What is a Teddy?

The teddy is basically a body suit that is sexy and fun. It can have cups for a bra, with out cups and straight or have no cups at all. No matter what kind you have the teddy will be an intricate part of your wardrobe. The word teddy is probably the first thing most people think of when they hear the word lingerie, at least it is for me. An image pops up of this sexy spaghetti strapped little lacy one-piece suit right? Well the teddy is more than just that. The teddy adds flare to your clothing by enhancing what you have and hiding any flaws you might think you have. Find your favorite color and wear it with confidence. Mine happens to be black. It can be worn as a slinky sexy shirt with your favorite pants or skirt. No one but you would know that it was truly a teddy. You could wear it underneath another sexy outfit to be revealed later at just the right moment. No matter how you use it will be right and feel right.

The key to a good teddy is one that fits right, enhances your best features, and hides the rest. With so many styles and combinations out there today anyone can find what works for them. Know what is out there and do not be afraid to shop around. There are too many styles to be in a rush and you can afford to be picky. Figure out what you are looking for and shop for that specific item first. You will want to go shopping armed with your correct dress, blouse, panty, and bra size. This will give you all the ammunition you will need to get the right teddy. You will want to know if you what you find comfortable and non-irritating. If you know lace makes you itchy then do not buy a lace teddy because it is pretty. You want to be able to wear and enjoy this luxury item for more than ten minutes, there is nothing worse than wearing something that will make you feel uncomfortable.

Now, think about talk fabric and color. There are so many fabric designs it isn’t even funny. Silk will provide you with a soft comfortable piece that can be worn all the time. It is sexy and alluring, yet versatile, flexible and comfortable to wear. Satin is very similar to silk yet it can be washed easier. You will feel nothing but sheer delight when wearing this teddy. Lace teddies are wonderful intimate pieces that can be used for much fun. Semi-sheer and partially see through makes looking sexy feel like a game. Mesh teddies have nothing to hide, literally. This completely see through number will drive any man crazy. Not to mention all of the combinations. Silk or satin combined with lace is always a hit combination. It adds sex appeal to your smoothness. It doesn’t matter how much lace or mesh you throw into your fabric design as long as you are comfortable and feel absolutely divine.

Color scheme is one of the least thought about parts of purchasing lingerie. Most women buy either their own or their partner’s favorite color. The second most popular color is the standard black or white teddy. This is a fashion no-no. you want to know which colors best suit you. Buying a teddy is about enhancing what you have. You need to take into consideration the color of your eyes, your hair, and your skin tone. You don’t want to look washed out or so dark you don’t notice the colors you are wearing. Make sure your teddy brings out your eyes. Most women with fair skin look better in medium to dark colors than light pastels that wash them out. Darker skinned beauties look fabulous in light and pastel colors to contrast their skin tone, hair, and eyes. Those with a medium complexion look awesome in earth tones and dark colors that accentuate their more olive complexion.

So once you have figured out what you are looking for and what is the right style and color for you, get that teddy. You feel fun and spectacular as you walk down the street knowing that you have your naughty little secret hidden underneath. Every woman should have at least that one special teddy in her wardrobe for that special occasion. There is nothing better than a sexy sleek teddy to make a woman feel like a million bucks! Find what accentuates your shape best and get a little risque tonight! Sexy Lingerie is what it's all about, so flaunt what you have and show your confident side!

Do You Have Restless Legs Syndrome?

You may not know what to call those creepy-crawly, tingly-tightening sensations in your legs. Although RLS symptoms typically occur in the legs, studies have shown those unusual leg sensations are neurological in nature. Which is why the feeling can be, well, so unnerving. RLS can make sleeping and traveling difficult and uncomfortable. People with RLS have difficulty lying down and sleeping because their legs just won’t let them, and a lack of Z’s can mean you’re tired, which may effect your ability to do normal activities the next day. RLS can also make you avoid doing things you once enjoyed, like taking long car or plane trips, or going to the movies. Sound familiar? Believe me, I know all about this....allow me to share what I know now with you:
Restless Legs Syndrome
Restless legs syndrome — Comprehensive overview covers symptoms, treatment of disorder that can cause insomnia.

