Men are NOT All the Same!

Where ohhhhhh where is my Mr Right? Finding the right man they say is a piece of cake,...says who? I look around and see arrogance and classic jerks most of the time. Who says that it won't be so hard if you're willing to change your attitude and see from the eyes of those good men. Why do I need to adjust "my" attitude? Oh tell me please...where are these good guys? I am dying to find out. I'll buy a one way bus pass and see you later if you tell me because I think I have turned over ever stone that a woman can to find one good hearted true gentleman/with perhaps a slightly naughty bedroom streak. Hey, do not laugh...this is what keeps the fire burning,...along with the open communication, trust and love.

Men don't like when we get frustrated...They think that we are ignoring their good deeds and intentions. In the end, it's all that you need instead of the cocky-funny attitude that those jerks show to you.
In addition, remember this: the part that you can be sure will last long from such guys is the cocky part. And the funny part? Ummm, I doubt you'll find him funny once you enter more serious stage of relationship with him. So, let's go to the point. Here are my tips for you. If you're willing to follow them, finding Mr Right won't be a big problem. The bigger problem would be how to make him willing to share his life with you.
  • Be Ms Right!
Yes, if you want to have a Mr Right, then you have to be a Ms Right! Are you listening here ladies?Get your life straight. Work hard to amend your character defects. Why? Easy, just use your common sense. If you want a good man as your life partner, why doesn't he want a good woman, too? No straight-minded man will deliberately look for a lousy and sloppy woman for a wife. And don't use that lame excuses such as "He must accept me the way I am" to justify your ignorance and laziness. Think of the golden rule: "Do unto others as you want others do unto you". If you want a good man as your lifetime partner, then be a good woman for his lifetime partner, too. Finding the right man requires you to do your part, too. It's time to step up your game girl friend! Let;s cut to the chase....if you see something/someone you want bad enough, go for it. Remember, if it's worth having, it is certainly worth frighting for!

  • Be happy with YOU!  Finding Mr Right, finding the right man, will not make you happy forever. No matter how fun and good he is, he won't be able to make you happy unless you're happy with yourself inside. Sometimes we only get one good chance, so make it great!

  • Physical attractiveness- I wish I would never have to write this. But I would be dishonest to you if I don't mention it. Man wants to be proud of their woman's appearance.
Unlike women, physical appearance is very important to men, especially in the first encounters. No, you don't have to look like Miss America, but at least find out your best feature and accentuate it. Kick it up a notch. Look sexy and show some appeal. Do something to make his mouth drop. Shop at Simply Delicious Lingerie...we've go deals and prices that are much less than the competition!
  • Finding a good man is going to be quite difficult if you just look at the surface ......It's like going shoe shopping for that special style, only to find all of the same pairs of shoes and same colors....look beneath the surface and a wide variety will appear. Show negativity, and they'll all look the same!

How about Golf?

You don’t need to be a pro in order to play golf but you can be like a pro if you like.....or so that's what they say....try telling that to my physical education teacher I had during my freshman year of high school when all I wanted to do was learn the game, so I took golf for gym class. Oh I was so excited! Back then in the late seventies early eighties, not many girls played the sport, and half of the reason that I did was because half of the football team too the sport. I was always thinking on my toes. I have boys at my finger tips! I waited so long and then it happened....

A few days later my parents got a letter that they were taking me out of that class and putting my back in another gymnastics class where I could "bop around freely" as they so called it and "bounce off walls" on rubber mats....I should fill you in....at practice the second day of golf class I was that one student that didn't listen...dropped her ball and smack....there it went right through the vertical shaped tinted window at school. Not a cheap window either I might add. They said that my swing was too wild...I say, they just didn't give me the chance to practice the game. I was a female Tiger Woods in the making, they just missed this window of opportunity!

