A Real Life Cinderella Story....

Some might say that a new pair of shoes is all that you need to feel like a true Cinderella...some say that  there is no such thing as love at first sight, or paths crossing at the right time. I beg to differ. I believe that fate is something that no one can predict. I believe that things happen for a reason, and that two people meet because they are supposed to. We read fairy tales and hear stories about true love such as Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, and others... but how often do you hear of stories in real life that make the hair on the back of your neck stand up because it is such a magical story?

Today I was working my part time gig at a well known candle company. It was our Halloween Preview Party and I got to play the role of the Fairy Godmother. Each year the stores choose what they are going to dress up as and after last year when we were all superheroes we decided on Disney Princesses! They young ladies that I work with make my job exciting and fun! I love people and I love the chit-chat. I make more new friends and people would tell you that I am a social butterfly.

To those who do not know me, they will generally ask me what I do and what it is that I love?
Besides running my two online lingerie businesses, this job at the candle store allows me to mingle with guests, share product knowledge, sell, sell, sell, and learn about my customers on a personal level. Every now and again I hear a story that I absolutely must share.

Today a woman walked in chuckling because I was dressed up in costume. She looked at me and said "Ok, I'll bite, whats the deal with the costumes?" I explained that today was our Halloween Preview Party and that we were all Disney Princesses as I pointed out Snow White, Cinderella, Princess Jasmine, and Ariel (The Little Mermaid.)  I told her that I was the Fairy Godmother and asked if I could Bibbity-Bobbity-Boo her a fairy tale come true such as sending her a prince charming? She looked at me and laughed and said 'Boy do I have a story for you, and you bet you can work your magic on me!'

When this woman was 18 she took a trip to Mexico. Her flight was delayed and she ended up missing this flight and having to find another one. On this particular flight she found her seat and as she was putting her things in the overhead when a very handsome man behind her smiled at her. She was intrigued by him immediately. They ended up talking on the plane and spending time together in Mexico. After that they kept in touch and dated long distance for over 2 years. He proposed! She said YES! Then a few weeks before the wedding she got cold feet and backed out leaving him heart broken and alone. She was afraid to move so far away as he was from Mexico.

A few weeks ago this woman was on Facebook and happened to find this gentleman's sister, was it a fluke? She immediately sent a friend request and the woman accepted it. She then asked how this man was after 30+ years? It turns out that he had married and then divorced. This woman was married and now divorced too! They both lived separate lives and had families of their own. This man though after all these years still thought about this woman. His sister invited this woman to Mexico to a family wedding where she is going to fly to see her prince after 30 years to see if they can reconnect. She asked me if I believed in second chances? I say YES! I believe in destiny and fate. She was in tears talking about this and I stood there with my mouth wide open in an intense conversation with her. I begged her to come back into the store in October and share with me how the trip goes?

The moral of the story is this; dreams do come true. Fairy tales are our own realities, and life is short so if you are lucky enough to find love, chase it, follow it and grab hold of it! We all have a little Cinderella inside of us and there is a fairy godmother called 'fate' watching over us! My grandmother used to say that patience is a virtue and that you'll find true love when you are least expecting it. It's all about believing....and finding someone, like a pair of shoes that is the perfect fit!

What Do the Shoes Have To Do With Cinderella?

We all want the dream, but reality says it doesn't always happen. Based on this fairy tale, Cinderella is a great example for young girls to follow. In view of hard times, even with those bitchy step sisters, she is still able to be positive. She is hard working and even when others mistreat her, she holds her head high and doesn't attack them back, she is a true lady. She is her own person and has her strengths and her weaknesses. heck, she even has the right mind to be on time for a curfew, even if she is dancing the night away with the handsome prince. Somewhere hidden in the childhood of every person are fairy tales, and every woman wants the fairy tale ending...

It’s been what seems like an eternity since Cinderella put on that glass slipper and went out in search of her prince. Realistically, modern women started to wonder if the glass slipper was half-empty or half-full. Excuse me BUT...have you seen the shoes girls wear today? They are nothing at all like I ever wore. Back in the day brand names meant nothing. Now if you aren't wearing Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Gucci, Kate Spade, Prada, Jimmy Choo (btw, my favorite) or Christian Louboutin some women look down upon you. Excuse me folks, but last time I watched Cinderella she had on old dirty flats.

