Man of Your Dreams... or "Just a Friend?"

This isn't a an article about good guys/bad guys. Oh no, not at all...It's about knowing what type of men you are attracting, variety of ways, and the why's? This is about women who  can spot a “guy friend” at 100 yards away! Trust me on this one.... you don’t want to be thrown in the friend bin - yet again! Certainly, good friend characteristics are similar to good boyfriend characteristics. These are: honesty, integrity, loyalty, respect, “being there” for her, attentiveness and reliability. Here’s the thing – those are also characteristics of a good dog. So, what you need is to have those, plus boyfriend characteristics that add to what you’re offering. You can overdo it with all those wonderful traits and end up seeming, again, like a trusted friend, but nothing else.

OK, so now let’s look at how women decide what makes a good friend, and what makes a good boyfriend. We’ve already talked about what we’ll now refer to as “dog traits.” That’s not meant to downplay the value of those characteristics at all. They’re extremely valuable in life. But we need to find out what you must add (or even take away) to get on the potential boyfriend list. One the one hand, a woman doesn’t necessarily want a guy who has had a long list of romances and seems to move from one woman to the next as if there’s a production line.
On the other hand, if she knows you’ve been single forever, she’ll take that as a huge warning sign in neon. But what if you have been single forever? This might be a bit underhanded, and honesty is a very good thing, but you might want to find a way to keep from having that particular truth advertised without lying about it.

You can say that it’s been awhile. You can say that you took some time after your last break-up to find out what was really important in life. You can say that while you do want to share your life with someone, you felt it was important to take time to be alone after your last break-up. However, telling a woman you’ve never had a date will make you sound desperate, insecure, and you’ll most likely end up on the good friend list. Here’s another thing that will get you on the best friends forever list, but will ban you from the boyfriends list: sharing your own “must-have” list for the woman of your dreams.

If you care about ever getting a quality date, or a wife, keep your list to yourself because whoever you end up with is most likely not going to have all those things, all those characteristics and traits,...and she’s not going to be happy knowing that while you and she are having dinner, you’re going through your checklist to size up her shortcomings! No sir!

Women want to be accepted for who they are. Yes, there are always things that you would like to be different about her. Her hair, her boob size, her ass, her thighs, her nose, her weight, etc., but...There are things she’d change about you, too. Women aren’t without lists. But smart daters keeps it to themselves. We’ve already talked a little about desperation. There’s no place for it in dating and romance. Sometimes, it’s hard not to feel desperate, but you’re going to have to put that aside fellas. If you ask a woman out and she refuses, accept it and move on. Don’t ask her why and don’t keep bugging her. Be gracious about the refusal and start looking for someone else to ask out. Hey,...So if you pester and demand to know why, you’re going to look desperate. If you just move on, you’re doing yourself a super huge favor. She may even find you suddenly a bit more attractive if you don’t get all devastated about her rejection. That's right, walk away like you don't care.

Guilty Pleasures...

Step away from the chocolates...Watching what we eat has been a way of life for as long as I can remember...What to eat, when to eat, how many calories, how much fat...how much sodium...how much is too much? There so many things to take into account...but tell me please, how do you concentrate on these things when your body is telling you that it is HUNGRY? Everyone has experienced the occasional self-indulgent binge; it’s part of life. Is giving in to your cravings causing you to gain unwanted weight and/or preventing you from losing the weight you want to shed? This happens to me all the time. The harder you try to watch what you eat and be careful, the more difficult it is to see the pounds come off. This article will examine the nature of cravings and empower you with knowledge and tools that have an adverse effect sabotaging  on your weight.

Although our human compulsion to eat is at first purely instinctive, many of the signals we use to identify hunger we learn and develop over time, based on the influences of our circumstances and the other people around us. Some purely are just bad habits. Unlike how it was for our ancient, forest-dwelling ancestors, in modern civilization we have access to food around the clock, every day. Put that together with these misleading signals of ours and we find it dreadfully easy to succumb to the desire to eat, even though our body doesn’t require any additional calories or nutrients at that time. We eat because we think we are hungry, and in turn, we gain weight. For women, our hormones are up and down and our appetites can go nuts! For many women their menstrual cycle causes cravings. I can go from sweets to salt in a matter of minutes, whereas any other time of the month I would not think of mixing the two.

In many regards, there is very little that distinguishes compulsive overeating from other forms of substance abuse, and from addictive behavior in general. As with substance abuse and generally addictive behavior, stress, boredom, disappointment, anxiety, loneliness, insecurity, depression, and other negative emotional states all crave relief in some way. Beyond drugs and alcohol, one of the other ways many people have found to assuage those ill feeling and find the relief they crave is through the comfort of certain foods, or even simply through the comfort provided by very the act of eating.

The ruthlessness of this response to stress is that, usually, giving in to the craving results in the person feeling worse, not better, heaping guilt and shame atop whatever negative feelings they were already experiencing to begin with. As with all known forms of addictive behavior, there may often be a “trigger”, or an event that provokes the craving. Listen to your cravings closely, and not only because, in part, many times those cravings will be displaced desires for some form of mental or emotional fulfillment. Listen to them also in part because every once in a while, a craving is an honest-to-goodness cue from your body that a particular nutrient is lacking at that moment and sorely needed. When you have a craving that you may consider absurd (in other words, for something other than fats and sugars), consider that your body may be telling you that it needs some nutrient which that food contains.