I never gave up on golf, in fact, I played putt-putt...don't laugh, it felt good to have a club in my hand regardless of what type it was. Later in life and after I divorced, I need something to focus my energies on so I went to the driving range....a lot!!! I went through a lot of balls, but began getting better and paying more attention to my mistakes so that I could really do well. A few years later and with some practice here and there I was doing well. Now I have a torn rotator cuff and I am slowly getting back into the swing of my game....I am the beer babe for now. Still a reckless one too I might ad. I realized something though....The fact of golf remains the same. Women are now enjoying being part of this sport and more are becoming interested to learn about this game. For some this is just a past time or hobby but for others it becomes a professions.Whatever motivates you to choose this kind of sport does not matter, what you need to do is have fun doing it and focus if you wish to become a true golf professional.
Women and golf....Let me ask you this ladies? With the various ways to swing... How do you hold your golf clubs? Do you use the Overlapping, Interlocking or the Baseball grip way? Can you use all three? Did you know that some 85% of golfers ( which includes women) don't grip the club correctly.  Sound advice is to use a light grip pressure. Gripping the club too tight could cause thin, weak shots that slice. No one likes to just slice it. A lighter grip gives you better wrist hinge which is a vital power source in the swing.
Grip the club as if you were holding a baby bird in your hands, on a scale of 1 to 10 grip pressure should be around 4 or 5.  I find that it it quite an entertaining sport, can be stressful if you are a real competition, or you can do it to spend more time with your spouse, loved ones, or friends. Let's get to the basics...if this is something that you'd like to do, or if you already do it and want to enhance the game...go for it. Since we're on the subject...How is your game? I've pondered really getting better at it. Perhaps, after my shoulder injury, it will be something to consider.

Orgasms that Make You Scream!

The World's Best Orgasm, Really.

Hey guys...do you like "Sex on the Beach?" Is it a fantasy of yours to do make love on the beach? Woman have a variety of fantasies,....Are you aware of just how important it is for you all to learn the best ways to give a girl an orgasm if you want it to be a perfect relationship. If you don;t know how, you're going to want to stick around for this one. Let’s face the facts; mind and emotions is not the only thing that drives the love between you and your partner; sex should also be considered into the equation if you want to satisfy her wants and needs so that she won’t have to go look for it from another man. You want to rock her boat!

One of the best ways to give a girl an orgasm is to start with seduction. A little foreplay goes a long way....but satisfying her physical urges is not the only way to generate the perfect response. You have to start it off with a little mental conditioning through the art of seduction to work your way up to the climax. A passionate kiss on the lips, stroking her hair, rubbing her shoulders, touch softly her inner thigh, ....these all words of love and sexual intent, as well as tons of seductive moves will surely fire up your partner’s sexual fantasies to make sure that you give her the perfect orgasm fast.

Step #1; in giving your lady the biggest thrill of her life is to get to her head first through reliving her fantasies. Once you get to her head, her body surely follows. Ask her what her biggest sexual fantasy is. Ask her why this is her fantasy. Has she lived any of her fantasy? What happened?

At this point her skin should be flushed and her heart will be beating faster. Her nostrils will be flaring and her breathing will be increased. You'll notice that her face will be flushed.Your job in the #2 step is to vary the place, intensity, and rate of your touch on her clitoris. Practice makes perfect and perfect practice makes perfect lovemaking. At this point her skin should be flushed and her heart will be beating faster. Her nostrils will be flaring and her breathing will be increased. You'll notice that her face will be flushed and maybe sweaty. Perhaps she will be wet between her legs, or at least moist. Her vulva will swell and become engorged with blood. Use a light touch, to start, and perhaps to finish. Less is more with the clitoris.Soon she should start her squeezing contractions and her tingling feeling that spreads from her pelvis to her extremities. This will continue until she explodes in ecstasy. Step #3....Her twitches become uncontrollable. This will be followed by a full-body, thigh-quivering climax. She will probably shriek out your name, (lets hope it's your name...)followed by some profanities, chanting, screaming "Oh God" but no, she is in no way comparing you to him, or calling you God, don't want your ego to rise too much, and then perhaps followed by a few strange noises. In Step #4 with your help, she will have a combined clitoral and g-spot orgasm. This is characterized by a squeezing in and a push-out contraction.

So listen guys,.....Words are never enough to generate the perfect orgasm so you need to back up your words of love with action so if you think "dirty talk" is going to do it, think again! You don’t need a fat and long penis to give her the perfect sex; some say size doesn't matter, however I do tend to disagree. Most will tell you that it’s all in how you use it that matters. Take it slow and let her savor the moment. You can give direction to your thrusts in order to hit her G-spot and firing it up by hitting it dead on.

To sum it all up; the perfect orgasmic response is a combination of physical, mental, and emotional state of your female partner — hit these three points during your lovemaking and you will be able to give her what she wants, and more. Sure naked is nice, but naked is better when you have to work at getting her lingerie off piece by piece first. Sooooo, nice and slow.