Definition
Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a condition in which your legs feel extremely uncomfortable while you're sitting or lying down. It makes you feel like getting up and moving around. When you do so, the unpleasant feeling of restless legs syndrome temporarily goes away.
Restless legs syndrome can begin at any age and generally worsens as you get older. Women are more likely than men to develop this condition. Restless legs syndrome can disrupt sleep — leading to daytime drowsiness — and make traveling difficult.
A number of simple self-care steps and lifestyle changes may help you. Medications also help many people with restless legs syndrome.

Symptoms
Commonly described sensationsPeople typically describe restless legs syndrome (RLS) symptoms as unpleasant sensations in their calves, thighs, feet or arms, often expressed as:
  • Crawling
  • Tingling
  • Cramping
  • Creeping
  • Pulling
  • Painful
  • Electric
  • Tense
  • Uncomfortable
  • Itchy
  • Tugging
  • Gnawing
  • Aching
  • Burning
Sometimes the sensations seem to defy description. Affected people usually don't describe the condition as a muscle cramp or numbness. They do, however, consistently describe the desire to move or handle their legs.
It's common for symptoms to fluctuate in severity, and occasionally symptoms disappear for periods of time.
Commonly reported patternsCommon characteristics of RLS signs and symptoms include:
  • Starts during inactivity. The sensation typically begins after you've been lying down or sitting for an extended period of time, such as in a car, airplane or movie theater.
  • Relief by movement. The sensation of RLS lessens if you get up and move. People combat the sensation of restless legs in a number of ways — by stretching, jiggling their legs, pacing the floor, exercising or walking. This compelling desire to move is what gives restless legs syndrome its name.
  • Worsening of symptoms in the evening. Symptoms typically are less bothersome during the day and are felt primarily at night.
  • Nighttime leg twitching. RLS may be associated with another condition called periodic limb movements of sleep (PLMS). Once called myoclonus, PLMS causes you to involuntarily flex and extend your legs while sleeping — without being aware you're doing it. Hundreds of these twitching or kicking movements may occur throughout the night. If you have severe RLS, these involuntary kicking movements may also occur while you're awake. PLMS is common in older adults, even without RLS, and doesn't always disrupt sleep. More than 4 out of 5 people with RLS also experience PLMD.
When to see a doctorSome people with restless legs syndrome never seek medical attention because they worry that their symptoms are too difficult to describe or won't be taken seriously. Some doctors wrongly attribute symptoms to nervousness, stress, insomnia or muscle cramps. But RLS has received more media attention and focus from the medical community in recent years, making more people aware of the condition.
If you think you may have RLS, call your doctor.

What Causes This?
In many cases, no known cause for restless legs syndrome exists. Researchers suspect the condition may be due to an imbalance of the brain chemical dopamine. This chemical sends messages to control muscle movement.
HeredityRLS runs in families in up to half the people with RLS, especially if the condition started at an early age. Researchers have identified sites on the chromosomes where genes for RLS may be present.
PregnancyPregnancy or hormonal changes may temporarily worsen RLS signs and symptoms. Some women experience RLS for the first time during pregnancy, especially during their last trimester. However, for most of these women, signs and symptoms usually disappear quickly after delivery.
Related conditionsFor the most part, restless legs syndrome isn't related to a serious underlying medical problem. However, RLS sometimes accompanies other conditions, such as:
  • Peripheral neuropathy. This damage to the nerves in your hands and feet is sometimes due to chronic diseases such as diabetes and alcoholism.
  • Iron deficiency. Even without anemia, iron deficiency can cause or worsen RLS. If you have a history of bleeding from your stomach or bowels, experience heavy menstrual periods or repeatedly donate blood, you may have iron deficiency.
  • Kidney failure. If you have kidney failure, you may also have iron deficiency, often with anemia. When kidneys fail to function properly, iron stores in your blood can decrease. This, along with other changes in body chemistry, may cause or worsen RLS.

