Flannel PJs and Why They Just Aren't Cool For You Married Gals...

I could make each day fun just writing blogs about friends and coworkers.  Our topics and discussions while we spend hours together vary and regardless of our ages we all manage to laugh and work leaving the store having enjoying the humor shared by women of a variety of ages. We are always all in tune with the subject line, and whether comments come from someone who is 18 , 48, or 49...we all agree that it's difficult being a woman with such demands  that society has on us. This blog about someone I work with that goes home each night and by 6:00 PM she admitted that she is comfortable, warm and toasty in her flannel PJs and a big night shirt. She knows who she is, and we laugh at work when we talk about blogs and fashion. These women are all inspirations to me. We all laugh knowing our styles and tastes in clothes/fashion are a bit different and that we all go home and put on something goofy that we are sporting comfy in, and that's all right...it's not the pjs that make the woman! One might say that flannel pjs are just 'not cool' for the married gal.

Today my blog is about my friend/coworker... and this nightmare of a Fashion No-No! Owning a lingerie boutique or two, it makes my life dreamy and fun when I get to assist my friends in finding something super sexy for them to wear for their boyfriends or husbands. For me, this is 100% totally fun. Although flannel keeps us cozy and warm when it's cold, I still respect her, but ...Good Lord, I vow to assist her by making her look more seductive for her husband that includes something tantalizing and tempting!? Yes? Of course...and so I did. I turned her bedroom attire from frumpy to foxy! 

Although we all know and understand that flannel PJs are quite versatile, warmth is a key benefit that makes flannel material so pervasive. I am not knocking flannels whatsoever...There are some problems associated with flannel pajamas, however. Soooo not sexy, and did you know that they are totally flammable. Hello? Turning up the bedroom heat is one thing but that's getting a little extreme. Let me say this again...Flannels are SO NOT SEXY! 

So what is sexy? For those of you who don't know the difference from one piece of lingerie to another; let me enlighten you; 

Babydolls

If you want to look like super mom, super sexy and all after a long day of work and a house that seems like it will never get clean...throw this on and light up his night! A very popular piece of sleepwear...the babydoll.... A short top the babydoll is usually teamed up with a thong or panties, making for very sexy sleepwear. Camisoles and Panties

While the camisoles are usually thought of as a daytime fashion accessory, when paired with boy shorts (my favorite) or  a thong, they are a sexy addition to the bedroom. This pajama style is both flirty and feminine. Just like their publicly worn counterpart, bedtime camisoles are made from semi-sheer and lightweight materials. For this sleepwear style, mix and match is probably the rule rather than the exception. Pairing any camisole top with any type of bottom creates a very sexy outfit, and generally that you won't keep on for long if your spouse/lover/or partner has anything to do with it!

Chemises

The first word used to describe underwear garments was "chemise." Originally, a chemise was a loose, one-piece undergarment worn as protection from the rough outer garment. Many chemises also included padding for warmth, comfort, or to meet the fashion-standard of the day. The chemise as we know it is a short A-line nightgown that reaches about mid-thigh. Picking Out Panties...

Every day the question is raised...How can it be so hard to pick out panties? Are you kidding me? To those of you who don't have to wear them most or all of the day I say to you...Really? 

On the contrary to what so many of you think, picking out the panties that will hug your delicates all day is not at all easy, so when you shop for panties, it isn't something that you'll do in a matter of a few minutes. It really isn’t as easy as you would think. Some like a little support. Some like cotton. Some want satin or lace. Some would prefer the thong to boy shorts. I favor both. Nonetheless, it just depends on you, and what you are wearing of course because no woman should EVER be seen with panty lines…NOT EVER! Some call them panties, others may call them bloomers, knickers, or undergarments.

There are so many styles and fabrics to choose from that it truly depend on what you like and what you need. The most important thing to know is what size you are. Just because you fit into a specific pant size does not mean that your panties are the same. You have to wear the right pair of panties or you will truly suffer through your day. If you wear the wrong pair, you will absolutely suffer through your day and not be happy at all. There is much to be less than desired when your panties are riding up and chafing you all day. There is nothing worse and unappealing than panties that are constantly falling down or give you that awful wedgie. This can be very distracting to your day, not to mention a negative attention getter. This can all be so easily avoided by fitting your self with the appropriate sized panties form the beginning.