It wasn't until her fairy godmother came around using her 'bibbity bobbity boo' that her feet got so glamorous...without that stoke of magic, she would have never worn those glass slippers. These stilettos that I speak about are strutting shoes; made to last, made to dance the night away and give you 5 extra inches of confidence so you can look anyone in the eye and assert authority. They often come in colors that scream “Look at me!” and, with a toned leg/short-skirt combo, they make a room-stopping entrance.Often, they are simple classic black stilettos, so you can both show ‘em what you're made of and then turn him on all in one night..and guess what? They don't have to be expensive. They are a woman’s best ally: a weapon both inside and out of the bedroom. Like finding a good man, you should choose your shoe wisely.

In comparison, (my personal comparison) Men are like running shoes...Comforting, supportive, ready to go that extra mile. They intensify and give you energy, they adhere to you and keep you safe, and will always hold us up when we feel when we're about to fall. "Running is the greatest metaphor for life, because you get out of it what you put into it."  Is that not what a relationship is? How does your shoe fit?

What is going to happen when this modern day woman takes off her sexy strutting shoes at the end of the night and all she has are sore feet with no one to rub them? We don’t have a stroke of midnight curfew. Instead, there are times when we come home from another long day stand feeling worthlessly “empowered” (with BOTH shoes on) and no hope of Prince Charming returning a shoe to us. We all see the fairy tales rise and fall around us. Today, people are more shocked by the mythical “happy loving couple” than the ones with the drama and infidelity. Every day, relationships are becoming obsolete...but that does not mean that you should give up. As a hopeless romantic, I truly believe that still with all the BS you hear, there is a prince for everyone.

Before you consider buying one more pair of expensive killer stiletto designer shoes, an outfit guaranteed “to turn his head” and a bottle of wine for that “get over him” party with your girlfriends, get out there and get your feet wet! My prince charming obviously took a wrong turn and got lost somewhere in that dark forest. Don't let waiting for that one man stop you. Live your life. My grandmother used to say that love finds you when you least expect it to. Soooo, how do you get started? Well, geez, even Cinderella had a plan, and you should too!

The Plan: If you did everything right up to this point you should both be planning a night out. Truth is if women and men did everything right I wouldn’t be writing this, but let’s just assume, shall we? Here is where it sometimes goes wrong... Guys- you ask a woman, “So what do you like to do?” Most of the time her response starts with, “I don’t know” and is followed by a list of cliché first date ideas. At this point most men will dim their creative side and go into standard mode. It’s true! Girlfriend...you just sent the message that you are a common woman who desires common dates. That’s exactly what you will get. Why not share your interests, he might enjoy them. Tell him your favorite places and things to do. It helps!

Remember, it is your personality and your character that win the end define you, so just be yourself. Be open and be honest. If he doesn't like that, he is not your prince charming. And fellas...contrary to popular belief, don’t expect women to put out because you took us out. Cinderella and her Prince Charming did not engage in premarital sex. Interesting concept! But why do modern day Cinderellas feel like sex is the only way to catch a man’s attention? DO NOT use sex to try to control him.One thing I have learned over the years is, that you can’t use sex to keep a man!  If he’s into you, he’s into you. Some men keep certain woman around only for the sex but that’s where it begins and ends. Cinderella was a lady...and you should be too! Sure we all hold that fairy tale within, and who doesn't want that 'glass slipper' but at any age, we all still must live, laugh and love the little girl in us regardless of the make of the shoe...in reality YOU make your own magic!

Mr. Right, Right Now?

Just a small town girl, living in a lonely world.......Took the midnight train, boat, ferry, plane, or rental car..... going anywhere, because she wanted to see the world.....So where does one begin?.....

Every now and then, we are fortunate enough to have someone come into our lives when we least expect them to and set us back, I mean they really knock our socks off, and....they throw a monkey wrench right into our perfect plans that we had mapped out for months, if not longer and within a matter of months, we find ourselves looking at our life/lifestyles in an entirely new perspective.

I consider myself a very friendly, outgoing and most content woman.....but a woman who was on a designated mission to move closer to home to a city where she was born because it wasn't at all a big city and she wouldn't get lost in the hustle and bustle there, rather, she'd run her businesses, look after her family and enjoy life building her small empire with no distractions. Time on her hands to visit shipping companies and warehouses, meet with new and some current manufactures, line up new partnerships with boutiques and small businesses, and hire staff that would allow her company to expand at a rate that she had planned almost to the "T" ........Well,  that was the plan a few months ago......but always on the "back burner".....somehow, she never stopped believing.....that one day when she wasn't looking, something grander would happen to her that would be so unforgettable.....so change of life factor....but what?

Last fall, while visiting with her parents and discussing old times on an old street, the neighborhood she grew up in, she started bringing up friends and old neighbors from her past and wondering "where are they now?" She quickly got onto Face Book and began typing in names and sure enough she found so many old friends that she attended school with, friends that lived there and moved away, and even a few people that she babysat for long, long ago......