Now, if you don't read my blogs and you are just visiting for the first time...let me start by stating,...you should always buy your woman her lingerie at Simply Delicious Lingerie. Secondly, go back a few articles and look for my story about the "G-Spot" you'll want to brush up on this one! Just remember, its pleasure and enjoyment for you both....so like the sand, lets get down to the nitty gritty!

Poise and Beauty

When you think about style, poise and beauty what comes to mind? Is it the look of the woman or the elegance in her step? Anyone can look good, but not everyone has the poise and the ability to walk with a confidence level and the assertiveness of making the statement..." here I am...look at me" The girl who knows how to sit, stand, and walk gracefully possesses a true beauty asset of a very desirable kind, while the appearance of the prettiest woman is often spoiled by a slouching deportment. A plain woman who holds herself erect, moves easily, lightly, and gracefully, has a "presence" of which many of her prettier sisters may be envious....actually everyone is generally envious.

For health reasons, also, it is exceedingly important that every woman should try to acquire a good carriage and graceful deportment. Although it is true that some women are more blessed by nature than others in this respect, a good deal can be done by physical culture. Carelessness is the real cause of slipshod walking, slouching attitudes, and round shoulders. If you hold yourself badly, if you are aware that your carriage lacks the desirable quality of grace, and your figure droops in the wrong places, you can alter the fact if you like.
How is it done? In the first place, realise your defects. Look at yourself carefully, critically, and with unbiased mind in a full-length mirror.

Notice if your chin pokes forward, if your shoulders droop, if you stand straight or tend to rest on one or the other foot, to assume a lop-sided position unconsciously. Probably you shuffle your feet in walking, or take mincing steps. Perhaps you sit huddled in a chair, and have got into the habit of lying in the wrong attitude whilst asleep. Each one of these defects will have to be corrected.

What about Habits?

Every bad habit you have formed will have to be replaced by a good habit, and that means a great deal of concentration of mind and self-control. By carelessness and neglect, the habit of slouching has established itself. By care and culture it must be replaced by the habit of unconscious, graceful, and erect carriage.
A certain time each day should be devoted to physical culture exercises, in order to tone the flabby muscles, to practise poise and balance, and to improve the general health.

So how do I know this stuff? I grew up in a household where I spent many days and nights at my grandparents house. My grandmother and I walk miles and miles for exercise, and we watched Jack Lananne. We'd exercise right along with him....those were the days where we didn't have thousands of dollars to spend on exercise equipment.....all you needed was a kitchen chair and a broom. I learned to work abs and my tush all at the same time and I learned how to develop poise. To learn balance my grandmother made me walk around with a book on my head. Back then, as a young girl it didn't seem to make sense, but I knew that my grandmother was a pretty smart lady and knew that if she said that was what I need to do go get people to turn their heads and take notice....then I needed to give it a whirl! Long since those days, my grandmother has passed away, but I still think of her each time I open my refrigerator....I can still hear her voice saying...."Michele....don't do it!"

When I get dressed, I make sure that I match and I make sure that my lingerie makes just as bold of a statement as my clothes wear on the outside. My grandmother taught me to be poised, and confident. She said people recognize/take notice of a poised woman but they never, ever forget the one who slouches and lacks class.

Over the years, I have learned that grace is something that is acquired, like taste.....you have to work at it in order to achieve it's fullest potential.  No I was never a beauty pageant contestant,...but I was and I still am a woman whose flair for poise and grace has become part of who I am. Never ever ever walk with your head down, look up....if you don't you miss a whole lot of whats going on in the world today! Make eye contact, suck in your tummy, arch your back and keep your shoulders raised....this gives you enough leverage to stay balanced.  You are beautiful....and it only takes a few steps everyday and some practice to give you "the look."

3 Shoe Colors That Get You Noticed

Did you know that your outfit, you know, that one particular match/piece that you select to wear whether it be to work, to meet the girls or for a date makes a very bold statement and did you know that your outfit would be absolutely nothing if you don't have the perfect color shoe to accentuate it?  Surprised? You shouldn't be. If they are well-coordinated with the color of your clothes the will make a statement that will get you noticed amongst all several other women in the room.

There are 3 colors of shoes that are ranking the highest on the charts to take your look, and your outfit to the next level. I'll share with you the color, how to wear it and tell you why this particular shoe color is recommended, but most importatntly what it describes in a womans personality. For the summer season, I highly recommend all colors to be worn with open toes. Fall and winter definately closed toe. Its sexy and appealing to ones eyes. The size of the heel shouldn't matter if the look is captured. Personally, I wouldn't recommend wearing flats though or anything under a 3 inch heel.

