support wall of the eyelid, which gives them a baggy appearance. In other cases, the relaxed skin itself actually causes the bag because there is simply too much skin in the area. For some, the muscle in the lid has thickened or the upper eyelids form a bag because of drooping eyebrows.

Each of these conditions have specialized names and procedures for correcting them. In many patients, more than one of these conditions exists and all must be fixed in order to improve the appearance of the skin and to remove the bags. Blepharochalasis, for example, is the combination of thinning eyelid skin, protrusion of skin folds in the eyelids, and lid swelling. Dermochalasis, on the other hand, is simply extra skin. Hypertrophy of the orbicularis muscle is when there is an overgrowth of the eyelid muscle and a protrusion of fat. Brow ptosis, on the other hand, is when the upper eyelids are baggy because of drooping eyebrows. A competent surgeon will be able to identify the cause or causes of the eye bags before surgery and discuss options with the patient ahead of time.

Eye Bag Removal Procedure and it's effects?
Eye bag removal surgery is done to correct the puffy bags that form below a patient’s eyes or drooping upper lids. These bags make the patient look older and tired. For some patients, these eye bags can even interfere with vision. Eye bag removal surgery can remove the puffy and droopy look around the eyes, but it will not eliminate crow’s feet or dark circles under the eyes. In addition, eye bag removal surgery does not lift sagging eyebrows.
The eye bag removal procedure can also be used to create an upper eyelid crease in Asian eyes, but it cannot be used to eliminate natural traits associated with ethnic or racial lineage. This procedure is often used along with other surgeries, such as a browlift of a facelift, to improve the overall appearance of the face and the skin on the face.

Who are the Eye Bag Surgery Candidates?
The best candidates for eye bag surgery are those who are physically fit and realistic in their expectations of what the surgery can offer. Most patients are 35 years or older, but those with a history of baggy or droopy eyelids may have the surgery at a younger age.
Patients coping with certain medical conditions are considered to be more risky when it comes to undergoing eye bag surgery. For example, thyroid problems such as Grave’s disease and hypothyroidism have a greater risk of complications. Dry eye, glaucoma, and a detached retina are also risk factors. Patients with other medical conditions generally considered risky when undergoing surgery, such as circulatory disorders, diabetes, and high blood pressure, are also at a greater risk of encountering complications when undergoing the procedure.

Let's talk turkey....what is the procedure?
The eye bag removal procedure involves several small incisions that are made below the eyelash. This allows the surgeon to remove both excess skin and fat that is causing the bags to appear. Generally, the procedure, which is called blepharoplasty, is performed on both the upper and lower eyelids. In the case of the upper eyelids, a strip of skin may also be removed, but the skin is removed in a natural crease in the eyelid in order to minimize the appearance of scarring. The eye bag removal procedure usually entails staying the day in the hospital or the night, depending on when the procedure begins. Does this sound like something you can tolerate?

After the Procedure
After completing the eye bag removal procedure, stitches are generally removed about 3 to 7 days after the surgery is completed. After the stitches are removed, the patient can usually resume normal activities and you're appearance will look years younger! No more hiding behind those sun glasses, get out there and enjoy your life!

Single Parenting...It Isn't Easy

Being the single parent was never easy, so I'm not going to tell you that it is, or was. There are probably a half dozen reasons why you are a 'single mom.' If you are bitter because you are a single mom, think about what is so great about being a single mom. My first though is to take all of those unwanted variables out of the picture and start taking 100% responsibility for everything. You are where you are for better or for worse, because of decisions that 'you' made. My advice, although not at all professional; Take charge and own up to all of your responsibilities. Only then will you realize that you call all the shots and you decide what is going to happen next in your life. You are in control of your destiny and the future is all up to YOU!

Having a support system you can count on is absolutely vital, not just to "surviving" single parenthood, but to maintaining your sense of self at the same time. I recommend that single moms and dads develop support in three key areas:
  • Local family and friends
  • Local single parents
  • Online single parents
Learn how to say "NO!"

You are the role model, so stand firm and don't back down. There are a lot of things you need to say "No" to in your life: Your kids' tendency to manipulate you into giving in, the guilt that's been weighing you down since you embarked on this single parenting journey, the expectations of others who have no idea what it's like to walk in your shoes. It's not always easy to say no and set firm boundaries in your life, but it's important to remember that being willing to say "No," when necessary, creates space in your life for the things you really want to say "Yes" to.

Think before you speak, and for God sakes, while in front of your children, put on your happy face even if you are crying underneath.Your attitude is entirely contagious. Not only does it affect your kids' ability to handle every day ups and downs, but it also has the power to impact whether the future for your family is born of hope or despair. One way to change your attitude is to begin blogging or create a diary and use it writing how you feel each day on a regular basis. Once you start writing down the challenges you face every day, you begin to see solutions right there on the pages in front of you.