How great could the odds be to meet a man who was searching for everything that you were? Perhaps this someone was divorced for the past several years and had never really experienced the kind of true love from fairy tales, those same fairy tales that this particular Cinderella believed in and had also hoped for as long as she could remember?

My grandmother always used to say "Things happen when you least expect them to" and ......."Don't look a gift horse in the mouth!".....so we won't. Two paths are about to meet head on shortly and although this woman bubbling with such anticipation and happiness, who is so "not" used to having her world jolted and her bubble burst, is terrified that once again, that this too shall pass and an opportunity will be lost.......what? She wants to feel weak in the knees! That guard wall  that she build so high around her was beginning to crumble down, all because of one man. Those barriers that were formed to protect her heart were now nothing more than jello walls waiting to endure this next chapter in her life where she comes home to not only her prince, but to her far away castle in a kingdom of hope,.... where dreams and fairy tales really do come true!

Did this gal wait most all of her life to find that one man who could make her dreams come true, who could care for her and respect her, could make her laugh and cry (good tears) do silly things, allow her to be herself, moonwalk in public (well maybe not really in public,) march to the beat of her own drum, and eventually  if all circumstances fell into place maybe, just maybe...... find love?

You bet she could, because that stubborn, sassy, sensual, soft spoken lady always held out hoping that somewhere out there he would be.....Well stranger things have happened. Some will say that you have better chances of being struck by lightening vs find true love? If there is a risk to take, finding love or getting struck by lightening, I'll hold out a metal rod to hoping to attract my Mr Right. Yes, life is all about taking chances! If you don't try or you don't seek from time to time, someone else might find the man of "your" dreams. Although I still believe in paths crossing for reasons, at this stage of my life, I wouldn't think twice about tripping him and bringing him to his knees to make him see what a catch I am! A girls got to do what a girls got to do!

Journey said it best....."Don't stop... believin' hold on to that feeling...."

Find the Perfect Fit!

On the contrary to what many define a modern day princess....I am your not so typical Cinderella type seeking her Prince....I am a hard worker, and a dedicated woman who generally puts the needs of others before my own true happiness. Anyone who knows me, truly knows me...will agree. So what is it that I seek? Well, would it be too improbable to state that I want a man who can "show me the magic!" Unlike so many women, I'm "not" searching for a man with deep pockets, ultimately it's not the monetary value I'm after. What I'm in search of is true chemistry and companionship. Sure I want the refined fairy tale....but without all of the red tape. My glass slipper can only be found on high end avenues, or so I thought...then I met this guy...

My "wishes" - have always been to find a genuine man I can communicate with, share laughs. Where is the man who can't wait to see me at the end of the day and the one who is thrilled to see me when he awakens? A man who can understand me well enough to read me like a book, who can look deep into my eyes and read my thoughts, to finish my sentences. I want many things that most women seek and desire, however, I won't settle, nor should you ladies.... I wish to be courted because I am old fashion in many ways and I want a true gentleman. ladies...I demand respect, and you should too. A life full of joy, happiness and everlasting love....isn't that all that women really want?

While some call me a mystery, others call me a real handful. Like the gameboard I can be TROUBLE! That be as it may, my character has been defined as both sexy and sensual. I'm confident, classy, educated, sexy, witty, charming, spunky. Insistent, persistent, intriguing, enthusiastic, influential, independent, skeptical, well rounded, not at all easily intimidated. My unprofessional advice for you? Find what defines you, and explore your possibilities. Beware of the man with the fast tongue and empty promises. If you believe this is love, you must have fallen off the turnip truck too hard and smacked your nugget on the pavement.

What took me years to learn, but I understand now...and that is that you can have the best of both worlds. When you find your missing piece to the puzzle, finally everything connects, and your life changes for the better, simply because he is in it. Don't stop searching ladies until you find the right one,  be a true connoisseur of romance in search of her one in a million. We have various intimate pieces at our online boutique suitable for any type of Cinderella. Affordable prices can be found at  Simply Delicious Lingerie.

I've learned throughout life's difficult lessons to be true to yourself because your words and your actions speak loud and first impressions are everything. On the contrary to what so many may think,...I don't seek glitter and glamour, rather a simple lifestyle made for two people that are happy just being who they are....I wait for that one man who will sweep me off my feet, and make all of my dreams come true......Never give up, he's out there.....and the thing is....he has probably been waiting a life time to meet you! Search for your perfect fit, your glass slipper, whatever the brand or type may be.....