So many people have this and don't know how to ease the pain. If you are experiencing this and you are anything like me, I walked the floors at night with muscle spasms not knowing what they were, then I went to see my doctor and she determined what it was. I had blood work done and everything came back OK so it was nothing that was serious, just annoying. She gave me a prescription BUT it made me sick to my stomach, so I discontinued using it...there I was back to square one...then my father told me that a gentleman that used to work for him in the steel mills used to get spasms in his legs for months and complained and then one day he stopped complaining. My father asked him about this and he told him that he used an old fashion home remedy and it worked. My dad figured that I didn't have anything to lose and a lot of extra sleep at night to gain if this would only work for me so he suggested doing what he heard. What was it you wonder?
Put a bar of soap in between the mattress and your fitted sheets near the footboard of your bed and leave it there. I laughed at first and thought I'd humor my dad, but guess what?

......A little over a week later the spasms stopped and I was sleeping through the night. I used whatever bar of soap I had in the linen closet, and at the time it was COAST. I was told that you should use Ivory soap but COAST worked just fine for me. If you are laughing right now, don't. I did, and had I not done this I might still be walking the floor at night in pain. Believe it or not I am a sucker for trying home remedies as crazy and far fetched as they may sound, if it can't kill me, I'll try it and then I'll share it with you. Because of this one man telling my father this, and then me Googling it to see if there was any truth in it, (and yes there was as other people have done it also and noticed big improvements in their condition) TRY IT!

Where to Look for LOVE?

Day after day I am asked....Where are the best places to look for love? Many people wonder...is it even possible to find real love anymore? how do you know if you're doing the right things? What if you're doing the wrong things? How does one really, truly know where and how to look for love? We certainly don't want to be looking in "all the wrong places!" Have you tried everything to attract men, yet seem to fall flat on your face each time? It's true - looking for someone to love is much different for us, today, than it was for our parents and grandparents. Let's face it guys and gals, times are certainly changing! If finding a great match seems impossible, don't give up hope! You're talking to a hopeless romantic herself, and I believe that it happens when you least expect it to. There are plenty of opportunities to find someone to fall in love with someone....don't rush it. It may not happen today or even tomorrow, but one day when you least expect it, love will come knocking on your door.
The truth is, there are no magic formulas, no fail-proof tricks, no cunning ways of trapping Mr. or Miss Right. There are however some essential facts that you should always bear in mind along the way. Dating tips are just that – tips, not one-size-fits-all guarantees. Different tacks will work for different people. It depends on the situation, who we are, where we are in our lives, etc. However, there are some threads of advice that are fairly universal and can benefit anyone who practices them:
If you want to meet someone in your immediate area, you could just be in luck. If you attend religious services, or if you take classes, you are very likely to meet someone compatible at your place of worship or at school.Coffee houses, book stores, and even the local supermarket can be good places to find guys too - it's just a matter of being in the same place at the same time. If you like a certain place and enjoy hanging out there, you're very likely to see others, including men, who are frequently there at the same time as you are. Don't leave it up to the guy! Strike up a conversation if you are attracted to someone. Some of the best catches are still out there just because nobody has been brave enough to initiate a conversation. Now is your moment to step up to the plate, take a deep breath and go for it.

