Do You Know What Type of Bridal Gown is Best for your Shape?

When it comes to your wedding day, you want to look exquisite. With this being said, you should know that there are a variety of bridal gowns that accentuate your body just right. Not all of us have the same shape, some of us are short, some are tall, some weigh more, some weight less. With all eyes on you on your special day, you certainly do not want to be wearing a dress that draws attention to an area of your torso that you are trying to hide or that might make you feel a bit uncomfortable. Many brides do not understand who should wear what type of gown, and why each wedding dress is cut 'just so' with each individual bride in mind.

At Simply Delicious Lingerie and Bridal we take pride in catering to each of our customers. When it comes to your bridal needs, you can count on us to assist you in determining what is the most appropriate and which gown will flow on your figure the best.

There are a number of gowns to choose from and one might ask 'where in the world do I begin finding the perfect wedding dress for me?' Lets start with your build, frame type and weight. Each woman has her own idea of how she wants her perfect day to be, and each bride-to-be wants to look breathtaking on her wedding day because after all, it's all about the dress!

First we have the A-Line dress; I love this style! This gown is personally one of my favorites. It has a much fitted bodice throughout your waistline that flairs out a bit and flows to the ground. In retrospect, it has been said to resemble an uppercase letter "A." This type of dress is great and works on all body types.

The Ballroom Gown; I call this the Cinderella gown, others may call it the ball gown or a princess style dress. Why? It resembles that of a beautiful gown worn in a fairy tale. This dress flairs out at the waistline and has a full skirt. Although this is good for most body types the pear shape gal will find that it is the most appealing to the eye on her figure. I would not recommend it for a shorter woman who may be petite as this style may just be a tad bit overwhelming on her tiny frame.

The Mermaid Wedding Dress; This gown is for a slender type figure. It is sized and fitted on each individual body from a woman's chest to her knees. I highly recommend this for the woman with the hourglass figure who desires to show off her girlie figure! This is not recommended for women with the apple figure or plus size figure.

The Mini Wedding Dress; This is a beautiful dress and falls just about the knee. It's not recommended for plus size women. If you are planning on doing a whole lot of bending over at your wedding I would advise you not to choose this gown or your family and friends will be viewing England, France and a whole lot more!

The Trumpet Bridal Gown; This is an exquisite cut in my personal opinion. It falls somewhere between  the A-line cut dress and the mermaid gown. If you have a small waist, this may be the perfect bridal gown for you. The petite gal with an hourglass torso would be a great fit for this gown. I wouldn't recommend it for you pears and apples as it clings to the stomach and hips.

The Sheath Gown; Appealing is this beautiful gown as it flows straight down from the neckline to your toes. It is designed more so for the woman who carries a narrow and thin frame. If you are carrying around extra inches then this isn't the route to take for your wedding dress as it will truly accentuate the areas that you don't want seen.

The Tea-Length Bridal Gown; This is a great dress for women of all sizes. The skirt falls between the ankles and the knees. It is classy, elegant and stunning.