Make certain though that you get your pedi because your toe nail polish can make or break your entire look. Lets just assume that your social function is that of importance, so when selecting your shoe, not only is it important to understand the event that you are going to be attending, but one should tie it in with the outfit for that particular season/occassion. I always accuentate my outfit but I never forget the most important.....the lingerie under the outfit. What they see on the surface looks sexy but how you feel underneathe the layers makes a statement all of its own.

# 1 BLACK

Black is the CLASSIC OR BASIC LOOK for sexy high heel shoes. If you aren't sure with the selection of color for your shoe, black high heels are mostly recommended to wear since this color always goes perfect with any color of your outfit. So you will never have a hard time in matching these shoes because of their flexibility to mix and match with just about any of your outfits or even any occasion. Black is also the color of INTELLECTUALISM, of ABSTINENCE, of DISCIPLINE. It's smart, it guarded and it is in a category all of its own. Black is not meant to be flashy, rather to constitute who you are as a woman and it defines your features personalizing you as a symbol of exquisite taste. It is simple, when worn with a little black dress, and a partical open toe is what says sexy. It represents you as well as the outfit that you have chosen. It will differentiate you from all others. When you select the proper style and cut of shoe it identfies who "you" are and this is a pretty big statement that you want to make, yet in a soft sopken way....it will scream attention, and add swager to your walk with confidence.

#2 RED

Do not underestimate the sex appeal of a red high heels shoe for if you do, you'll not see the value in what it stands for and what it says when you wear it. The color red represents life and fertility, but it's also associated with danger and death. Red is the color for passion and rage, love and war, also religious ceremonies. Red high heels shoe symbolizes BOLD, PASSIONATE, STRONG and INTENSE. If you decide to wear red high heels shoe, be careful with selection of your outfit. It will most definately make a statement and people will certainly take notice when they see you in red shoes. In fact, they'll remember the style of the shoes, the heel, the height and the look far before they can tell you what the outfit was all about. Choose a red dress or have a red motif and wear it in the night (evening hours) Red says fresh, frisky and full of fire. It says dashing, determined, and dynamic. Red is aggressive and make you look lively! Add some red lipstick to your make up foundation and it will pull the look together quite well.

#3 WHITE

Your typical white high heels shoe is SEXY, PLAIN, SIMPLE and this is a color that MAKES YOU LOOK YOUNGER. Yep, it screams youth! White high heels shoe always catches the eye first, it becomes the first thing you notice about a person. It is suggested not to pair them with dark bottoms or they’ll look a bit too stark and out of place. All them to blend in somewhat but choose a pair that is sassy and unique that will catch ones eye! Pair them with a white or any light color suit. White high heels is work well in the summer or daytime. they are worn with elegance for social events. Never under estimate the power of white. It will give that one particular outfit the finishing touch,....the image that people will remember. Adding a decorative touch to the shoe will also show class, and distinction. It will define your character, show your strength, nonetheless your softer side by being catchy enough to get noticed. This color, if wore properly will give style to your outfit the flair. With white you are never taking a gander, rather making a statement that says I've just manifested my look in a non verbal way. You need not wear a high heel to grab the attention, for this piece will establish itself as an eye catcher if you can pull it off! Something to keep in mind...it doesn't matter if your shoes cost $19.99 or $900.....it's all in the style you choose for that particular event/evening and how it accents your attire.

Divorce & Single Mothers

33 years old, two  kids in junior high, a happy home and great friends....then the bottom fell out. He stopped coming home after work...every night, another ball game or just another reason to go to happy hour and drink with the guys....what happened? Where did we go wrong?  Communication, lack of trust and we just fell out of love. It happens...sound familiar? I was a woman who didn't have to work, whose job was to raise my children and to take care of the home front. I did all of that and then some. Somewhere along the line, things just fell apart. More arguing, more consuming alcohol and more anguish. I felt cornered at times....why? Everyone thought we'd fail...I was 19 and he was 20... oh and did I mention; baby on the way?.... No one thought that we could ever hold a marriage together for as long as we did and I was more concerned with the material aspect and what he could do "for me" verse how much this man actually loved me. Where was I going to go? I was so dependent on him that I was terrified and had no idea what the future would hold or entail.