Before you go for it though,....get prepared for dating. If you really want to succeed in the dating game, be ready to commit to dating. Half-heartedness won’t work. In fact, it won’t even get you half-way. If you really want to date, put some effort into it. Do some research and think about what you want out of dating. Prepare yourself for the inevitable rejection we all face at some point in dating and commit not to give up.If you want the modern day way to find love...take a peek into the internet dating sites! They are a great way of browsing profiles and saying hello to someone. Match.com has been around for years. Christian Mingle.com is a good one, but this morning as I sat and watched "The Live with Kelly Show" she had Carrie Ann Inaba as a co-host on (a judge on Dancing with the Stars) and Carrie spoke of how she met her husband to be on Eharmony.com! What a great way to advertise for them, and she wasn't getting paid by them for it, she was simply expressing where she found true love. The only thing that really stuck out was "BE HONEST" in your profile. If she could find a man by stating "Crazy Cat Lady" so can you! She found a man who also loves cats and is a hard working business man. I sat as I watched this show and thought ..."Wow~!" At Simply Delicious Lingerie, I encourage you to be confident and go after what you want. Remember confidence comes for feeling good within, all the way down to the lingerie you wear everyday. Dress yourself up and feel sexy. People will take notice!

The most important thing in dating is JUST BE YOURSELF, BE HONEST, and take one day at a time!

Erotic and Exotic Thigh Highs, Stockings, Garters....

True or False...Men love stockings, garters and thigh highs? TRUE! Erotic and exotic these combos knock a man off his feet. If you want to get intense but tease him slowly, this MUST be a part of your attire. So what are their purpose and how do they work exactly? The stockings bind the thighs tightly while the suspenders are taut across the thigh to the belt or girdle that in turn binds the waist of the object of a man’s passion...YOU!

If the stockings are seamed then the strong line at the rear of each stocking-clad leg runs parallel to the suspenders. This geometry also plays a part in creating an intricate architecture of desire. A sensual balance of elastic forces and potential energy bound against vulnerable flesh. Add to this potent mix fishnet stockings with the leg held tightly in a mesh and you have an explosive formula. Truth be told the appeal is like unwrapping a present. It's stimulating and surprising all rolled into one.

When you see the naked body, you’ve seen it all. It’s the same as getting a birthday present wrapped up in paper and ribbons. There’s as much excitement in unwrapping the gift as there is in the present itself.
Stockings are also sexy because they show a bit of flesh but not everything. I think it’s an association thing with men – they’re used to seeing stockings on sexy models in magazines so the stockings trigger a response in the male mind.

I say it’s the look and feel of the stocking that turn men on. The attraction is part visual, part tactile and part glamour. As a man moves his fingertips slowly up the leg toward the top of the stocking, the silky feel of the material and the promise of caressing warm flesh under a suspender at the journey's end is incredibly stimulating. The glamour of stockings also evokes the 1940s and 50s and the golden age of sensual Hollywood femme fatales. Mind you, it just wouldn’t be so erotic if the stockings were baggy, the suspenders hanging loose and the garter belt slack. The tension and the tightness has something to do with what makes it feel so exciting. Shop for a variety of sexy lingerie and stockings that will turn your romance from low to high heat in an instant!

Does Anxiety Control YOU?

Everyday can be stressful and even the slightest things can set us off and cause disruption in our way of everyday living...I've allowed it to happen to me several times and I am sure that if you saw the subject of this article and clicked on it to read the contents, most like you have at one time or another experienced it as well. In all honesty, there is absoulutely nothing to feel ashamed of. My anxiety can affect me in a variety of ways. At first I did not know how to deal with it not did I understand why exactly this was hapening to me. So why does it happen? What causes it? Work, family issues, life, love? Whe you truly understand what anxiety is, you can then learn how to manage it, and deal with it.

How to manage anxiety
Managing one's anxiety is a key task of being an adult human being and taking responsibility for oneself. It is also a difficult task and will take effort and practice.

First of all, anxiety will always be part of our lives and we need to develop a certain level of tolerance to feeling anxious. It is not possible to live life without anxiety. As self-aware beings, who can think about many possible futures and we can always make up scenarios about which we can worry. Also, we need to take appropriate risks in our lives. If we could keep ourselves as safe as possible we would never leave our houses nor live a fulfilling life. In all, life is about living. Don't be afraid to jump in and get your feet wet sometimes...if you don't you'll never know what the outcome will be and you truly may be missing out on something great!