Therefore, ladies grab a tape measure because you will need it. You will want to measure your waist first. You will want to have the tape measure snugly around you waist without causing any bulging. Don’t cause any cinching that could cause you to go too small. You will want to use the natural indentation and/or break at your hip and waist. If you are having a hard time finding this curve, then bend to the side. You will better be able to see where this crease is and know where to measure. You will want to write this number down and mark it as you waist measurement. This will become very important depending on what type of panty you are buying. Some panties are hip huggers while others have elastic on the waistline. It truly all depends on the style you buy and what you find most appealing on you and comfortable. You will not want to buy a pair of hip huggers that use your waist size. This will cause that not appealing bulge that many women get around their mid section. If you are going to use a waist binding panty then make sure that is what is.

The next step is to measure your hips appropriately. How do you do it? Wrap that tape measurer around your hips in their fullest area....no cheating or you'll be VERY uncomfortable in your panties all day. To make sure that the tape measure is straight, so you might need to use a mirror or get a friend to help you. It is very important to make sure the tape measurer is level all the way around your whole body for the proper fit. The tape measurer must be parallel with the floor and snug. Again you don’t want so snug that it causes bulges. You will also write this down to make sure that you know what size to buy. This will help with hip huggers, bikinis, many thongs, and/or string bikinis. One example is if your waist measures at a 28 and your hips are at a 37, then your panty size will be a size 6 or size medium depending on the style. Usually sizes such as small, medium, and large have two to three number sizes in them. Therefore, if you wear a 5, 6, or 7, then you also wear a medium. Remember that a 5, 6, or 7 doesn’t mean your regular pant size this is exclusive to panty size.If your body is proportioned like mine is, crazyyyy, and your booty is a bit bigger...you'll need a larger size.

Lets go over why the fitting point of panties is so damn crucial to their comfort;

 There are must haves in any panty you choose to wear. The most important thing is a comfortable crotch. Panties, panties and more panties...With so many styles of underwear out there today it is very easy to get confused at what is in and what is not the right choice to wear. At this point, who knows anymore if underwear is supposed to be comfortable, sexy, functional, or some happy combination of them all. Personally, I find that I love sexy lingerie and all of my bras and panties match, as they should, nonetheless, there are times and I think every woman reading this can agree to that at times we like to just feel cozy and comfy and say screw the sexy part of it all...hey, not everyday, but maybe just one or two days a month. Men love panties! They like certain styles on their lady. Men find women alluring and sexy when she runs around in his polo button down and a little pair of boy shorts. You'll have them melting gals!

Most women find they have several types of underwear in their draw for every possible need and occasion. Depending on who you are, you may not want anyone to see or know some of the underwear you actually have in there. Some days, sifting through your drawers for those particular panties can be a daunting task. It does not matter if you are looking for your favorite comfortable granny panties, your sexiest G-string, those sassy little boy cut panties, or those special panties for the monthly visitor. Figuring which ones to wear when and how to keep them organized to be able find them when needed is enough to give any normal woman a headache.  

So, how should you sort them out?

Might I suggest buying some dividers that will fit in your panty drawer? When you do you now will be ready to put those underwear where they belong and find them when you need to. Here are a few tips that can help you categorize your panty draw. 

G-strings and Thongs: These are those sexy little numbers that on most days will be the panty of choice for many women. There are some slight differences in how they are designed but they can live in the same space as each other happily. G-strings really have no crotch to them, no matter what others tell you. Yeah that's right, now crotch! This is dental floss with a frontal triangle attached. But man do they look hot and feel great. Thongs are the ones that actually have the crotch. Even though it is so narrow one wonders why it is there in the first place. 

Briefs and Bikinis: This underwear will be the other most commonly used items if you happen to not be a thong or G-string kind of lady. Your briefs are the full front, back, and side underwear also referred to as granny panties. They are comfortable and can be used all month long unlike many other styles of underwear. The briefs cousin, the bikini is just a shorter version of the brief. It has a lower waist and higher leg cut. These types of panties give the old granny panties a little flare. 