Where the task then became difficult was bringing two innocent children into the equation. They were accustom to a wonderful life where we vacationed often, took the toys out onto the water and enjoyed so much time on the lakes of Michigan throughout the summer months. This was all about to disappear. My marriage was over and no one wanted to file for the divorce. He blamed me and said I was the reason he drank, and I blamed him for never being there for me and using excuses to stay away. Crying myself to sleep each night became routine and my daughter had to hear me night after night as her room was next to our master bedroom. Have you ever cried yourself to sleep sobbing? It's not healthy, not for you and not for your family.....but how was I to tell two kids that their worlds were about to fall apart no thanks to me? I feared that they would hate me. Oh they were angry, but still remained so loving..... I honestly think that they got tired of hearing the yelling and screaming, and quite frankly, it was getting old. Those nights of asking "When is Dad coming home?" and "Why aren't we waiting for dad to get here to eat dinner?" .....slowly diminished. We got used to eating alone, and doing a lot of things alone. Sports were his priority and we took a back seat most often to the ball games.

Divorces happen for many reasons.....My advice....Be sure that your child(ren) understand that the divorce is not their fault! Kids are quick to blame themselves for the break up of their family. Stress to them that not only are they not the cause, but there is nothing they could have done to keep the divorce from happening.

In my situation, I took them away from their friends, neighbors, schools, etc. At such a young age I worried about them and their reactions. What I did not realize and what my mother and grandmother told me was that these great kids that I raised were much stronger than I was actually giving them credit for, and that they would someday see why I chose the path that I did. Why did I.... you wonder? That's an easy answer....I didn't want my children to ever think that marriage was fighting, crying, and screaming at one another. Never have I felt like I couldn't fix things....yet this, I could not fix.

I wanted my kids to see marriage and love as a wonderful thing, but I was feeling like I failed miserably. At the beginning of  separation or divorce, many people often feel abandoned or sidelined by their married friends. I tend to think of it as the "third wheel bug". Don’t worry, it’s not something you catch—but the discomfort is there. The dynamics of socializing often change upon separation and divorce. While the situation of being the odd person out in a couple’s world is not all uncommon, it can be unnerving.  Suddenly single, it’s at this time in your life when you need the love and support of your friends like never before.
I not only hear about the loneliness, but experienced this first hand. Everywhere I went I saw happy couples. I went to homecoming, and prom pre-parties where parents were invited to take photos of their children and everyone was there as a couple, the moms and dads...and then there was me....single and feeling so isolated. I never let on to my kids how awful I really felt, and how I cried all the way home. There are a lot of things that they don't need to know. This I could get past,.....holidays and birthdays were a little different, nevertheless, he was still their father and they deserved their time with dad.

Today, divorce is probably the most common cause of single parent families, and probably the one most written about; however, a few things bear repeating simply because while they are such good advice, they are also the hardest issues to deal with effectively when it comes to divorce.

The ideal situation is an amicable divorce with established visitation and support. However, it seems that an amicable divorce, especially when children are involved, is a rarity. Established visitation and support are necessary regardless of the situation and should be handled by the judge when the divorce is granted. If you do not feel that it is being adequately covered by the attorneys, then be certain to bring it up and ask for it to be dealt with directly. Should your attorneys seem to avoid the issue, then you have every right to change attorneys or to bring it up to the judge yourself. Do not let this important aspect of your future be passed over – it is critical to the future happiness of your child(ren) and yourself. Love them and they will respect you for your choices.

I never really gave single mothers enough credit until I suddenly became one myself. I went from not working at all, to working 50 hour work weeks. Now I was both the mom and dad for me that wasn't difficult because he was never home and I got used to doing it all. That part of single life wasn't hard. I made a lot of sacrifices but so did my children.

Have you ever sat across the room at a restaurant while you might have been alone or waiting for a friend to show up and watched other couples and how they act/react? I was and still am quite amazed at how dissatisfied and unhappy so many of these couples look. With some the tension is so thick that you can cut it with a knife. It's sad actually. So why do they stay together? I asked woman because I'm not at all shy and I wanted to know. Their answer's shocked me. Most women said that they stayed in their marriages for the kids, for the nice house, fancy cars, great vacations and the bank accounts. Most woman said that they were not ready to walk away from it all like I did. Most women turn their head while their husband carries on an affair because they are selfish themselves to leave the good life behind, or too weak to walk away. I had more pride. My morals outweighed the obvious and I had far too much respect for myself to stay in a marriage with a man who no longer loved me. Some women just can't walk away, and to these woman I say, "Gosh am I sorry!" The sad situation with my marriage was that he did work hard, I just took him for granted and never said thank you. In divorces people always blame one another. It takes 2. 2 to make a marriage work and 2 to make it fail. Lesson learned, and noted.