Anxiety is part of our bodies, a natural response, which alerts us to potential danger. Just like physical pain it is uncomfortable, but really necessary to guide us in life. It is OK and natural to feel anxious some of the time. Part of managing anxiety successfully is to accept that it will be part of your life. For example, some of the time we may worry about our partner leaving us. This is part of the price we pay for attaching and loving the other in the first place. Accepting a certain level of anxiety means we don't let it stop us living life or investing in someone. Also, accepting it means we don't make things worse by ruminating too much about why we are anxious, or criticizing ourselves for feeling that way.
However, anxiety can grow into fear, or even panic. In that case it can be one of the most stressful and uncomfortable experiences we can have. If anxiety goes beyond levels we can accept and tolerate we need to actively manage and regulate it:

·         Regulating anxiety involves three levels, which all need to be addressed:

·         Thinking
·         Feeling
·         The body

Thinking
Anxiety can greatly influence our thinking in a way that isn't rational. We may easily go into catastrophizing, i.e. imagining the worst possible nightmare to become true. However, this is your imagination going wild and often has no basis in real life.

Managing your anxiety on a thinking level involves looking at all the evidence rationally. Is there any real reason for you to be anxious? For example, do you have any real evidence that your partner doesn't love you anymore? Would this evidence sound rational and substantial to your best friend or a colleague at work? It helps to check out our 'evidence' with others to see whether we have blown things out of proportion or not. In terms of transactional analysis theory, we would say we need to make an assessment about your fears from the Adult ego state. Or, in other words: from a rational perspective based on your abilities and knowledge as an adult today, is there anything to be anxious about? If yes, is there anything practical you can do about the situation?
Don't let the remaining irrational fears seduce you into going over the practical evidence again and again. Hold on to your rational conclusions and move on to managing your anxiety on an emotional and physical level.

Feeling
Apart from influencing our thinking, anxiety is also an emotional and physical process. On an emotional level we experience ourselves as scared, panicky or terrified when we feel anxious. Within the transactional analysis model we locate irrational fears in the child ego state. Another way of looking at irrational fears is that they are a memory of how scared we were as children, which we experience in response to hear and now situations as if the fear is about today. Any anxiety or fear which seems out of proportion to today's events or which is irrational and out of context will most likely be about the past rather than the present.

Anxiety is often left over from childhood as it has a lot to do with attachment. Building up a secure attachment with your main caregiver as a baby results in feelings of safety, trust in the world, and trust in oneself. However, if we do not feel securely attached, or our caregivers are at some point absent, depressed, or anxious and stressed themselves, we do not get enough help with managing early anxieties about being in the world. We then need to practice this skill as adults to learn to manage anxiety better.

Anxiety which is left over from the past may be experienced extremely powerfully in the present. This is because as children we do not yet have the emotional or physical ability to regulate anxiety successfully. It is as if our brains and minds are not yet ready to manage anxiety and we need an adult  to support us with this process. The child will experience anxiety as all-consuming or unbearable due to the lack of physical and emotional maturity to be able to regulate it. If we re-experience the same anxiety today as adults, we also tend to experience the level of anxiety as all-consuming or unbearable, although we now have the potential to regulate the anxiety and certainly will survive feeling it.

So how does one regulate our own anxiety in the body?

To regulate anxiety on an emotional level we need to support ourselves in the same way a good and available adult would have done in the past. We need to soothe ourselves by being kind to ourselves, maybe using positive statements about ourselves, and telling ourselves that we will be OK and that we have done all the practical steps we could take to solve the situation. Therefore, we need to reassure ourselves, accept that the anxiety will be there, and not panic about it. If we panic about anxiety, we get even more anxious as we build up anticipatory anxiety: we get anxious about being anxious. This can become a vicious cycle. At this point simply accept the anxiety that you're feeling right now and keep your thoughts in the present rather than letting your mind drift to dwell on all sorts of possibilities in the future. Keep reminding yourself that it is normal and natural to feel anxious.

If you have checked out your thinking,  you can reassure yourself that your anxiety will be about the past not the present and that the present situation is safe, or as safe as can be given life's uncertainties. Beyond that there is no point worrying as as Doris Day once sang... "whatever will be, will be".