Boy Cut: My favorite! These are so cute that every woman has to have at least one pair, or ten.  They are so simple and comfortable it is not funny. The best part is that men find them irresistible. These underwear look like little mini shorts that show off the bottom of your butt cheeks. The great thing is these are sexy, comfortable, functional, and can be worn all month long! This is a style you just can’t go wrong with even if you tired. 

The ‘special’ monthly panties: These are just about any pair of panties that you can use during that one time of the month when your cycle comes to visit you. Usually these are the old, ragged underwear that you have collected through your lifetime that can no longer serve any other purpose. These are the ones that are all stained and tattered. You just cannot seem to get rid of them because they serve their function and keep all your other good underwear from a similar fate.

Now you have all your panties in there proper places. At this point you are now seeing some of your spaces have less underwear than others in them. More than likely you are now going to go out and fill up each area with its proper amount of panties in that particular style. Sometimes organization can backfire sometimes and cause a spontaneous shopping spree! This time be adventurous and buy something neat. Fill those gaps with different designs of the same cut instead of buying nine pairs of the exact same thing in different colors. Before long you will have so many panties again you will be lost. G-Strings? Are they a Pain in the Ass?

How many G-strings do you own? 1, 2, 5, 10? Many women out there think of G-strings as a real pain in ass. However, for most wearers, it is the exact opposite. Most women who wear a G-string love them and would never go back to bikinis and/or brief style. Why you ask? Simple...They're great for making sure that you have no visible panty lines, (which we all hate) with your sleekest of dresses and slacks. One might even argue that it is better to have a small piece of fabric up there than the whole backside of your favorite granny panties any day. 

With that being said, you need to know what types of G-strings are the best to wear as far as comfort go. If you know what styles there are out there and the difference between a thong and a G-string, then you will find the comfort level different then what you thought. You also need to be sure you are wearing the right size and what material the G-string is made of. If you wear a size large gals, please don't try to cram into a small... it's all about comfort here, not the size. Personally...I like to give women the 4-1-1 on all lingerie when I can, and believe me, you will get my honest opinion. Years ago I would have never thought of wearing G-strings or thongs...now, that's all that my lingerie drawer is filled with, along with boy shorts. Many women categorize thongs and G-strings in the same area and think they are just alike. A G-string is actually quite different than a thong. A thong has a thicker band and a crotch. This can be uncomfortable and chafing to many women. The thicker band can rub with normal daily movement and be quite painful at the end of the day. A G-string is a large triangle in front attached to a small triangle or other strings in the back by a very thin string of fabric. This line of fabric rests snugly yet comfortably along the perineal up the rear. It is actually not even noticeable if you are wearing the right size. The sides are also made of extremely thin bands that should be snug, yet not leave marks around the hips or waist. A G-sting has no crotch at all unlike its cousin the thong. So as one can see there is quite the difference between what a thong and a G-string are. 

The best thing about G-strings other than their invisibility under your cloths is that they are so comfortable they are almost like an addiction for women. There are V-backs, T-backs, and some that have a little triangle in the back. They can be worn with pants and skirts with the lowest of waistlines and you won’t have to worry about them showing. If you have what look like “stripper” panties, then you have the right kind. These are secure, breathable, and extremely comfortable. They stay dry, unlike cotton, and cause no irritation to your delicate parts. These are also machine washable, but hand dry them by laying them on a towel or hanging them. They can be put into a delicate wash cycle and you won’t have to worry about them losing their elasticity, form, or color. If you are the kind of gal who just loves cotton, then you need to be more careful what you get. Remember that cotton shrinks so buy a size bigger, then wash, and dry them on a high heat. You will want to check after to make sure they retained their shape and did not distort. Cotton also likes to hold in moisture and can be a bit uncomfortable by the end of the day for some ladies. It would be better to consider a cotton blend that has an elastic synthetic fabric woven into it. This will provide a drying effect and reduce the distortion that washing and drying cotton can have.