Learn to live within your means; believe me, this is NOT easy especially if you were married to someone that supported you. I never worked during my marriage. That was a great thing to be allowed that quality time to raise my two children, but a bad thing, very very bad because he had me over a barrel. I didn't know how to be anything other than a mother and wife. Don't make my mistakes, get independent and stay independent. One of the most challenging and powerful habits you can develop as a highly successful single parent is to live within your means. Don't get into the practice of living on credit or relying on the promise of money you may or may not receive. Instead, learn to make wise financial decisions, like choosing a home you can truly afford to maintain, and trimming unnecessary costs out of your budget.

This final habit of highly successful single parents will help you to further develop a life beyond caring for your kids, as well as open new doors to career advancement and, over time, even grow your income potential. Consider taking classes at a local college, take online courses, or even just taking advantage of the free resources available to you through your local public library to learn about topics that interest and inspire you. As a testimonial to others, I can state that with all that I have been through, the ups, the downs and the in between, you have the opportunity to have it all. Follow your heart and your dreams. No Negative Nancy! Set goals for yourself. Being single is not having the plague, it just means you are in charge of your own destiny, and you can do anything with a positive attitude, Yes it is possible!

7 Reasons for Women to Drink WINE

We like to go out with our friends but we're always wondering 'what's the best thing to drink?' Hey, we are always counting calories not to mention following health trends and risks. When it comes to reducing your risk of heart disease and cancer, there aren't many easy and pleasurable methods of prevention. That might be why studies touting the health benefits of red wine consumption always get a lot of attention. So, is red wine really the toast of the town when it comes to health paybacks? The answer is yes and no. While properties in red wine do help prevent heart disease and some cancers, and reduce inflammation caused by arthritis, these benefits aren't unique to red wine. The antioxidants in red wine may be more concentrated than in other foods because of the fermentation process they go through. New research suggests women who drink a moderate amount of alcohol on a regular basis, particularly when red wine is the drink of choice, are less likely to experience long-term weight gain than non-drinkers. Have a glass of wine with your friends when you go out. There are less calories in wine than in many mixed drinks that will go to straight to your hips!

1. Feed your head
Wine could preserve your memory, and let me tell you, as we age, we want to preserve as much as everything as we can! When researchers gave memory quizzes to women in their 70s, those who drank one drink or more every day scored much better than those who drank less or not at all. Wine helps prevent clots and reduce blood vessel inflammation, both of which have been linked to cognitive decline and heart disease, explains Tedd Goldfinger, DO, of the University of Arizona School of Medicine. Alcohol also seems to raise HDL, the so-called good cholesterol, which helps unclog your arteries.

2. Keep the scale in your corner
Studies find that people who drink wine daily have lower body mass than those who indulge occasionally; moderate wine drinkers have narrower waists and less abdominal fat than people who drink liquor. Alcohol may encourage your body to burn extra calories for as long as 90 minutes after you down a glass. Beer seems to have a similar effect. OK, this is all that I needed to read...anything to assist me in losing some of my ass is fine with me. Drink in moderation, please, and never drink and drive.

 3. Boost your body’s defenses
In one British study, those who drank roughly a glass of wine a day reduced by 11% their risk of infection by Helicobacter pylori bacteria, a major cause of gastritis, ulcers, and stomach cancers. As little as half a glass may also guard against food poisoning caused by germs like salmonella when people are exposed to contaminated food, according to a Spanish study.

4. Guard against the ovarian woes
When Australian researchers recently compared women with ovarian cancer to cancer-free women, they found that roughly one glass of wine a day seemed to reduce the risk of the disease by as much as 50 percent. Earlier research at the University of Hawaii produced similar findings. Experts suspect this may be due to antioxidants or phytoestrogens, which have high anticancer properties and are prevalent in wine. In a recent University of Michigan study, a red wine compound helped kill ovarian cancer cells in a test tube.

5. Build better bones
On average, women who drink moderately seem to have higher bone mass than abstainers. Alcohol appears to boost estrogen levels; the hormone seems to slow the body’s destruction of old bone more than it slows the production of new bone.

6. Prevent blood-sugar trouble
Premenopausal women who drink one or two glasses of wine a day are 40 percent less likely than women who don’t drink to develop type 2 diabetes, according to a 10-year study by Harvard Medical School. While the reasons aren’t clear, wine seems to reduce insulin resistance in diabetic patients.

7. Cooking with Wine

Here are my favorite ways to use wine in light cooking:
  • Wine helps cook and add flavor to fish. Deep-fried fish dipped in tartar sauce, albeit tasty, defeats the nutritional purpose of eating fish. One way to add flavor and moisture to fish without adding fat is to cook it with wine. You can add wine to the pan while the fish is simmering, poach the fish over a saucepan of boiling wine, or drizzle fish with a tablespoon or two of wine and bake it in a foil package.
  • Wine is a great ingredient in marinades. Wine is basically an acid ingredient (which helps tenderize the outside of the meat) and it has a lot of flavor. The wine-based marinade helps keep meat, poultry, or seafood moist while it cooks, too.
  • Wine can help cook and simmer foods. Add wine to dishes you're cooking in a skillet on the stove, in a slow cooker, or in the oven. Simmered along with the food, it adds flavor and moisture to whatever dish you're making.
  • Wine can be used in baking, too! For certain types of cakes, using wine or sherry in place of some of the fat not only lightens up the cake but adds complimentary flavors.