Keep reminding yourself that you are safe here and now, despite feeling anxiety from the past.Let it go! It;s so unhealthy to hang on to something that is emotionally weighing you down. You did survive your past experiences and you can now learn to settle and regulate your anxiety efficiently. Also, because the fear will be about the past, there will only be so much left for you to experience. It is as if what is left over from the past is only a limited amount. Experiencing it, talking about it, making sense of it and integrating it will mean at some point it will all be gone and life will appear so much easier and much more enjoyable for you.

Internet Dating... Is Love the Answer?

Day after day people ask..."Can you really find love on the Internet?" In a recent study, millions of people said that they believe you can. Have we made it easier for one to find love with out having to leave our house? Sure they have...They want to reduce the search to the click of a mouse and discover lifelong bliss. In the real world, however, it’s not that easy to find love. In fact, if it was we'd all be on the internet and bar, clubs, and the frozen food section of your local grocery store would be shut down, non existent, because those were the place we once went looking for love...turns out they were all the wrong places. We have such high expectations for love that no person can ever meet them, yet we continue to find love.

So whats the plan Stan? Well, imagine if you will that your heart is like a lock. Only one key fits it perfectly. That key is in a persons love for you. His  love for you doesn't fit anyone else and his love for them doesn't fit you. There is no master key of love that fits everyone. He has an individual, special love for every single person. Human love is an incredible thing, the kind of gift that puts purpose in your life and happiness in your heart. Fame, fortune, power, and good looks are like trash compared to human love.

Love is what everyone wants but it is not necessary that everyone would get it. Some get their love very easily whereas some other people, who even after making a lot of effort, do not succeed in finding love. Probably the true reason is they do not how to recognise love. Their love might have been by their side, but they would have just not known how to know that for sure. We would break this entire process of finding love into two parts. First one would concentrate on how one should behave to attract the true love and the other one would be stressing on what should one look for in a person to know whether that person is in true love with you. Finding love can be a lot easier if you understand what you need to be happy.

If you want to find love you will have to have a positive approach to meeting people and have an open mind that there will be some one nice who will be able to meet all your needs in a companion and who will reciprocate your feeling too. Obviously those who approach you will be people who have read your profile and will know what to expect from you when they do communicate with you. So be prepared for someone who is looking for the qualities that you have and not someone who is going to find you totally different to what they want. Also, be prepared for those who are not exactly being totally honest on the internet to deceive you. It happens folks, it only take one bad apple to put a bad taste in your mouth, so move forward with caution, and take baby steps. There's no rush is there?

Remember, you will have some options to choose from and need not be in a hurry to make up your mind. You can chat and then shortlist some and finally meet up and decide whether this is what you were looking for. The good thing is that you can go about all this while taking your time and need not have any feelings of regret or commitment until you want to do so.

Look for love...it might be right around the corner, or even on the next page of matches chosen for you, where ever it may be, be prepared to find love and when you do, know that it is special. There is hope for everyone to get that perfect someone that they have been searching for. The online sites are designed to give people so much more room to decide from and with this almost unlimited choice it should not be difficult to find that one ideal match for yourself. There are a lot of people looking for love....but is love the answer? Many will say "You bet it is!" My advice, and it's coming from a non-professional; as my grandmother used to always say..."Follow Your Heart!"

Are Your Emotional Insecurities Holding You Back from Love?

Someone recently asked me....How do you find love when you have emotional insecurities? Can you get past these fragments that are holding you back from what could be a wonderful life? I've found that the very qualities we're most ashamed of, the ones we keep trying to reshape or hide, are in fact the key to finding real love, true happiness, and success in a relationship. Love my friend is a gift.

We all fear love to a certain degree because we know that it's so easy to get lost in the quest for self-improvement. News Flash....We're NOT PERFECT! It often seems quite impossible for the average Jane when every billboard we pass seduces us with the vision of a happier, more successful life.