Life playing the role of solo single mom isn't easy ladies. Anyone that tells you it is actually is full of shit or hasn't experienced rejection by a spouse, or has and just doesn't care. I felt that my children deserved so much better. I felt my kids had suffered enough and needed balance and stability in their lives. I was the one to give it to them, and that became my sole responsibility.

To the single moms around the world that put their lives on hold to better their child/children's lives I commend you and I say "WOW!" Today, my kids are grown and out of college. I watched them go from adolescent teenagers to young adults to mature individuals that I couldn't be more proud of. A day doesn't go by that I don't question if I did the right thing, and the answer is always the same. Yes, I needed to divorce, for my children, and for my well being. I deserved a man who would love only me, and accept my flaws, as well as my strengths. My parents remind me of what a great job I did as a single mother as sometimes I tend to forget. My heart goes out to all single mothers who day and night put their needs, educations, and lifestyles on hold. Personally I have no regrets whatsoever, in fact, if I had to do it all again, I'd do this the same way.

Today, my kids see a strong woman who still messes up and learns from her mistakes. They see a mother who is not perfect, one who loves whole heartily and accepts responsibility. They see a mother that pushes herself to the limits, and a woman who not only takes the bull by the horns but by the balls and doesn't stop until she gets things right. I go to bed at night asking the same thing that most of you do.....are my children proud of me, and do they ever really fully understand that what I did, was all for them? As a single mother, we never stop...we keep on going and take on a lot of roles.....we find our balance.
Single Moms.....We sure do wear a lot of hats.....

Menopause....Are You Packing On Pounds?

Menopause weight gain: OMG...Make it Stop!

Well it sure stinks to be a woman sometimes.....we're hot then we're cold, we're crying then laughing...now gaining weight? I was looking good for my age then one day I woke up a month ago and my whole entire shape felt different. I fear the scale and it's still packed so I haven't a clue where it is or what the reading will be if it is even correct. Please tell me that I am not the only one experiencing this? I feel like I have gained 10-15 pounds in little over a month. Am I slacking? Am I eating too much, not enough of the right foods or healthy foods? ....Listen, I work out, (yes I do) and I eat healthy, I get enough sleep, I am a happy gal with no problems., except for the fact that this weight won't come back off!? this is just awful! As you get older, you may notice that maintaining your usual weight becomes more difficult. In fact, the most profound weight gain in a woman's life tends to happen during the years leading up to menopause (peri-menopause). Weight gain after menopause isn't inevitable, however. You can reverse course by paying attention to healthy-eating habits and leading an active lifestyle.

What causes menopause weight gain?

The hormonal changes of menopause may make you more likely to gain weight around your abdomen, rather than your hips and thighs. What if you gain around all three of these areas,..like somone I may know....Hormonal changes alone don't necessarily trigger weight gain after menopause, however. Instead, the weight gain is usually related to a variety of lifestyle and genetic factors. Genetic? Great, remind me to thank my mom and her deceased realatives! They might have had this happen but why me? Hasn't my body been through enough for crying out loud?

For example, menopausal women tend to exercise less than other women, which can lead to weight gain. In addition, muscle mass naturally diminishes with age. If you don't do anything to replace the lean muscle you lose, your body composition will shift to more fat and less muscle — which slows down the rate at which you burn calories. If you continue to eat as you always have, you're likely to gain weight.

For many women, genetic factors play a role in weight gain after menopause. If your parents or other close relatives carry extra weight around the abdomen, you're likely to do the same. Sometimes, factors such as children leaving — or returning — home, divorce, the death of a spouse or other life changes may contribute to weight gain after menopause. For others, a sense of contentment or simply letting go leads to weight gain.

How risky is weight gain after menopause?

Weight gain after menopause can have serious implications for your health. Excess weight increases the risk of high cholesterol, high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes. In turn, these conditions increase the risk of heart disease and stroke. Excess weight also increases the risk of various types of cancer, including colorectal cancer and breast cancer. In fact, some research suggests that gaining as little as 4.4 pounds (2 kilograms) at age 50 or later could increase the risk of breast cancer by 30 percent.