Remove temptations. That's right...get rid of those things that tease your taste buds. Go through your refrigerator and food pantry. Get rid of the cakes, ice cream, cookies, etc. When you go food shopping, make a conscious effort not to buy sweets. A good habit to get into is to take a walk instead of eating dessert. If, after 10 minutes, you still want sweets, gargle with an antiseptic mouth wash or brush your teeth. The aftertaste doesn't mix well with sweets and you'll probably lose your craving quickly.

Increase your protein intake. Often our bodies will exhibit cravings for sweets when what they really need is more protein.
  • Eat more protein and fat, both of which make you feel full and satisfied.
  • Have small, frequent meals to help keep your blood sugar level stable and eliminate your body's need for a quick sugar fix. Avoid skipping meals (especially breakfast).
  • Take a daily multivitamin. Some nutrients help keep blood sugar stable, so ensure you get those by supplementing your diet appropriately.
  • Feed your body fruits and veggies...carrot sticks, celery, cut up an apple, make a salad.
  • Eat yogurt and granola bars

Replace sweets and sugar with healthy fruits. The sugars in fruits are digested differently than the empty calories of white sugar that are in most candy and processed foods. The fiber in fruit also slows the absorption of the sugars so you don't get as high a sugar rush (and as low a crash).

Read labels. You might be very surprised to learn how much sugar there is in a lot of the foods that you eat. Being aware of sugar content can help you avoid high-sugar foods and kick the addiction.
Stay away from the naughty foods...and lose the guilty look, instead substitute the bad foods, you know, those guilty pleasures with healthy foods, fruits and veggies!

It's not easy to change your appetite...so take it slow! Some advice...
  • Don't set targets that you know you can't achieve. Take the process slowly and you'll see the results gradually - don't expect a quick fix.
  • Consult your doctor before starting a drastic diet change - even though it's for the better, your body needs to have a thorough check-over before you start!
  • Don't become obsessed with your weight
  • If you give into your craving don't give up - just keep persevering and eventually you will control your cravings!

First Impressions

There's an expression that says "you never get a second chance to make a first impression." This is especially true when it comes to dating. That impression will be formed on that first experience and, although that impression can be altered over time, that first impression is what they are going to remember.
The point is that we all form that first impression and we always remember it. That is why your dating manners need to be top notch!!

You only get one opportunity to make that first impression. That first date is the most important opportunity. So, we're going to offer you a few special tips for your first date. You should know the proper dating etiquette. You may not know this but there are some basic principles you should know so that you'll have healthy dating experiences. No one taught me these tips. They'll help make a great impression......Remember, relax, be yourself, no phony bologna! No one wants that. Most people want to see the "real deal!"

The expected behavior of men and women are different when it comes to dating. So, we want to make sure that the guys and gals are prepared. What are the dating rules? We're about to discuss a few....that way, you will always know what you should be doing on a date as well as what to expect from the person you are dating. It seems like one of the hardest things to do on a first date is to find something in common so that you have something to talk about. There is nothing more uncomfortable than a first date with boring conversation where there is too much silence. Allow me to rescue you from this tragedy with ideas for first dating discussions.

Impressing someone on a date is not always what you say and how you act. The impression you give is also based on how you look. We'll provide you with tips for dating fashion etiquette. Let the way you look speak volumes about the type of person you are by outfitting yourself in the best clothing and dress possible.  Confidence speaks volume! Show him/her that that you have confidence in yourself and the determination to be at your best....that's all that you'll need.

How you look is also part of dating etiquette. You want to shine.....remember, there are men and women everywhere and you are replaceable. No need to look like a freak show,.....that's a turn off...Don't wear a lot of make up. If you do, perhaps cut back a little. My grandmother always used to say that a man should see the same woman that he spends all day with when he awakens....this means, you should look the same (appearance wise...) in the morning when you roll out of bed as you do most of the day. If you wear 5 layers of make up, you're covering up your true beauty and you certainly won't look the same when you wake up until you put your face back on. How can you possibly shine under all of that make-up? Show him the real you! As much as some of you don't want to hear this.....guys dig the girl next door look. Go simple, elegant and stunning......straight cut dress....scoop next but not too low, enough to show your curves...remember, you want him to notice and remember you, not the boobs and ass,.....Yes, he'll notice and he'll see a vision of true beauty. You want to be the last thing he thinks about before he closes his eyes, and the first thought in his head when he awakens. You want to get in his head, and above all, in his heart!

Speak with volume, stick with professional topics, never go religion or politics on a first or second date unless you are prepared to possibly see fireworks, and I don't mean the enjoyable ones. Shit is going to hitteth the fan if your selection in topics clash, especially topics as such. Here's the safe zone subjects; You can ask about their career, their family and by all means, talk about the news, I mean CNN News not E-News!...Know your current events! Beauty and brains are quite the package and such a turn on to a man. Talk about yourself so that he gets a better understanding of who you are, only then will he begin to understand your likes and dislikes, in reality, this all takes time.....Always ask her/him a variety of questions to keep the conversation flowing....Get a good feel for her/him, and if you make it through the first date, your second one will be a lot less stressful! Trust your instincts.