I realized that the characteristics were the ones which frequently caused them the most suffering. That's what it's like when we try to understand our deepest struggles without honoring the gifts that fuel them. When we understand our lives through the lens of our gifts it's as if we step out from behind the tapestry and really see it for the first time. All of a sudden, things make sense. We see the real picture, the moving, human story of what matters most to us. We begin to understand that our biggest mistakes, our most self-sabotaging behaviors were simply convulsive, unskilled attempts to express the deepest parts of ourselves. We want to be loved yet we fear love. Love is not a game or something to be entered into lightly.
Whoever came up with the idea that love is a game was nuts. Too many people mess with our hearts because they are insecure, and find love to be like a game....listen sweet cheeks, love is not a game. There is no designated winner or loser.

The idea that romance is a game - one where the player who best keeps his or her cool "wins" - is perpetuated by a self-help industry that makes billions from telling women that to be loved, they need to change the way they look, act, and feel. This industry preys on women's insecurities about being desirable by implying that they're not good enough as they are. And it tells women that when romance doesn't work out, it's because they did something wrong. Did they come on too strong? Did they reveal too much of themselves? Did they seem too needy or desperate? Did they step on the fragile male ego? Did they return his call too quickly? So what do we do ladies? we put on our "brave face." Guess what? Love couldn't care less about your brave face. It goes after what is incomparable and irreplaceable about you. It wants to penetrate the deepest recesses of your being. It wants to know what makes you tick and why.

My grandmother once made a statement that really stuck in my head; She said "If you never let yourself fall freely, you won't get anywhere near authentic love." The more you bury your singular spirit under some self-help game, the more difficult you make it for love to find you. And, if a woman needs to play games to hold a man's interest, chances are he's not the right man for her. The trouble with the games of romance is that eventually the mask will have to come off. The moral of this story is; Don't hide behind self doubt and insecurities. Learn how to overcome them.

How to Make your Favorite 'LBD' look like a Dozen beautiful dresses!

If we ask any woman about their favorite party outfit, the answer would surely be a little black dress. Every woman should have at least 2 or 3 tucked away in their closet. There are reasons galore for needing this as an important part of your wardrobe. The most obvious being, it definitely flatters the figure and gives the slimming effect which everyone would agree. You can multitask with it which means it can be worn at work with a formal jacket and then changed as party wear for evening or even on a casual hang out with friends. Though it provides one with a slimming effect it is imperative that your little black dress has a perfect fit, good quality and a timeless style. This would ensure making you look sophisticated as well as sexy.

Now it can get boring sometimes to wear the little black dress for many occasions. But rest be assured, there are ways and means to bring your dull outfit to glory. It can be dressed up for parties, weddings or be dressed down for funeral, formal meetings etc. So now that you have the dress, what else do you need? 3 things and you are golden! I've listed them below. By using a variety of accessories, you can take the same dress or two and make them look like a dozen different dresses throughout the year. With economy as it is and everyone on a tight budget, this makes dressing up your party dress fun and at a cost that won't break the bank!

Jewelry
It is the most important means to give a new look to your little black dress. I love getting creative, just don't go overboard though...keep it simple! Eye catching necklace or earrings ranging from delicate pearls to diamonds or even chunky heavy jewelry and bangles complement the little black dress without any ado. It also shows your flair for style. Depending on the occasion, the jewelry can be selected. Even something as simple as a brooch gives it that special look for any trendy occasion. Remember, you want to look classy.

Shoes
You can change the look by experimenting with shoes which can make your little black dress look completely different. Personally, I love to rock a LBD with Jimmy Choo shoes! Ranging from high heeled stilettos which go remarkably well with little black dress, to a simple pair of black pumps also suit the outfit. As black shoes would be boring and predictable on black outfit, going colorful would be a better idea. It will also give that much needed contrast to the outfit. Whatever the style or designer you choose, just remember to keep it eye catching to your peers. Don't go all overboard and wear shoes with too big of heels and leopard skin or something worse yet. Simple is best, I recommend a solid color or a black and white mix.