What's the best way to prevent weight gain after menopause?

There's no magic formula for preventing or reversing weight gain after menopause. Simply stick to weight-control basics: eat healty, diet and exercise. Take control of "your life" back! Get mad, scream, shake the scale....then hit the trails, pull out the treadmill, count your calories again and take your vitamins!
It really isn't easy getting older,.... actually all of this stuff sucks, was this part of the plan, if so,....I had no idea...I want my life back. I thought I was in my prime, and now...well now I feel like the Good Year Blimp.

Look Smashing, Not Clashing!

By dressing well, guys can give off the appearance of being confident, attractive, put-together men that any firm would want to hire and any woman would want to date. One's attire is one of the first things noticed by others, and these first impressions are long-lasting. With a few simple steps, any guy can dress to impress everyday.

First, there are clothes for public consumption: clothing in which to present yourself to others and thereby convey an elevated message about yourself. These are types of clothes you wear to work, to the store, out on the town, at a wedding, at church, at parties, or wherever people are going to see you. The primary objective here is that you look presentable, that you are civilized, a gentleman and not a beast.

The other type of clothing is that which serves a pure functional purpose: that is, that which you wear for yard work, fixing your car, an evening at home, a Saturday washing the house or cleaning, or just knocking around the park with kids. Everyone knows what type of clothes these are. They can all be bought at Wal-Mart or thrift stores, and they are made of cotton.

The great dressing error of our time is to confuse the two. Or more precisely: people think that it is perfectly okay to present yourself to others in clothes which serve a purely functional purpose. They say this is fine because it is comfortable — as if the only thing that matters in life is comfort. Well, it is also comfortable not to shave and not to bathe, and we have a word for people like that: slobs. If you don't want to be a slob, you have to live with a bit of discomfort. Suck it up...you'll look and feel better and you will turn heads.

Now the next step: how do you look presentable? For a man, it is a snap. Your full wardrobe need not take up more than 12 to 18 inches of closet space. What every man should have in his closet.

You need:
  • one or two suits in blue or grey
  • a blue or black jacket or sports coat
  • a jacket for summer (khaki or blue cotton or, if you want to be really fancy, seersucker)
  • a tweed jacket for winter
  • year-round grey wool trousers (light or dark or both)
  • a few pairs of khakis
  • 3 white and 3 blue shirts
  • a selection of ties
But, you say, I'll look the same all the time! Right. This conveys an impression that you are a wise and stable person, not prone to flights of fancy and fits of fashion. There is a practical aspect here. You don't really want to wear clothes that cause people to comment: hey, that is a really nice forest-green, window-pane, double-breasted, peak-lapel, side-vent hunting jacket with leather patches! The next time you wear it, the comment will be: oh, you wore that last week! No, you don't really want people to zero in on your clothes as if they have an existence apart from you and your character. Clothes should not make the man; they should be the man. Stay tune, we'll go over more of the business attire for dress in another article.

By all means, if you are not good at this getting yourself dressed ordeal, or if you think you know what it takes to pull an outfit off when you haven't a clue? .......Please... let someone else help you choose what to wear if you aren't sure how to dress for an event....You want to blend in, not stand out like a sore thumb. Don't ever go out like these guys did in public, unless you are doing it to draw in some freaky kind of attention...the only thing worse would be if you went streaking in general. At least there, we'd have something to look at- directing our attention fully on you,....and not being blindsided by your loud bright attire! Ladies, PLEASE don't let your men go out like this!!

Guys; How to Ruin the First Date

Just because a girl is willing to give you a fighting chance to show what a great guy you are on a first date doesn't mean that she wants to see that special tatoo on your inner left thigh, or the one on your ass. She probably doesn't even want to know what kind of underwear you are wearing, so it's likely that you should forget about having sex on the first date. As for me, that's generally a first question. The underwear part, probably because underwear is my business and I try to imagine what the man looks like in it without being too noticeable. Sometimes I'm not always discreet and I just put my foot in my mouth (most of the time) and with my words fumbled, I usually say something stupid like "So tell me, because I've never really been all that good with surprises, what do you have going on under those pants?" Thus meaning underwear, thong, boxers, boxer briefs....it just generally never comes out the way that I had intended to say it, and certainly never mean it in a dirty kind of way.,..well, perhaps sometimes. It's a great conversation mixer though and my way to break the ice!