Online Dating Tips for Newbies...

Are you a newbie to the dating world? Are you looking for love in all the wrong places? If appears that we all do more often than not. As women, to be in your 20's, 30's, 40's 50's and even in your 60's women are going with a brand new trend where popularity is growing something fierce! We all hate the whole dating game and quite frankly it gets a bit old trying to plan for an evening out when we have no idea what-so-ever how it's going to go down. So many things can go wrong and we're just tired of all the drama that tends to go along with it. It's not easy being single, then throw in the ole' "Oh hey, did I mention that I am a single mom" line and they scatter quickly. We get tired of trying things the old fashion way...church, grocery store, gas station, night clubs (even though I totally disagree with women trying to hook up with anything serious from this- just not a good idea)...so what's a gal to do? Try online dating! Hell, why not? Everyone else and their sister is doing it? So how does one get started? What can you expect?

When you are starting out you are aiming toward a relationship where dating is the reality of it all. There are some things that you absolutely must not do. Please ladies pay attention...I wrote the book on "No'No's!"
Some of these things will kill his interest before you begin getting to know him so be careful not to fall into these traps. If they don't catch up to you right away, there's still time and trust me, they will backfire on you further down the line, and put an end to everything you have built up so far. So avoid these mistakes at all costs, and just be YOU!

1. Do not lie
We all know that a few white lies seem so harmless..but are they, really? It is so tempting to tell a few, especially online where nobody can see you and you may not get caught out. But remember you are not going to get anywhere if this relationship never makes it off your computer into real life. You are hoping to meet this guy pretty soon, and most of your lies will catch up with you.

Many people lie about their age, and especially their marital status, their weight, height, job, and even what movies or foods they like, trying to make them seem more attractive to their ideal mate. The sad thing is that the more interested the guy is, and the more he likes you, the more disappointed and turned off he will be when he finds out you lied to him..and he will find out!

He may not care that you are a couple of years older than him,in fact, that might intrigue him but he WILL care that you lied. He will feel betrayed and that he cannot trust you, and he will wonder what other lies you told.
So if there is a question you don't want to answer, either ignore it or say you'll tell him when you know him better. You do not have to reveal all your secrets but there is no need to lie.

2. Do not use an old photo
Do not have a photo that is ten years old on your profile. It may attract the guy to your profile in the first place, but he will be disappointed when he meets you and finds you looking more wrinkly than he expected. It is almost as bad as finding out you lied. He may not say anything but he will feel that he has been deceived.
Instead, try to find a recent picture that still makes you look good. This may mean having one taken professionally. Do not worry about the cost - it is worth it. Think of it as an investment in your future.

3. Do not tell all too soon
There is nothing worse than boring a guy with your whole life story the moment he gets in touch with you. Learn the art of telling just a little - enough to arouse interest but not enough to satisfy it, and certainly not so much that you send him to sleep. Always leave him wanting more! A good rule of thumb here is to look at how much he wrote you and write back a little less. Answer any questions that he asked you, unless you do not want to for some reason, but answer them briefly. For example if he asks you what you do, just tell him. Do not give him your full resume or describe your whole day at work.
Most people like to talk at least as much as they like to listen. Concentrate on listening, being interested in him and asking him the same types of questions that he is asking you.

4. Do not be too eager
Generally, it is better not to contact guys first on an online dating site. Let them do most of the hunting and conquering. This will keep them interested. It also makes sure that you do not waste your time on guys who only answered your email to be polite. Oh and if they have the audacity to send you an email that says you look hot, have a nice ass, call your boobs 'tit's or anything else in that nature, drop them like a hot potato and find someone who shows you some respect!

If you see a guy's profile that you really like and you decide to contact him first, simply write him one line asking him to take a look at your profile. Then leave it to him to do that and get in touch with you if he wants to.
When a guy does contact you, do not write back too fast. Wait at least 24 hours from the time that he sent the message. Then if he writes again after a week, leave it longer the next time. Show him that if he wants to hear from you quickly, he must not keep you waiting too long. If he sounds too good to be true....guess what? He probably is...this is a RED FLAG!

Do not be the one to suggest a face to face meeting first. This is very likely to scare him away. Guys are usually very keen to meet women they are interested in so that they can get things onto a real life, physical basis. So if he doesn't suggest it, there will be a reason. He may be too busy right now, he may have lied about something, he may even be married. Forget it. Stay in touch casually by email if you want to, but keep looking for someone who does want to meet you so that you can move onto relationship dating for real...enough games, get with the program boys!