Bags & Belts
Accessorizing with the right clutch or handbag will definitely add to the glamour factor. I don't have a preference on name brand bags and belts as so many designers make a beautiful variety of them. When you mix and match bags and belts you create a number of looks that will attribute to the beauty of the LBD and if you do it up right, you'll stand out. Either a simple or fashionable clutch with array of colors goes well with the black outfit. The shoes and bag can be matched or at least complement each other which would definitely make the whole look striking in totality. Similarly belts give that much needed emphasis and diversion from the black dress. It also can help in changing the look of the dress. Depending upon your body structure the belt can help in hiding the flaws and enhancing the assets.

Birthday...A Celebration of Life

What is a birthday? It’s a celebration of your life... You are marking the amazing event of you coming into this world. That's worth celebrating no matter how old you are.  Many people believe that every person is a miracle.  Birthdays are a nice way to celebrate this miracle. Somehow time seems to creep up on us so quickly and year after year we age gracefully, well,...at least I do. Is it just me or do we all tend to take birthdays pretty much for granted? When it is someone's birthday we often celebrate with cake and ice cream or  have a birthday party for them, with a cake and presents and sing everyone sings "Happy Birthday To You!" Do we really know when did the custom of celebrating one's date of birth start to become important?

Birthdays are a public declaration of a new phase in your life. From childhood to adulthood, every time we reach one of the milestones, the expected behavior from that individual changes. With age comes new roles and norms. These changes include how to behave in public, how to dress, and  how to talk.  How many times have you heard someone say, “Isn’t she is too old to wear that?”

Truth be told, our birthdays are simply a validation of identity and existence.  Directly or indirectly, we evaluate ourselves against our life plan.  How many times have you said to yourself, “At this age I will be married” or “at this age I will be ready for retirement”.  Birthdays make us think, who are we? and where am I in my life?
Ahhhh now your talking....lets discuss the gifts. What woman doesn't like getting presents and surprises? Isn't that enough of a  reason to celebrate birthdays right there? Adults, I believe, like to celebrate birthdays because we look at our birthday as "our big day." Dinner out, a small gift or two, a generally good day at work (maybe with a cake or other goodies provided by co-workers), and we're pretty happy. As we get older (as I am rapidly doing!) it's nice to acknowledge that we made another "trip around the sun" without anything major falling off!

As we grow older gracefully, there is no way to deny that gravity begins to set in, we remember that we are not as young as we used to be...but we sure do like to continue acting like it don't we? Sure we make mistakes, but I've learned from mine, and with age as my grandmother used to say comes wisdom. What am I doing for my birthday? I'm having dinner with my parents, someething that I've not had the opportunity to do in 28 year because I've been living out of state with my children.

Although this day (January 18) will be most special for me, my heart will be sad without my kids at my side. For me you see, this is the first year that I've not been around them on my special day to celebrate. On this day as I grow older and more mature, I look at how I have grown from a single mother raising two children solo to becoming independent and a business owner. I still making mistakes, but I learn as I go that life isn't about perfection, it's about the values and morals that we learned at younger ages that followed us throughout the years and carried us through to this time in our life where we can look at our children, and reflect upon just how well we were raised and with such love.

When we are young we cannot wait until we get older, and when we grow old we find ourselves looking back at our past and wondering how time slipped by so quickly? I have been so blessed with wonderful friends and a loving family and I could not be happier. Does age matter? No. You are as young as you feel. Do I feel any older turning 48 than I did turning 30? Nope. Few more wrinkles, and a couple extra pounds, but today I am cancer free, sassy, spunky and at times a real ball of fire...I wake up each and everyday thankful that I am alive and breathing and able to enjoy the simple things in life. I still have my sense of humor...most all of my teeth and no gray hair. I'd say that has to count for something? Age doesn't make me fearful, it make me realize every 365 days that the good Lord has kept me here another year for a reason and I intend to make the best of it.