Just Test the Waters, Don't Jump into the Lake....

No diving head first.....not on the first date gentlemen! First dates are very fragile affairs; two strangers unite to test out the waters and see if they are at all compatible. When women are on first dates with men, they analyze every little thing their date does. After all, the pressure is usually on the men, so the way they handle this high stress situation is an indication of their characters. Does he fidget? Does he sweat? Does he remain calm and collected....or does he feel quite at ease with you? How do guys ensure they don't completely ruin a first date? It's quite simple: let the women feel comfortable. If women are comfortable, they will relax and be more at ease within conversations. This way, if you accidentally say something insulting, step on her foot or forget to hold the door, she will be more inclined to forgive the mishap, if not pal, you are skating on thin ice!

How to Make a Good Impression

A good place for a first date is a comedy club. You find yourselves in a setting with lots of people and you can easily think of things to do should awkward moments of silence arise. By the end of the show you will both be smiling, which assures that you'll be in good moods for the rest of the night. The show also gives you something to talk about. The biggest advantage of a comedy show is that the jokes your date laughs at can reveal a lot about her personality. You should know that a guy who laughs extra hard at jokes that degrade women, immediately has 3 strikes against him...so dater beware. Also, make sure that you have enough cab money if you allowed him to be your driver as you may be taking this trip home via taxi whereas if he were my date and he did this he'd be traveling all right...straight to the the moon via my foot up his ass. The Frank Sinatra song "Fly me to the Moon" would be putting this one mildly.

Be Yourself....We Know if You're Lying!

A guy should always act natural on the first date; don't pretend to be someone you're not. You might be fooling yourself here, but women have radar and we can smell your line of bull a mile away, well, most of us can. For those of you women who cannot...we've get some learning to do! Some guys boast which gives us the impression that you're arrogant. Women like a man who might appear to be a little flamboyant. Now that's my problem....I like a playful man with an edge. Bad boy? Yes. Why? No idea? Always have liked them and they always tend to get me in trouble, which is why after several years of the "bad boys/wrong men" I decided to stay single. Try to keep the lines of communication open, and keep it simple by avoiding debates about religion or politics. Unless you are seriously prepared and loaded with a pocketful of ammunition to back your words....don't go there...at least not on your first date. Don't impose or get too personal; whatever a girl wants to tell you, she will reveal on her own. Remember, if you make her feel comfortable around you, you will surely get a second date. If you move too quickly and get too much "in her business" you'll find yourself catching the harsh wind of that old familiar slamming door!

I recommend that you let the girl speak as well. It allows you to get to know a lot of things about her without revealing too much about yourself. A mysterious, aloof man is very attractive. There is no better compliment for a man than a woman telling her friend I had the most wonderful conversation with this guy last night, yet I still don't know anything about him. He's a great listener though . This means that you not only entertained her that night, but you've got her begging for more and ready for that second date!

Have fun on your first date and don't push her if she says no to sex, in fact...don't even try asking for it...don't push if she refuses a ride home either, but make damn certain that you pay for her bill or she will never date you again. There is NO GOING DUTCH Mr Cheap Ass, on the first date! NO NO NO!!! Ummm hello....were you born and raised in a cave or are you really that stupid? She's a lady...treat her as such. Do men actually think that splitting the bill is proper if they asked you out? Listen up....YOU PAY, or don't ask her out! There is nothing worse than a  cheap pushy man. Never ever ever think she will allow you into her home or into her bed on a first date, unless this is a one night stand because the dating part of it won't work long term and you both agree to just a wild night of passion. Respect her first and foremost....if you can't do that guys, why on earth are you even dating? My advice for a good first date. Show up early, but not too early, show her that you know how to be on time and that you were a bit excited about seeing her, brush up on wine guys... A woman loves a man who knows his wine, select a few red and a few whites and ask her which she prefers, find out why she likes them...is it the aroma, or the taste of that particular type? Rule of thumb: You should always order it when out to dinner or for a cocktail. You make the selection.
Tell her she looks pretty, study her face from across the table....did you know that you can read a lot in a woman's eyes.  Always open the door for her, and pull her chair out at a restaurant when she stands up or sits down, it's the gentleman thing to do. You are going to have to earn her respect...so give it your best, it may not be easy, but remember,... all good things you must work harder for. Want to win her heart and get date #2? Be yourself (in some cases, lets hope that's good enough) and show up with a smile and flowers!
